"Nein," Ari said, laughing, "Nein on the goatee! You'll look like a billy-goat, and then what?" Ari listened to his talk of Mozart. "I like his pieces," she admitted, "I listen to them sometimes when I go to sleep at night."

She sighed as she gave Zeus a quick peck on the cheek. "A lot of things..." she said softly, "... most of them involving Ares." She paused a moment for dramatic effect. She couldn't help it. "They finally made up my mind for me," she said nodding towards the Furies. "I have laid my quarrel with Ares to rest, and I refuse to let them bully Evermore... she's just a girl. Ares and her feelings for each other are true, and should they survive their numerous quarrels, could have a long and happy relationship. I will not stand for it to be destroyed, and have Evermore's heart jerked on a chain like mine was. Especially if there were outside nudges aiding the relationship to fail," she said darkly, glancing at the Furies. She tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Not that I'm pointing fingers or anything," she said airily.

Zeus stared at his daughter with some surprise in his eyes. He had known of her love for the God of War and also knew that he was a main reason for his daughter retreating to Earth. He had punished Ares severely. He had brought down a lightning storm during one of Ares' prominent wars, causing Ares' army to lose the war and the land that went with it.
Now, however, Aphrodite seemed to be moving on from him. Aphrodite did not move on. He loved his daughter, but she was a goddess after all. She schemed and manipulated to get her way. Why this sudden change?
Alecto saw that Zeus had put his hand down while Aphrodite was speaking, so she took her opportunity.
"Aphrodite, that is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard! Ares does not have feelings for anyone, especially a Fury, let alone a child! Well, the age thing means nothing to us, but Ares is not capable of true feelings. He's the God of War! It's impossible!"
Alecto glared at Aphrodite with fierce red eyes. She had never liked Aphrodite. She was always in pink, all of the other gods, including Ares, favored and lusted after her instead of Alecto, she had many more followers, she was one of the 12 Main Gods, and she was Zeus's daughter! She really hated Aphrodite!

”How DARE you!” Aphrodite shrieked, her beauty momentarily fleeing from her frame. ”You WILL address me with the respect that is due to me, Alecto! Don’t you DARE tell the Goddess of Love that she is wrong about something such as Love! I can see Love, I can see relationships! I. Am. Not. Wrong!” she hissed. Suddenly she was beautiful, soft spoken, and smiling again. ”… and nothing is impossible.” Aphrodite spared an apologetic glance to Zeus. "Sorry for yelling, Daddy," she said sincerely.

"All right, if it'd really bother you that bad. I may still do something, though I'm not sure what." He said smiling as he tapped his hand on his leg to one of Mozart's pieces playing on the movie. "I love to play them on my piano or whatever instrument needed for the song. Marriage of Figaro has to be my favorite."

Zeus merely sighed and sat back down on his throne. He rested his elbow on the armrest of his throne and rested his chin in his hand. He had learned from experience that it was just best to let Alecto and Aphrodite argue it out. He could not simply punish the lead Fury for arguing with his daughter, and Aphrodite had a mind of her own. It was just best to sit back and not get involved unless energy balls starting being thrown.
Alecto was still glaring at Aphrodite, but she had not moved forward. She hated Aphrodite but knew that she had to obey her... to an extent. But she was still a Fury and Aphrodite herself had to use the aid of the Furies numerous times to seek revenge in romantic relationships.
"And, dear Aphrodite," she nearly sneered, "I would request that you not get involved in this matter that does not concern you! We are not debating the frivolous matter of romance. We are discussing our claim on one of the five God Killer Relics, and Evermore is our link to it! With one in our possession, the rest will be easy to obtain!"
She pointed a long finger, with the nail painted blood red, at Aphrodite. "You showed no interest in this four years ago when we brought the matter up with Zeus and the other gods! You were so preoccupied with getting Ares' attention that you did not even listen when we brought up the subject of creating someone that could lead us to the Relic! So this does not concern you now!"

”… and that is exactly your problem,” Aphrodite said quietly. ”That’s all Evermore has ever been to you. An object, a means to an end… and most definitely not a daughter by any sense of the word.” Aphrodite wrapped a strand of hair around her finger. ”… and this does concern me. What if, in return for leaving Evermore and Ares alone… I do her task instead?” It was a large gesture for one of her stature, to offer to belittle herself in place of another. It just normally wasn’t her style.

Ari smiled and nodded. It was a nice song. She closed the book, tossing it onto the floor. Ari stretched out and lay her head down on the bed, she eyelids closing. She was still awake... but just resting.

Musica looked down at her resting form and smiled. "Now just want have you done today that's so tiring?" Musica resisted the urge to lay down with her and hold her, not wanting to put her off. The last thing he wanted was for her to think he just wanted to get into her pants. For once that wasn't his plan either.

{{You know, after doing more research, I discovered that Ares is also a child of Zeus... how are we going to work this? lol. Granted, gods weren't made the same way mortal people were made. Well, not all the time. And they'd have different mothers. And gods were never against incest b/c it wasn't really incest for them... What do you think?}}
Zeus's eyes widened as he stared at his daughter. What had gotten into her lately?! She was offering to belittle herself just to help Ares develop a relationship with another girl? This was not like her, and he did not like the idea of his daughter lowering herself to such acts.
He leaned back in his throne with a scowl on his face, and a low rumble of thunder could be heard in the far off distance.
The glare left Alecto's face as she considered Aphrodite's offer. It would be interesting to see Aphrodite lower herself to do drone-like work. It would be quite entertaining.
... However, Alecto did not like the idea of a creature she put the effort into making going against the rules set before her, and Ares had deeply insulted her. She would not let that go. She was a Fury, for gods-sake! She was the seeker of revenge, especially her own!
Alecto looked down at the pristine marble floor and smirked. She raised her hands in surrender and slowly started to walk forward toward Aphrodite, her red pieces of cloth trailing behind her in the gentle breeze.
When she was close enough, she looked up into Aphrodite's perfect eyes and her smirk grew. "Dear Aphrodite, I think there might be a simpler solution that will benefit all of us, especially you."
The other three Furies began to cackle and then danced up to Aphrodite. They grabbed a few pieces of their red cloth and began dancing around her and Alecto, swaying the cloth in an ethereal manner and giggling the entire time as Alecto continued to speak.
"Aphrodite, if we force Evermore back to her task, she will not have time to spend with Ares. Ares will become furious, lonely and moody. And who does he go to when he's moody and lonely?"
Well, he usually visited anyone he could think of, but the person he chose was often Aphrodite.
Alecto slipped behind Aphrodite and rested her pale hand on her shoulder. She whispered in her ear.
"Think of it. The God of War and the Goddess of Love back together again, a match that has defied all the infamous romantic pairings in history. With Ever out of the way, Ares will be yours again."

Aphrodite heard the thunder in the distance... but she also heard the Fury's poisonus words. The worst part was, she could see it. It would be too easy... but it wouldn't be love. She'd always have to exert her power over him, making him see only her. It wouldn't be love... it would be infatuation. She'd given that up long ago... along with toying with mortals. Evermore was no mortal... but she had feelings.
"You poisonous snake!" Aphrodite hissed, glaring at the Fury. "It's me or nothing... my services in exchange for Evermore and Ares to be together. I'm more powerful than Evermore will ever hope to be, what more could you ask for?" She lifted her chin proudly. "I do not want a man that does not want me. I promised on the River Styx not to harm Ares... that would be harming him. I will take Evermore's place."

"I believe you were driven during that chasing Miss Ari. And what on Midgard could you possibly argue with Ever about?" Musica didn't like the sound of that. Especially if Ever had given her a hard time about him. If Ever wanted to say something about him, then say it to his face.

"Details, details," Ari said, laughing. "We argued about you, actually. She can be such a hypocrite! She said I didn't owe you anything, and that I ought to make you work for my attention... which isn't a bad idea, but I could tell it was something important that you wanted to talk about... and she's not the boss of me, so I left," Ari said simply, winking.

When Aphrodite swung around to glare at her, Alecto hissed at her and then laughed cruelly. Call her a snake? Well then she'd gladly play along!Zeus quickly stood up from his throne and shouted in a booming voice with lightning filling the sky behind him.
"ENOUGH!!" Alecto gasped and turned around to immediately face Zeus's angry one. She and the other Furies were terrified and immediately bowed their heads in respect and obedience.
