Clouds wings shifted and she stared away from Ryuu. They were orders and so she had to obey. She hopped down from the tree landing on her feet.

"Wait, your not acually going to kill them are you?" Ryuu jumped down and stood infront of Cloud. He stared at her.

"the king has given me orders" she said "his majesty does not take kindly to disobedience"
She stared back at him with a strange look on her face. He was suprisingly calm considering the cituation. Cloud wondered how long it would last.

Ryuu couldn't belive what he was hearing. He breathed in, trying to keep his temper down but couldn't. "What!? Your on his side!? Why? All he does is hurt people and take away everything they have!" Ryuu growled and punched the tree angrly. He needed to take it out on something. "Your not serving him Cloud."

Cloud watched him punch the tree and she heard it cry in pain. She held his arm keeping it away from the tree. There was no need for him to hurt it when his anger was towards her.
"why" she said "because unlike you i couldnt escape. I begged for mercy. He spared me so that i could serve him. The wounds on my back are just a little reminder of what i am missing"
She stared at the ground and then looked away from Ryuu.
"i didnt want to die Ryuu" she said "so like a dog i pleaded with him. Like a coward i ...took the easy way out"

Ryuu looked at her. "Those marks were from him?" He clenched his fists. "I'll help you get out of this Cloud." He felt like punching himself. He had left her. His dream came back to him. He was a failure. This was all his fault. If he hadn't have been so selfish and left to save himself, she wouldn't have to go through this. "I'm sorry Cloud. I didn't want this to happen to you."

"it is already done Ryuu" she said "you can't save me. If i disobey him he will kill me. I have killed for him many times to escape that fate."
But it was not her intension to escape that fate this time. She would not kill the humans who had entered the woods. Perhaps they were the ones who could succeed where she had failed.
"we all have to die someday Ryuu" she said "my day is fast approaching"

"I'm fine." Saku said to Anna and turned to the backpack that held the captive dragon.
"You can come out when we get to my room. Come on." She went up to the door and knocked then opened the door slowly.
"Mom? I'm home."
"Where have you been? Your principal called and said you skipped school again today." Her mother said. Saku winced. Whoops.
"Never mind that now. Who are your friends?" She asked.
"Mom this is..." Saku stopped, realising she never asked for their names.

Ryuu looked away from her. "You wont die. I wont let you." He didn't know wether he should go with her, to protect her, or not. He vowed he would one day defeat the king and never serve him. But if he went with Cloud, everything he ever worked for would be usless.

"stop worrying about me" she said "and start thinking about your own destiny. I expect you to kill the king for me. I will be delivering you three helpers"
Cloud smiled at him and then chuckled. She quieted herself after her more nervous laugh. Turning her head to the side a bit she stared out into the trees then upward at the sky.
"i never told you why i was in the woods" she said "me and my two friends had been recruited to kill the king. When you found me lying there nearly dead we had been fighting against his soldiers after freeing Zenik. My friends died and we failed. When you left it wasnt long before the king found his most hated enemy lieing in bed unable to move much"
Cloud turned to look at Ryuu again. Her eyes locked with his.
"i guess what im trying to say is that" she paused "maybe these three can succeed where I failed. Train them for me Ryuu and show them the entrance"

"I'm Kyo." He did a small bow.---------------------- Ryuu nodded slowly, staring at her. He didn't want her to go. "Ok. I will train them and kill the king for you."

"I see. Pleasure to meet you." Saku's mom turned to Anna. "I know you. You're Anna arent you? I know your parents. I met them a few months back." She smiled warmly. "My name is Rene`. Just think of me as your second mother. Saku, what's wrong. Are you in pain?"
Saku was hunched over holding her shoulder.
"Mom...Call the doctor. I think I broke my shoulder blade."
Rene` gasped and hurried into the kitchen.
"Take Jiyo upstairs. My room is the second door on the right. It's across from the bathroom." Saku said through clentched teeth.

Kyo looked at her worriedly. "Ok." He grabbed the backpack and went up to her room. He walked in and set the backpack on her bed, letting Jiyo out. Kyo looked around and sat in a chair.

"Doctor Carl is on his way." Rene` said and explained to Anna. "He's one of our neighbors. He's an excellent doctor and he makes house calls for us."
"Can my friends stay the night?" Saku asked.
"You mean what's left of it?" Rene` replied. "It's almost morning. But sure. I'll make up the guest room for Kyo...how did your clothes get all bloody?"
Crap! I'm getting careless. Sake thought and replied flatly. "Wolves."
"You were in the forest again I bet. Very well. Go change before Carl gets here." Saku groaned and headed upstairs.
"Either close your eyes or leave." Saku said. "I have to change."
