That Soul Society arc is so bloody long. razz I remember when I watched it in Japanese, it just felt like it dragged on for sooooo looooong. It was a good arc, but man, it was exhausting. razz
And that wasn't a piece of her soul was it? I thought it was some kind of thing that was implanted into her as a... well, it's been a while.

It was implanted in her through the geigai, but then it became apart of her soul & there were only two ways to get it out.

Even as far as the manga is, Rukia hasn't died yet. She does have a release for for her zanpakutō though, who knew?
