Waking up from a good good dream because of cramps!
RP Peeve: When people use 'reals' or 'preexisting' characters in an RP. To some that's a no as they would rather you be creative and well prevent the fight some would have with who gets to be who.
In one RP it has come to be a sort of first come first serve thanks to the captain having some personal things to work through so he can't monitor the profiles as he likes. But because of that it's like that person told his friend or he logged into mule accounts but we've been infiltrated with 'reals' who doesn't really post they just came to calm dibs then vanished or started posting without following the rules.
One idiot interrupted a match between the only other female in the guild and I then didn't post again leaving everyone else who was active to sit and wait for him in this standstill.

I have to agree on preexisting characters. Pre-made characters and character slots may seem to drive the initial plot more easily than trying to connect characters who are perfect strangers together. However, it can be a huge source for arguments if someone picks a character and doesn't portray them in a way the RP creator would like. Ever try to be an icy-hearted jerk in a romance RP who never lets up?
Honestly though if you create preexisting characters for an RP then why drag other people into it? Just put thoughts to a word processor, write a story, and cut the middle man out.

Well the problem we see with them is that with preexisting characters people chose them and make an account for them because they like that character and can do no wrong. That can lead to serious GMing a good percent of the time.
The reason they are allowed is because the creator didn't say that they weren't or where so it's a deal with it as it comes situation right now. But in the past there has been troubles with them especially on different guilds. It was sort of fun just sitting back and watching the drama unfold on this guy's profile as soon as he submitted it. I wish I could read it again but the idiot guild captain decided to change profile set up and instead of just having people revamp their profiles he deleted them all then announced what he had done.
I can understand if they were simple profiles but no these things were two page long in depth profiles that asks you the dumbest questions that you really can't evaluate for yourself. That pissed me off to the point that I had to quit.

Ok, because I know my textually aggressive/abusive nature bothers people. I've been trying to work on only inflicting that on people who deserve it.

He actually posted back. I kind of don't want to post back at him and just let his ignorance be a testament to why no one is going to ******** play his game.

So the main reason he wasn't letting anybody do things a different way was so that he could have the sheets in his hands to change as he wished? I would say it was reasonable on your part.

What's tripping me out is the obvious. o_o;; The players are still going to have copies and it's still going to take the same exact amount of making sure everything matches up.
Or the fact that he's pretty much ignoring my points as he's full of s**t and patronizing.

Laertes Ursus ...makes sure there is absolutely no possibility of cheating, unless I do it. That line is seriously bugging me... To my understanding, this is a D&D RP guild, let me know if I'm incorrect. Isn't the point of any rp to have people make their own characters the way they choose?

Thank you for quoting me.
To make my point, I have been running tabletops of various genres and systems over several media for the past... Gods, eight years. Didn't realize it was that long. But I digress. In that time, I have run with many people, most of which I didn't know very well at all when the game started.
Every now and again, I'd find someone... bending the rules, so to speak. The most common rule-bending was sheet alteration. They'd change something on their sheet so that when I called for a specific roll, they'd have a significant advantage, one they didn't have before. And when I'd inevitably voice concern over the inconsistency, they'd pass it off as 'miscalculating'. As a side note, I do understand miscalculations, they happen all the time. I try to n** that problem in the bud with extensive auditing of the sheets. When it's not error and in fact is an illegal change in the sheet, however, there becomes a problem.
This time around, I decided I would hold the sheets to control any changes made to them. When I mentioned myself cheating, it was more of a joke than anything else. I tend not to screw with peoples' sheets, barring inventory adjustment due to thieves or mysterious gifts. Usually, if a change is made to a sheet, it has the player's full knowledge and will. A good example would be spending Karma. A player tells me they want to increase their Pilot Ground Craft by one rank, I make the change.
In short, I'm not going to take your sheet and randomly change around things on my whim. I'm just going to make sure that you don't do it.
But thanks for making me out to look like some kind of horrible monster. That means a lot to me.

But thanks for making me out to look like some kind of horrible monster. That means a lot to me. Wrasynth Ksyamen You do realize everyone at some point, either intentionally or not, cheats. Doesn't matter what you're doing. You realize then that the illusion of security or control is just that. Society works based on general cooperation and avoiding general ********. This is like air port security, this is only about making you feel better instead of working with players. Taking the responsibility that everyone holds collectively to making the game fun. Trying to do it as efficiently as possible as well. Which according to Captain Obvious is "Too ******** late,". Now for brutal honesty time. You're an example of an over bearing story teller. The evidence is simple. No one wants to play with you because no one trusts you. Quickly, some one define irony. Quote: Do enjoy the reference to Airport security... dear god, some of the s**t they do there. [9:59:10 PM] Anonymous: but yea... its' like 'btw, I don't trust you ******** enough to mark stuff as I want it, so I'm keeping all the data' [9:59:23 PM] Anonymous: which also means it's harder for the players to quickly look up stuff This is an example I took from a skype chat talking about you. I didn't edit this (besides the name for obvious reasons) post this because I tell people what I think. I have other people complaining about you indirectly. You're literally the example of pet peeves and what not to do in another guild. This isn't about making you feel worse, it's not a terminal prognosis. I'm trying to address this issue with you honestly; instead of contentiously flavoring our interactions with passive aggressive behavior; or worse yet just ignoring it. As the fact is you want to run a game and are dragging this dead hooker (I could of said horse.) through the street and in front of other people. What you do with this is your deal, I do feel that this is enough airing of dirty laundry though. If you want to talk further contact me on a messenger service or PM me. If you don't cool beans. This is however how you assertively hold a conversation over a conflict with out being immature. Minus the swearing and immature references... However that's what I do... >_>;; Cease your ******** this instant. Now for MOAR honesty time. 8 years? That's nothing. Not like a little nothing, I mean a lot. I've been running and RPing for about half again as long. Which is to say 12 years roughly (Not counting the 16 years I've been I've been RPing. Starting around the approximate age of 9ish.). Even then, that's nothing compared to the 30 year veterans. Secondly, you're full of s**t looking for drama on my door step claiming I've made you to look like a monster? I didn't make Anything, you did this all to your self. I, in fact went out of my way instead of tossing you onto an ignore list. Do not harass my friends with your dramatic bull s**t or I will stop being nice. Do you understand?
