Bard's strangely sculpted ears weren't just for looking good, though they did that rather nicely as well, they were also quite good at hearing things, especially loud things. A good example of something loud that the purple-haired man could hear was a very angry voice somewhere near-by. Unfortunatly for Rivener, Bard's reaction was not one of fleeing, but that might have been because he couldn't even see the floating thing at the moment.

Turning about, Bard tried to figure out which direction the yelling came from before deciding that the way he'd been going would be a good way to go. Wriggling though stalls in hopes of getting to the scene as fast as he could so he wouldn't miss anythig, he finally came upon the scene of quite an angry black and red thing yelling at a little kid.

No doubt the kid had done something to deserve the yelling, but Bard was sure some woman would come to the kids rescue at any moment and scold the interesting looking floating thing.

Bard himself just stood off to the side with his hands stuffed into his pants pocket and a sort of funny smile looped on his face.

A little excited, Jae tied the balloon to the strap on her bag, and handed the small boy $30. "Go ahead and keep the change!"

Pausing, she fished the pin out of the bag and pinned it onto her bag strap as well.

"Hey, idiot, let's go! I want to do some shopping too you know!" Jun called out, slightly annoyed. He actually had good intentions, just a rough way of showing it.

Jae Eun turned and gave a friendly wave towards Isi and Eiry as Junsu dragged her away.

"He has got to be the cutest little thing ever!!" Jae beamed, bouncing along.

"Oh..." Sevilin's cherry red lips formed a soft pout at the rejection. But it was such a pretty flower. His bout of woe didn't last long(they never did) as Vyn came beside him. "Oh yeah sure! There's plenty of room..." His amiable smile softened and his eyes unconsciously fell to the Frei's swollen chest. He wasn't used to girls that much, so he was always curious when he saw one. But he didn't know why he couldn't look away. They were like magnets! He wrinkled his little nose and turned his head forcefully, a ruddy glow lingering across his cheeks. Oh no, he was turning into We`rika!

Completely embarrassed he buried his face in the lily he had been absently twirling. He inhaled the calming scent and brushed the velvety petals with his fingertips, leaving salty due droplets on the white petals.

Sevilin looked up at Ebony, startled by her sudden question. "Kinds? Well... humm I guess so jes like each person is different I guess... I'm really not sure how many there are..... I haven't met that many yet..." He admitted embarrassed. he was one of the older Frei and yet felt as if he was surrounded by a plethora of strangers. Changing the subject, the sea nymph handed the white lily over to Ebony. "Here! You want it? Don't worry about paying, I'll make my guardian pay when he comes to pick me up!"

Tyson's smile which he had been flashing to the other as he came across what would make him feel better immediately vanished as the dark shadow of Rivener casted over him. The cheeriness that regularly bubbled inside his small body vanished without a trace as the blood curdling cry of rage and hate hit him hard and shook his limbs upon impact.

His eyes widened, in painful shock and twisted surprise as he struggled to recover his forgotten senses. "O-Oh..." Tyson replied, his voice shrinking tenfold, while his hands fell to his sides.

"Okay." With that quick reply, the young lad was off running in the other direction. What he had seen before him had terrified him almost to the brink of tears. Those dark features that Rivener possessed had actually screamed murderer. Seeking comfort and his fallen joy, Tyson kept up his quick pace, not looking back for fear of seeing that face again. Surely he would find Alex...or Lil...or someone who wasn't hiding behind a false mask.

Okay, now Ebony could not, try as she might, contain the need to smile to that. This Raevan was so darn adorable, the slight blush of looking at the other shadowy Raevan's busty chest not lost on her. If she could, she would have stolen that Raevan right then and there. But of course, Ebony fought temptation. Besides, it said it had a guardian and it would be shameful to steal such a...delicate flower from it's owner.

Slender fingers wrapped gently around the white flower's stern stem as she tipped it towards her nose to take in the smooth scent. "It is awfully beautiful...are you sure? I wouldn't want to get you in trouble with your guardian..."

Julian was not a person who regularly wore his emotions on his sleeve. Strict in conduct, he rarely showed anything other than casual distain or blunt indifference to the point one could only wonder just how human he really was. Logically, there were those uncommon circumstances in which something was so striking that it caused a spark inside of him he could not manage to snuff out, but the events that followed were never enjoyable ones. The young scientist had systematically gone through ever reaction he could have in face of Aphismet's words, and ultimately decided he was experiencing emotions and it was time to cause some unpleasantness.

He closed his eyes, smirking sleekly as both hands adjusted his tie and then his only slightly out of place blazer. When he rose, he moved fluidly; he could not help but appear more social connoisseur than butler as the former was more or less in his genetics. "In the future, Mr. Aphismet, it might be wise to not offer me any refreshments. I am grateful, of course, but it won't stop me from-"

Coincidentally, a familiar lady and her not so familiar friend arrived at that time and Julian was never given a chance to complete his sentence. Instead, he spoke another that fit nicely with Natsuki's friendly teasing, though it was nowhere near as positive in meaning.

"I'm sure he does." Without really meaning to, he had clenched one hand into a fist. He knew just how to fold his fingers and where to position the thumb, more by instinct than by training. Finally, it was becoming clear to him he had every intention to break one or more of the other man's bones for a simple curse word.

That simply would not do at all. Julian had such a thing as a reputation to consider above all else.

A few steps took him to where Natsuki was standing, and a simple grasp of the back of her head had their lips connected. The forced kiss lasted all of five seconds, but it was intense enough and outspoken enough for Julian to feel much better after it was completed. Unlike when he had the intimacy purchased at the Kissing Booth at the last festival, there was something more in the action than mere pressure. His tuxedo was absolutely stifling, Aphismet had acted like Julian had overstepped his boundaries, and the last thing he wanted was for anyone to know other than the woman he chose to take a good deal of it out on.

The five seconds ended, and Julian stalked off elsewhere on the festival grounds.

Lorenzo all but preened, fluttering his wings as the pretty woman blew him a kiss. With a noise that could have been a sigh, his large eyes lidded, he settled back down to his post donning an almost Gwee-like smile. Alex could have sworn she saw hearts over his head, and it was all she could do not to laugh at the little dragon.

The mirth died swiftly, her jaw also falling agape at the words uttered by the usually soft-spoken man. That wasn't the Aphismet she knew, but then again, he'd been different the last time they'd met as well. Snapping her mouth shut - that was no way to meet someone, even by her strained standards - Alex loosened her grip on Natsuki's arm, so that she might not cling to it with force at the situation that was about to be had. She was bad at meeting people, as she was sure Aphismet could attest to.

Alex nodded politely to the man Natsuki addressed as Julian, feeling exceedingly underdressed in front of him. She was starting to feel okay, like she could do this, when Natsuki mentioned Aphismet kissing Chloe and Julian apparently felt the need to share the same with Natsuki. She instinctively released her friend's arm, shooting a wide-eyed glance to the other man before swiftly moving out of Julian's way as he stalked off.

The woman looked blankly between Aphismet and Natsuki, putting her hand on the shoulder of the latter before remarking, "I really don't understand how you don't have more of them doing that." It was her weak attempt at breaking the thick ice that seemed to have been left by Julian's frigid departure.

With a huff and a heave, Lonni tugged over her steel case that held her big professional camera. Well, technically it wasn't hers perse, it was the studio's camera. One of the studio's 'big' client had ordered a special series on the Summer Festival held by Doctor Kyoupiruchi. Deep down inside, the short plain woman suspected that the wealthy client was really just a well off stalker of Lab 305 but hey, orders from the top. Since all the other phorographers were busy with bigger works, the job of attending this highly anticipated event was given to her, the lowly back-up, last resort, oh-no-we're-too-close-to-deadline photographer, Lonni Woodsworth.

"Let'see now," the brown haired woman said as she tugged the camera out from it's case. Checking her equipment to get it ready for use, Lonni lifted her simple and plain looking face to look at the crowds.

Her jaw dropped.

There was absolutely NO way was she going to bring back photos of woman in bikinis while men waltzed around in aprons and nothing else! Granted, there were a few decently dressed people strutting around, but the ratio of the scantily clad beings and the normal looking people was alarming.

"Oh no," she moaned quietly to herself as she sunk to the ground with a small squeak. Her first big assignment in a long while and this was what she had to work with!

"What am I gonna tell the boss? Oh no."

Fretting, Lonni fumbled with her camera nervously, brown eyes wandering over the people as her mind tried to chug out a plan.

"How can I take a decent photograph when everything is like this?!" she finally shrieked quietly to herself as she flung her face skywards.

Rivener harrumphed in victory as the kid ran off. He lowered back to normal floating height and smirked, crossing his arms and fluttering his wings back into place. He was very smug, all of a sudden. Gazing around, the Raevan frowned at the thinning crowd. "Anyone else?" he asked defiantly. He'd only been here for like an hour and he'd already had quite enough of this whole thing.

Aphismet startled himself when Julian got up and began speaking in that somewhat threatening manner. He startled himself because he wasn't feeling scared so much as outraged. Who the hell did Julian think he was? He was a stupid student, too scared to step out into the real world, hiding behind books and excuses of "I need to learn more". He'd been about to say so when two women- Alex and the girl who'd operated the music booth at the Birthday Party- approached.

Aphismet blushed at the comment about him kissing Chloe, and he struggled to think up an answer when Julian kissed the woman! Right out of the blue! Aphismet quirked an eyebrow, lips turned down into a half-scowl. What the hell did he do that for? God, this Julian was so chaotic. Aphismet had been about to say something when Julian once again beat him to the punch, stalking off moodily.

Aphismet crossed his arms, and settled a still-slight-frowning gaze on Alex. "What is wrong with that man?" he asked in a huff. "He acts like he owns- OW!" Aph winced and reached up, pulling Munchies out from under his bandanna; she'd woken up and chewed on the lock of hair in her mouth, pulling Aphi's scalp. She waved her tail around at being out in the open in a new place, and squirmed in Aphi's hand, wanting to be set free to explore. For the moment Aphi ignored her, continuing to speak to the women. "Is he your boyfriend or something?" he asked. "How does he know Chloe?"

Natsuki winced when Julian spat out another sarcastic retort. Considering how their last conversation ended, with the pair of them covered in sticky beverages at the Birthday Bash, she wasn't the least bit surprised, though it didn't sting any less. Before she could say another word, Julian dragged her forward by the back of her head, and planted a kiss on her. It's sheer intensity made her weak in the knees. Unlike their kissing booth kiss, this one was unsanctioned and far more potent.

Her thick lashes popped opened and quickly fluttered shut, as she gripped his jacket lapels for support; clearly shaken by the longest five seconds of her life. Natsuki's lips trembled, as anxious breath grated within her. Breathless and speechless were the only two words that could describe the fiery redhead. When he stalked off without so much as a single word to her, waves of anger, curiosity, and frustration washed over. What exactly what that supposed to mean?!

Alex's flattering comment, shook her back into the conversation. Her procelain complexion flushed a brilliant red, and a storm brewed within her gray eyes. "I-- I mean-- h-he- isn't-- wait-- what just happened," Natsuki babbled, the swarm of emotions impairing her abilitiy to formulate a sentence. Her shoulders slumped forward, and she shook her head. She looked at Alex with an imploring look, but decidedly took a step back, in embarrassment.

"Julian isn't my boyfriend, Aphismet," Natsuki said, feeling tears of confusion welling up in her eyes. Her generally bubbly voice, turned flat like three day old soda in a matter of seconds. "I have no idea what possessed him to do that. He and Chloe are colleagues of Dr. Kyou's Lab. I'm going to... go..." she continued, pointing in the direction Julian marched off to. She needed damage control, and needed it quickly. Natsuki's high heels clicked on the stone walkway as she hustled away, covering her face in embarassment.

At the Raevan's question, Bard slyly stuck his hand up as if he were the smart-aleck kid in class about to tell the teacher what bananas were really for during sex-ed. When and if Riv caught sight of the purple-haired man, which Bard thought was likely since the other's sharp eyes seemed to challenge even the weather as they scanned the crowd, Bard would lower his hand back into his pants pocket and stride over to the drink booth. Oh yes. Striding was very cool.

Bard stood and pondered for a moment infront of the stall, deciding upon what tastey drink he would order from the grouchy helper. "Let's see. I guess I'll take a whiskey sour," Bard said, delighted with his decision before realizing that this place probably wasn't going to serve alcohol. Most events like this didn't.

Wrinkling his nose in distaste, Bard looked at Rivener and asked sweetly, as if nothing had ever happened, "What do you recommend?"

Fangs was growing irritated. The feline did not like large groups of people, especially large groups of people where Bard just kept running into more men. Bard may not care what he was getting into, but Fangs refused to snuggle anything that wasn't nicely endowed in the upper regions. It's just more comfotable that way, Fangs thought to himself. Fluttering his wings and sitting up on Bard's head, the creature no longer looked like some black ball of fluff on a purple cloud, but that didn't mean he looked any more threatening.

"Hmph." Her smugness upon finally finding a booth empty of milling crowd people and snotty volunteers alike manifested itself into a singular, short, exhalation of breath. As with the other booths, large canopy tents streched above, covering the entire area beneath it in shade, helpfully making it at least ten degrees cooler than the sun-drenched areas.

Largely oblivious to or uncaring of the drama unfolding at the other booths, Shuura approached the empty one. As she neared, she noticed the booth's overhanging sign and snorted at the irony. To all appearances, it would seem like she had finally found the date auction booth, and it was void of people. Here, Shuura closed her UV-blocking black parasol and dumped it unceremoniously onto the empty table, and, plopping herself into one of the vacant chairs behind the booth and rolling up the sleeves of her coat, promptly began the vigorous task of aplpying sunscreen on the only areas of her exposed at the moment; namely, her hands, arms and face.

The Rosy Raevan gratefully entered the shaded area behind the booth, long ebony ribbons twirling behind and around her like the skirt of a ballroom dress. She caught the gaze of other Raevan and unflinchingly held it until he turned away, noticing that his face had turned the color of the flower in her hair. This gave her pause, as it was something new. Plenty of the walkers (as she referred to them) had reacted to her like this before, but one of her own kind had never had. Dark eyes glowering softly, rosy rune dimming in her confusion, her leathery, bat-like wings stopped flapping as she considered carefully.

"It's a sign of weakness," her guardian had told her once, "They want something you but they can't get it, so they're ashamed."

Weakness...? And why were they ashamed? Embarassment was something the graceful raevan was largely unfamliar with. Did that mean that, she had....power, over them? Vyn wanted to try.

Despite the fragrance of the other flowers piled around the booth, the air was suddenly filled with the scent of roses as Vyn drifted just a bit more closer to Sevilin. Wordlessly, she pointed at a bucket filled with pink primroses, a questioning look at the Oceanic Frei in her ebony-amber eyes. Would he give those to me? Vyn waited, the long dark lashes framing her eyes lowered slightly against the glare of the sun.

Alex looked wide eyed between Natsuki and Aphismet, opening her mouth to reply to one and snapping it shut when one answered. This wasn't quite the discomfort she had been expecting, but she already knew that she couldn't count on those affiliated with the Lab to be...normal. Maybe that wasn't the right word, but it seemed to fit in this particular situation.

Her confused green eyes looked into Natsuki's stormy grey ones, making her heart lurch. Alex didn't like to see that look in her friend's eyes, it was too much of a reminder of that night she'd been called to the bar. She reached a hand out to the woman, but Natsuki had already turned and walked away before Alex could do more than let her friend's hair slip through her fingers. The woman very near went after the upset red-head, but decided against it when she saw what direction the other was heading in. She'd keep an eye out, regardless.

Taking a deep breath, Alex looked over to Aphismet, a small smile pulling at her lips as she saw Munchies. "I don't know who that man was, but if he hurts Natsuki, we're going to have...problems." She shook her head a little, moving to stand by Aphismet so she could watch Natsuki and hopefully soothe the young man. "I thought I'd see you here," she said brightly, smiling widely. "Besides the obvious," she jerked her thumb in the direction of the retreating man, "how're things going?"

It was hot. Although for most the temperature would've been just right, the summer sun beat down on Zephrnyx's pale skin uncomfortably. Despite his weakness, he wore a a white tank top and low-sitting black pants, slightly torn at the knees and revealing slender, white legs. To ward off the suns rays, he held up a small umbrella - it was rather effeminate, but it did the job. his hair was also tied up and his bangs fell across his face- flutting around now and then as the breeze tousled them.
A piece of paper fluttered attempted to get past him, and he reached over and grabbed it. Smoothing it out, he noticed it was a flyer for a summer festival hosted by Lab 305. a while back, a huge explosion had racked the Lab, and now as he noticed it, they were raising money to rebuild it. There was no doubt that he'd be passing by, it was just a short detour from where he was heading to. The only problem was that he was busy- his work had called him in to give him information on his next investigation, and was to get on it, as soon as possible.
I suppose I could do some research while I'm over there he thought to himself. He had brought his laptop-thing along, so it wouldn't be hard to set it up and have fun at the same time. So, at the corner, he took the next left, and after a couple minutes, ended up at the festival.
His eyes widened in childish excitement as he looked around and saw the festival bustling with activity. He headed over to a near booth- called the "Petting Zoo". An array of beautiful creatures met his eyes and after reading the rules, he decided to enter his name into the "Adopt Me" raffle. And so, he made his SHOT OF LAUGHTER.

Sam had been unsettled slightly by the raevan’s outburst, but it had obviously been annoyed. He wondered if he should go find that kid and see if he was okay, not trying to jump off a cliff to get away or anything. Sam turned his attention back to Rivener. He remained silent for several seconds after his question of, “Anyone else?” to prove that he wasn’t going to be a thorn in his side that needed to be gotten out.

I-” just as he was about to order again, another interruption.

Excuse me,” he said hotly, “In modern society there’s something called a line that people use. You get in the back of it and wait your turn to get served. It’s what separates humans from animals, although I’m sure that doesn’t make a difference to you. However, it also keeps people from punching each others’ faces out. Comprende?” Sam struggled to keep his voice level with the man and he was very clearly unhappy.
