  " What? You think I'll still go with her?" mused Nikolai as he rested his chin on his hand. " Don't be silly, dearie. A woman like that is bound to have another man waiting to step up as a father figure. Even if she argues that the boy can't live without a father, I can counter that with Aysun." He smiled lazily at Leon. " Relax, darling. Don't you think there'd be an awful lot more children claiming to be mine if I didn't plan these things through?"

" I haven't the faintest idea, dearie," Nikolai replied. He could have been joking, but there was something about the way he looked at his husband that said otherwise.

Leon CourtLeon quietly moved to the door, opening it and looking to Nikolai. " You can wait in the living room," he told the woman, although he seemed to mean it towards them both.

Nikolai blinked at Leon but kept his mouth closed as he moved to the living room, ignoring the woman speaking rapid Spanish.

Leon CourtLeon looked at the woman, his temper flaring. " Shut up!" he yelled in Spanish, an angry vein popping out his forehead.

The woman looked at Leon in shock for a moment, not expecting him to know any Spanish, then gave a quick huff and stormed (with her chin held up high) to the couch. Nikolai, to avoid unneeded drama, sat in the armchair. He ignored the glares given to him and eyed his phone, searching for the doctor's number.

Leon CourtLeon glared at her until she sat down, then moved towards the stairs. " I'm going to put Aysun down for his nap. When I come downstairs, Decius better be on his way." Walking upstairs, he sighed and entered Aysun's room. " You ready for your nap?" he asked. " Because your Uncle Leon certainly is."

" Noooo," whined Aysun. " We gotta make the house look scary! And-And I wanna be a racecar driver! No! A mummy! A-A mummy racecar driver!" Meanwhile, Nikolai exhaled through his nose as he listened to Decius on the phone. The doctor was busy working on his "haunted house" (which was a glorified kidnapping of new people to experiment on) and wouldn't be free until the weekend. Nikolai glanced briefly at the woman still glaring at him. She looked the type to not leave until she was proven right or wrong. He sighed again. He'd just have to bide his time as this went on. But... maybe that wasn't a bad thing? He glanced upward in thought, thinking of the kind of torment he could put Leon through and the revenge he'd pull afterwards. A sadistic smile spread across his lips as he hung up the phone.

Leon Court" We have time to do that after your nap," insisted the teacher, setting Aysun on the bed and holding the blanket. " I promise, we'll do everything you just said and more. The whole house will be scary and your costume will be perfect. Just nap for right now, okay?"

Aysun was reluctant, but sank into the mattress and curled up with his toy bear, closing his eyes. All he could think about was getting to go trick-or-treating with his uncles and Daniel or Parker while getting tons of candy. It was hard to fall asleep with his heart beating so fast.

" Dearie," Nikolai started from the doorway. He ushered for Leon to step out and waited for the door to be closed before continuing. " I just got off the phone with Decius-darling. He's rather busy what with Halloween, so the earliest we can see him is this weekend."
