"I'm glad," Kisa said, smiling a little. Then she turned to go. "Please excuse me. I'll be in the forest, if you wish to find me later." She walked back to the house.
Shane nodded. "I forgive you," he said to Kisa. Then he turned back to Hope. "What were you saying?" he asked, smiling to her.

"Because you're a wonderful person," Shane said. "You're wonderful and I love you." He could see why Kisa had gotten upset, if Hope had said this around her. Kisa had always hated this kind of talk.
