Nadils Head Linzy_Athena We don't really end up with a lot of band-lationships in our band... but apperently there's one this year 3nodding One of our trumpets is dating a trombone.. mind you my evidence is circumstancial... but hey, it's funny! Specially cause there a few years apart...and by a few I mean...4... stare eek Last year there was also this guy that everyone liked. I admit I may have had a small crush on him as well. He was gorgeous, and EXTREMELY musically talented! *drool* And I was the envy of the band because he sat beside me...so I got to talk to him and everything! Although that was short lived because he quit band for Lacrosse stressed Although I have to agree with everyones opinions on sax players... they are HOTT!!! (He played sax in case you can't tell!) All of the good-looking male sax players I have ever met (and I say this as a thoroughly straight guy) are philandering, womanizing man-sluts. And while there are always great people in band, my heart right now belongs to an un-person. Now (to get on-topic), being a freshman, I have of course only seen "band-lationships" that I was certain would never last more than a couple of weeks. And I'm always right. Not that it's a difficult feat, with ninth-graders. I have to say, though, that while I am very good friends with a lot of band people (the smart ones, anway), I have not actually wanted to date anyone in band since I was in seventh grade and willing to take anything that came my way. Not that it did. Regardless, I'm not sure what it is, but even though the more mature band members would theoretically be better matches for each other than anyone else in terms of sheer probability, the immature ones are the only ones that ever seem to date. I wonder why that is... We don't have any male saxes. Darnit. I think the reason the immature ones date is because they're insecure as well as immature. And they think having a boy/girlfriend makes them cool.

I pretty much only date guys in band. That's not a requirement of mine for a boyfriend, that's just the way it works out. My last boyfriend and I dated for over a year, and he was in band. So band-lationships are good xd
You find the sweethearts in band. Like the clarinet player I fancy now :X

yes, there are currently 3 Band-lations in my band, and all of them are long term. 2 of the couples have been going out for over a year, and the other couple(me and my bf-a drummer) have been going out for 4 1/2 months. Since me and my little drummer boy are the newest Band-lation, we get made fun of the most, but it's not a big deal, there just jealous. The funny thing is that all the girls play flute, and mallets, and all the guys are in drumline. But my bf is the only guy that's not graduating this yr. It's all really weird and complicated.

Over the weekend, when I was at jazz retreat, I saw one of our old trumpet players. He was actually our lead trumpet, and a senior when I was a freshman. He was going out with this senior girl (who was lead alto/bassoonist), but they apparently broke up back in October of 2004, and apparently now he couldn't care less if she's lying in a ditch somewhere dead. sweatdrop Interesting how these things work out... or, well, don't work out, as the case may be....

The DM uses the band as a dating service! Letsee.. she dated a trombone, she's dating an oboe, and flirts with every single male in the entire BAND! ESPECIALLY THE DRUMLINE! She doesn't do her duties, and when the band gets rowdy she doesn't care!! -wants to over throw the bad little DM- Yeah.. so its pretty bad....

-nod nod- Yup. My DM isn't that good at the sax, or the horn, but she does what my BD wants, so he keeps her on top of everyone else. It's pretty annoying. I don't see why her bf doesn't yell at her for flirting with everyone... hugs, and kisses, and little slaps, dirty little talk, too!!!

I"m glad i wasn't there for that....

Ooh! Ooh! Pick me!
My boyfriend and I (he's a baritone, I'm a trunpet) officially met on a band trip. He's on the Quiz Bowl team, as am I, but we'd never really talked until then. Anyway, we were coming back from a pep-band trip- it was voluntary, so about 65 people went. We've been on the road for about twenty minutes, and we start making out. Yup...
It also happened on the way back from a parade. But we had a spectator that time. This trombone player was staring at us, until my BF said, "You wanna join us?" The trombone looked startled and said, "Um, no thanks." "So stop staring!"
The trombone left us alone for the rest of the trip, heh heh...
