Kali blinked, and stared down at her left arm, or rather- her lack thereof. She considered telling him that she could feel it and use it as if it were there, and stick it through walls and such, but then she realized that for the first time since she had met him he had made a decision on his own.So she kept that little tidbit of information to herself, to save for later. Like those crackers in her bag...She grinned at him and nodded. "I can do that." She said, smiling. "Get climbing then, I don't want to be sitting here all day."

((Brian))

He smirked.

"Looks like we're a team, then. Good. Spaz, put on these gloves." He threw the slitted gloves to the clawed freak. Looks like Gena had known they'd meet him. Cool. He's a friend, then. Putting on his own pair, he tossed a single right-handed glove to Kali.

"You, too," he pushed, with a hint of apology. They would have to work together...for now. No fighting. Even though he was super-hot when he fought. Totally.

Pushing everyone clear, Brian swung the large...and dangerous cable overhead, trying to spot some kind of hook or ledge to land the hook on...

Aha! Up about 2 floors, a large metal hoop, about one foot in diameter, sat on the wall to his right, housing a single elevator support cable. Easy. There was plenty of slack in the rope, and plenty of room in the hook to make this work.

Once he locked onto his target, he let fly...

[Ringer Post]

s**t! The rope hit its mark alright, but slipped out of his ******** hands! NOOO! Falling down the hole and through the shaft, it began making its bullet-train ride into the complete oblivion below...he could see the disappointment on everyone's faces as he let it slide by...he had failed. The mission had failed...they would have to face the consequences...or worse. They could die...

He had failed...

NO. This would not happen. Snapping his hands outward, palms outstretched, Brian quickly barked, "SLOW!!!"

He was moving faster than the world around him...but only slightly...he could make out about a foot of tail still at the cart's edge. Dashing through the blurry landscarpe, he hooked his foot in the main cable and swung his entire body over the edge of the elevator, grasping furiously, but to no avail. To make matters worse, his newly-polished shoes couldn't hold fast, and soon he was falling...falling with the cable...suspended in time and air...floating.

He was moving faster than the hindered cable, and managed to slowly toy with its cable in midair.

Was he going to die for this cause...? Only time would tell. His quickly nearing destination loomed closer and closer...he had falled 3 floors already. The was a last ditch effort, but he swiped out with the hook part, blindly, scraping the wall for anything that would catch. He braced himself for the inevitable impact, squeezing his eyes shut. How could he be so stupid? ...Not even bothering to scream, Brian leaned against the grinding wall...

WHAM. His plummet was jerked to a halt, and the world around him resumed its normal pace. Pain wrenched in his right arm as he heard the limb completely disconnect itself...

But he hadn't hit the floor. No. He was hanging by flesh and muscle, right arm twisted in the floor 3 cable hook.

Ouch. ******** A...now he knew what Kali felt...sorta. Looking up, he gave a weak thumbs up at the two still high above him, resting in safety.

Ouch....

"Spaz! Buddy...I kinda...fell...s**t...could you come here....somehow? I need you to take this cable and pull me up...

At least he saved the rest of them from making a trip...

((Team 1))

No matter how hard they tried, the metal just wouldn't break. And with Ellisent nearing...maybe they needed to leave her?
PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2007 2:20 pm

"Holy s**t Brian!!" She dropped onto her knees and looked over the edge helplessly. She couldn't think of anything she could do to help, litterally nothing at all.
"Oh christ..." she ran her hands through her hair, pulling it from her face and letting it fall. "Spaz, do you thing you could get down there?" She looked at him pleadingly. She hoped he could, but she really didn't see how. Oh damn this sucked! Wait...maybe she could try to climb down... She bit her lip. But what if she fell too... She shook her head. She had spent one of the three months it took to get here climbing up a freaking mountain. She could handle this! ...sort of... She took the other glove, the left one, and stuffed her other hand into it.
"Spaz, when I get close enough I need you to help. I'm sure I can get him up a few floors." she pulled her hair out of her face with an elastic on her wrist, and dropped her bag on the elevator. "By the way, if that falls, I'll eat your head." She added as she clambered over the side, gripping onto any and all holds she could find. It wouldn't do to fall, oh not one bit. Then Spaz'd be up here all alone and she'd never get to beat the crap out of Brian!

...Kind of a hollow goal, but hey, technically she was saving his life for a good cause. He'd be alive when she was done, just slightly bruised is all.

Vixen's temper was flaring. Everything that was in her was boiling over now. She was beyond anything rational. Nothing sane was left in her. She wanted to yell at Emerald no matter how unconcious she was at the moment.

"What the ********, Emerald? Why don't you wake up or something? I mean, hello, Skip is hear trying to save you, and all you're gonna do is be all unconcious and stuff? I don't think so. You need to, like, do some healing thing or something. Look, he even stuffed the leaves down your throat for you."

Nothing much happend. No response or anything. Which, what did she expect, something magical to happen? By screaming at her, she would suddenly wake up and explain how it was all a joke. Not exactly. Vixen still wanted to hit her. Nothing too hard. No, nothing harsh. Her hands were still very much bruised. She slapped her, though. It felt rather nice. She wanted to slap her again, but this was one of those times when Vixen was going to practice her self-control.

It was at that moment that Skip noticed something very important. Emerald's chair was on wheels. It was a rolling chair! ((OOC: Refer to what was said a few posts ago about striking the metal... >.<)) That would explain why he was having a damn time keeping the chair still while trying to hit the metal. "Vixen, its on wheels! We can just move her into the elevator like this!" As he said this, he grabbed the headrest of the chair, and wheeled it to the door. He then peered out the room, looking for any sign of Ellisent. How to get out of this? He knew he could use Solace on a person, but could he do it with two people and a chair?

Before Brian had tossed the grappling hook, Spaz had managed to get his gloves on over his fingernails without forgetting what he was supposed to be doing. Now, as Kali was making a desperate effort to scale the side of the elevator Spaz decided he didn't want to be left out of the fun.

Walking over to the opposite side of the car, Spaz grabbed onto the I-beam at the side of the shaft--the one he'd previously used to get up there in the first place. He used his feet to control his slide down until he could see Kali on the other side beneath the elevator. He stuck his tongue out and blew a raspberry at her.

"I'm gonna wi~iin!" He taunted her with a laugh. Loosening his grip, Spaz dropped a good seven feet to a horizontal beam, then sprung across the length of the shaft, rebounded off the wall ((a la Casino Royale)), and fell another floor length before landing on the girder across from the fourth floor doors. He could see Brian directly below him, and gave him a friendly wave. With no regard for his personal safety, Spaz backflipped off the beam and dropped the last twelve feet, landing just above Brian.

"Hey boss, what'cha doin?"
PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2007 4:03 pm

Well, Vixen felt oddly unintelligent at the moment. Wow. Wheels. As in, something able to be moved because it's on wheels which makes it mobile. Fun. She followed quietly after Skip, pondering the depths of her stupidity. Were things always so simple? Eh, maybe she just favored destruction so much that she often complicated things. Fair enough. She stood still as Skip stopped, wondering about his thoughts. Probably the most important question was of Ellisent's location. This unknown knowledge could actually be quite dangerous, so whoever said that what one didn't know couldn't hurt them obviously had not been trapped in an insane asylum with a psycho as el presidente.

"Uh, Skip. Don't we need to go now?"

"Show off!!" She snapped as she landed beside him, sticking out her own tongue at him with a cocky smirk. She had done it, sure she had less theatrics than Spaz had, but hey, she still made it. "Spaz can you grab him without falling? We really should stuff his arm back into socket..." She said, eyeing the joint. "It looks really freaking weird. And painful, but mostly weird." She looked back up at the elevator. "Then we should get back up there and try again...maybe tie the rope onto something." She smiled at Brian with a glitter in her eye. "So we won't drop it and yank our head off of our necks." She giggled, poking fun at him to lessen her own fear. Yes, it was cruel, but life was like that so suck it up. "We can pull him up with the rope, if he can hold on tight enough with his good arm."
PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2007 5:24 pm

Obediently, Spaz braced his heels, reached down, and started hauling on the rope. He was pleased to realize the gloves protected his hands, and made the job a bit easier by giving him a better grip.

"DYNOMIIITE!!" He shouted, for no apparent reason.

Grasping hold of his stupid prize, he was now definitely glad that he had friends. He only hoped his left arm would hold; good thing he was left-handed...

((Brian))

Feeling himself being hoisted, he felt his grip hold tight. After a little bit of tugging, he was sitting on the hook, his dongling right arm hanging at his side. How the ******** did Kali get down with only one arm? Ugh...must be the experience with it...

"Thanks guys...I don't know what I'd do without you all. I saved the rope, though! Gotta be proud of me on that one! That way, you wouldn't have ********. *sigh...* Well, at least we have it. Okay. Now Kali. Mind telling me about that arm of yours? We sure as hell got the time, now...I have to say, I'm...curious. Blame it on me bein' a guy.
A super hot guy...So, care to tell us?"

As he waited for her story, propped on the metal loop, he took off his gloves and put them in his mouth, biting hard. Taking the now slack grappling hook, he wrapped the non-hooked end under his arm, around the deltoid and on the socket, following this pattern about 3 times. Then, he grabbed his end well. Sweat rolled down his forehead. There was nothing to worry about, right? This was just like in basic training...only he would di if this didn't work, and no one was there reading from a hand-me-down booklet. Sweet. 100% chance of suck.

Might as well give it a shot. Looking back up at the somewhat perplexed Kali, he shrugged.

"Ruh rottuh do rut rou rottuh roo, righ'?"

Why was he suddenly Scooby Doo?
