"I'd agree. The beach would do us all a bit of good," Jacen said, "Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I'll be able to actually swim or not." He was right about that. He knew that if he did, he'd wind up ruining the sutures in his arms and leg. And he knew a certain physician wouldn't be too pleased with that.
Something that Penance said made Jacen think about something. What if things turned out differently? When he was a kid, almost certain he was going to be shot to death...what if it were Xavier's brood instead of Magneto that came to his aid? Would he have been molded to follow Xavier's dictum, not unlike the way Magneto did? Would he have gotten the training he did? Would Penance and himself....
Dammit boy, he thought to himself, Stop yourself right there. And so, he did stop thinking along that line. Though, as much as he like Penance. He knew he liked Penance. Maybe everyone else did, cause it seemed like they could always read him like an open book, but he didn't want to act on it. Not in the slightest.
"Yea. I probably would have wound up on the corner of some city intersection playing guitar for loose change," Jacen said, continuing the conversation, "My dad was showing me how to play years ago. I doubt I'd remember now, but then, for my age, I think I was decent."
He looked over at Penance sitting there crossed-legged, listening to him rather intently. He smiled faintly before laying his head back on the seat and sighing. "So....when are we getting there? I'm anxious to get offa this bird...."

Danielle sat in her seat and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen. She began writing a letter to her Grandpa. His birthday was in a couple of weeks, and she was going to see if it was alright to visit him.

"Soon," Penny said looking at her watch, "And I think technically you're allowed in water after 24 hours... just not for hours at a time." [OOC: I think that's what i was told last time I had stitches]
"Do you always know everything or act like it?" He smiled.
"Yes, pretty much," She nodded and grinned as their pilot put the 'fasten your seatbelts' light on in the back, "Most of the time if you pretend you know what you're talking about, they never know the difference."
The decent was fairly smooth. The sand rushed down on the beach but the area was isolated enough that there were no beach goers in this section. If anything, they looked like a bunch of brats with a fancy plane.
"So if we're 602... I wonder how house number 600 is going to like us..." Penny pointed at the two houses seperated probably only by twenty yards. They were huge, though, and definately looked well maintained. She could see a peir down about a hundred yards from them and some rocks. Quiet but not too quiet.
She took her shoes off and grabbed her luggage while some of the kids started sprinting towards the house. Regina walked down the ramp and paced herself with Penny and Jacen holding out the keys, "They can run all they want. I still have the keys."
"Nice, I don't care which room we get as long as it has a window," Penny let her feet sink into the sand.
Porter came down the ramp after making sure everybody and everything was out of the jet and they moved towards the house out of the way for it's exit. When the noise died down he spoke up, "Just because I have to be responsible, my room is the closest to the front exit of the house. And because you're the team leaders, your guys have the room near the back exit."
"Yes, mother," Penny realized the point of it. They still had kids from the ages of 14-18 running about the house. And as much as she wanted to ignore them, she was pretty sure that she was going to make sure they didn't get into any real trouble... for the most part.
"Thanks, Evelyn. I always appreciate your support," Porter said sarcastically and offered to carry Regina's bag for her, "Jacen, you're more than welcome to share a room with me if you don't find another one to your liking."
"Wow," Penny said as they walked up through the back gate. Inside the 'yard' was everything one could want. Fit pit, patio, grill, hot tub, and just about anything else that would make their vacation nice. Regina walked up the door and let them inside the house. She and Penny walked up the stairs that came up from the kitchen to claim the first room per Porter's instructions. There was a mad thundering up the stairs by mostly everybody else for the other free rooms.
Penny looked up at the ceiling hearing a thunder of footsteps over head as kids scramped for third floor space too, "I hope they have strong ceilings in here." She put her bags down on a bed and went down into the kitchen.
Putting a bag onto the kitchen counter she left fifteen comm badges out, "I don't care what you guys do, but take one of these incase you get into trouble or if you're not going to be back by dinner... which will be at 6. Try not to use your powers where there are people around... we want to lay low and have fun... not fight off a mob or get arrested."

Not really in the mood to fight of legions of other students, Morgan decided to wait until the clamour had died down a bit, and pick a room from whatever was left. The only bit of his gear that he'd brought with him was his pouch belt, and a few smoke pellets. In case some of the other kids had wanted a good show. He'd also brought his guitar with him. He had been practicing recently, and was getting good. Heh, maybe we could put on a show later. Now I just need to find a singer, and a drummer. At least, he thought to himself. He smiled at the idea, and headed into the kitchen, where Penance had just laid out a set of comm badges.
"Sure thing. Hey, do you know if anyone here sings or plays drums or guitar?" he asked, taking one of the badges and tucking into one of the pouches on his belt.

Jamie grabbed one of the communicators off the table, and stuck it in his back pocket.
"Er, I play a little bit of bass." Jamie said to Morgan. "I picked it up a bit while I was on the road. Play when I get the chance. Nothing serious though."

Danielle, sat down at a table and continued writing her letter. She hated writting letters to people. But since it was too her grandpa she didn't care. Of course so far the paper just said: 'Dear Poppa,' and that's it.

Blair watched the other kids scrambling for rooms and running through the house. He didn't really mind where he slept...because most likely, it'd be someone he didn't know. He walked into the kitchen and picked up on of the comm badges and put it on his shoulder. His stomach growled and he realized he hadn't eaten anything since arriving at the Institute.
Blair went past the group of kids without a word and began rummaging through the fridge.

"I'm from Dublin, Ireland." Teagan said looking over at Gen. She felt bad, having wanted to get to know her roommate some, but she was so tired. She fell asleep on the Jet, finally waking up when they arrived at the beach.
She walked off the Jet, following behind most of the students with her bag slung over one shoulder and her headphones hanging around her neck. She was rather glad to have some of her own stuff, instead of a bunch of hand-me downs. She had gotten up early that morning so she could dash over to her foster home and pick up her things. Of course, she had some explaining to do, but she didn't care. She laughed slightly to herself, just thinking about how long it had taken her to get out of her foster home.
'Bout three days. I do believe this is a new record. She thought to herself as she walked into the kitchen. She grabbed a comm badge, as Penny had instructed everyone to do. She figured most of the students were upstairs, grabbing rooms already.
I'll sleep where ever there's room. Doubt anyone'll mind. She thought, looking around the kitchen. One of the boys caught her attention when she heard something about looking for a singer, but she figured she'd be better off keeping quiet.
She walked over to the fridge, standing on her toes and peeking over Blair's shoulder.
"Anything good to eat?" She laughed.

"Not really. Lots of pigs...and cows...Not my thing. Oh, turkey slices."
He smiled at Teagan and pulled the package of turkey meat out of the drawer in the fridge. He reached atop the fridge and pulled down some whole wheat bread and began to make himself a sandwich at the counter.
He looked at the other people talking around him and wondered if he should venture into saying hello or not.

ooc: i'd get the bhood moving but i don't have a single character part of it. 'sides, noko was the one that got the "you're a winner" thing ;p
ic:
Gen followed Teagan, finding it comforting to follow someone she was at least beginning to know. "Maybe we should share a room since we're roommates at the institute... or not if you prefer." she added, not wanting to seem pushy to the idea that they stay roommates for so long.
She blinked when she saw Blair. "Hey, I remember you. Vaguely..."
Regina tailed after Penny and Porter, getting a feel for the place as they went along and made their ways to the rooms that Porter had designated for them. He wisely seperated them by a house. One to make sure the younger kids don't sneak out and two to seperate them. She had a feeling that things were going to... be interesting should they be allowed to get to know each other.
Though he did still owe her a date... and she was going to make sure he made good on that promise. She grinned a bit to herself, keeping her thoughts private as she drug her stuff into the room she and Penny would be sharing.

"Nah, that sounds like a good idea, Gen. It'll give us some more chances to get to know each other better." Teagan said, crunching down into an apple she had pulled out of the fridge.
She glared over at Blair, looking at his sandwhich. She cocked an eye brow as she took another bite of her apple.
"Won't eat a pig or a cow, but you'll happily eat a turkey? Pah!" She said, not even sure herself what she meant by that.
She looked back over at Gen, picking her bag up. "I'm going to go find us a room, just to be sure they're not all taken." She laughed, stuffing the apple in her mouth and running up the stairs.
She walked down the hall, noticing a lot of rooms were already claimed and had students just relaxing in them. She shuddered, spotting Bobby changing into swimming trunks.
"You could atleast close the door!" She said, pulling his door shut and walking a few more doors down. She spotted a room with two beds, and it seemed to be preoccupied.
Perfect. She thought, throwing her bag down onto one of the beds and walking over to the window.
