Yea, maybe I'll just throw out a few ideas, and I'll refer anyone who wants more to me.
I always think it's fun when people have premeditated crushes and what not. That way there's more interesting dynamics. :]
I think I'm going to be all four characters that I mentioned. ;3

Ah, but much of the etiquette guide is common sense things such as to conform to the norm of an RP thread to determine minimum suggested grammar use.

LillianSaire Ah, but much of the etiquette guide is common sense things such as to conform to the norm of an RP thread to determine minimum suggested grammar use. If that was really common sense, then why would it need to be in the guide? If it was common sense, people would already know it.

Oh, I thought that was the problem and why a simplistic guide had to be created to fix the problem.

I'll have the tavern up and running tonight hopefully. :]
I'm also going to get all my profile reviews in this weekend and start putting my teams together.

It is. Also why it wasn't common sense. Common sense would dictate that generic, overpowered characters aren't made without a reason. And yet characters of that type are the bane of Gaian RPers. I've been roleplaying for 16 years, since I was 9, and not one of those guides would have been useful for that entire pen and paper career. The only possible exception would be Phaeton 2's gun guide. It is endlessly amusing that people that bring themselves to Gaia and have never touched a pen and paper roleplay NEED these things to function.

I think it may be because there is no tutorial or person to explain how roleplaying is intended to work.

And yet we have all these Gaians that consider themselves 'literate' or 'advanced literate' roleplayers.
But of course there are tutorials. Every pen and paper roleplaying game has an explanation of everything you need to know right in the sourcebook. Heck, most of them even have example characters and step by step guides on how to create your own.

No, it's why Gaians need to quit doing things backwards. Coming straight onto Gaia and trying it this way just handicaps a person. It's like chopping off your own legs and then trying to run a marathon.

They may have never heard of roleplaying before Gaia.

Most guides I've seen are basic aspects of literacy (grammatical and what not) and general 'what not to do while role playing'.
What what not to do really comes down to intelligence and common sense in my opinion, because anyone who has both of those things should be able to come up with a proper character.
As for literacy, the role playing on gaia can be quite horrid just because the standards are set so low. Not only that, but people think that writing ten paragraphs about generic 'scene kid a' is role playing.

LillianSaire They may have never heard of roleplaying before Gaia. Are you really going to tell me that you know people that have never heard of Star Wars, Star Trek, or Dungeons and Dragons?
