She turned to C.B., looking happy. "That felt good."
Coby frowned, sending forgetfulness to Bolath. "You found no one. Your foot ninjas died in the shadows behind you. We were not here."

"That's a pretty nifty power." C.B. said. "But even if she doesn't remember, we have to finish her off soon, or else every one else will suffer. God, that snake thing's cool! I just... I mean, I think it is so awesome! I watched all these snake movies as a kid, and I liked 'em, I mean, God! Let's let Bolath wander on back to Foot Tower. She'll remember what she was doing soon enough."

Iris smiled. "it's great to have an admirer. This is Wrath." she said, stroking the boa. it tenderly slid off of C.B. and slipped around her neck. "i've got a rattler named Sloth, a python called gluttony, a cobra called lust, an anaconda called greed, a watersnake called envy, and a cornsnake called pride. i've also got faith, hope, charity, fortitude, justice, temperance, and prudence, The sins and the virtues. The fourteen breeds that i favor."

"So what say we all go inside and have a drink to celebrate? For the moment, anyway." Although his enemy was gone, C.B. could not help but feel uneasy. He knew Bolath would come back, and neither he- nor anyone else- could stop her alone. But he would die if he had to. He thought it was kinda fitting, to die killing Bolath. He had done many wrongs. He had hunted his own species, he had betrayed many former friends. He even knew a few mutants and had taken them in when money was tight. "I should die." He whispered this under his breath, but he sensed they probably heard him anyway.
