"Telijne Yarf!" Tien warned its friend. Brave the kun might be, but it was wary of the toddler. He was far too unreliable.
Theron blinked a moment as the bright kunkun went out of his range of sight. "Abu! Abu!" A look of confusion crossed his face as he looked around for Yaraif before she landed upon his head. Feeling something on his head Theron's eyes grew wide with surprise. His little hands shot up quickly to get whatever was there off.
Chuckling to herself, Trelweny shifted her glance between those present. "I sometimes wonder if so-called child language experts know anything about languages." Her grin broadened & her eyes twinkled. "If there was a manual children wouldn't be quite so much fun."
Keyna's tails swayed happily at the non-Theron cuddle buddy. Her little wings flapped once to get in a better position. It was fun making a friend that was not family. Brown eyes danced happily.

Yaraif darted out of the way just as a chubby hand decended upon her, giggling. "Ene baaaaaaaaaaybeeee!"
Progolo quirked an eyebrow. "I'd never thought of it that way. But I don't have any children, so I wouldn't know..."
Myrrh mimicked Keyna, happily fluffing her wings and swishing her tail in like suit. She was purring so hard, the wagon was beginning to vibrate.

Theron squacked an infantile protest; both a mixture of relief that there was no longer anything on his head & frustration that his hands did not capture anything. "Abu! 'immie!" He cried out, standing on tiptoe to reach for the kun. The toddler realized now that the fae-creature had been the thing upon his head. A look of determination crossed his little face -well, large to a kunkun. A hint of temper smoldered behind his eyes; not quite alight but threatening. Tien fluttered about, more concerned for its pelae than any thing else at the moment.
Trelweny did not see the warning signs, for the child's back was to the human adults. The look she gave Progolo was impish & sly. It cold possibly be taken as flirty in other situations, but was not it's intenent. Her left brow raised in humored quary. "Oh don't you? Yaraif's roughly the age of Tien I think... Not that Kuns ever 'grow up'... & Myrrh seems very young. At least to me. Children." She grinned. "Just not human children." A light chuckle arose in her. "No matter what the species or what guidlines have been told to us, there is no ll powerful governing law where they're concerned. Of course that's right back where we started. I'm good at talking in circles." Then she laughed.
From his resting place, Locke heard the note of warning in Theron's babble. Raising an ear & opening one golden eye the cait watched with some worry over Trelweny's son. A temper tantrum was more potential danger to the thrower than anyone else, & that was what worried Locke.

Progolo, though amused, did not agree with Trelweny's opinion, and his skepticism showed in his face. "I suppose Yaraif is a bit like a child, but I consider her as more of a companion than anything else." He glanced over at Yaraif, then down at the fluffballs seated happily in the wagon. "And Myrrh here...I don't know what to think of her. At first she was sort of like a pet, but I'm beginning to think she's bound herself to me, like a Kyunru. That's not terribly uncommon among griffins."
Yaraif could tell the game was afoot. This was where it got fun! With another heroic grin, she darted behind Theron and rested on the collar of his shirt, where she began to blow air on to his neck to irritate him.

That Progolo did not agree with her did not seem to faze Trelweny in the slightest. Perhaps if she had been speaking of something integral to her being or belief system his reaction might have effected her more, but what she had said had neither been very thought out or even that important. Mostly speaking her mind as her thoughts traveled along whatever path they would. Of course, now -after babbling- she was at a loss for what to say. So she smiled, nodded & gazed happily upon the griffin & her kyunru having what seemed to be a battle of who could love upon the other more.
When Theron missed grabbing Yaraif as she darted behind him, Locke could see the child's temper about to blow. However the tiny breaths of air upon his neck did not seem to irritate him. In fact, they tickled Theron immensely. Grin forming on his face, the toddler leaned his head into the source of the tickles. A wriggle of laughter crept through his young body as he succumbed to the tickling.
Tien seeing a new game squeaked with excitement. "Ero disa! Ero disa!" The kun flew to the child's ear & blew lightly, causing a burst of childish laughter-giggles as the laughter dam overfilled its borders.

Yaraif was a little disgruntled when she didn't get the desired effect, but this feeling quickly melted away as the prospect of a new, more friendly game arose.
"Sek, san disa!" Yaraif chirped. She shifted where she was and buzzed her wings against Theron's neck. "Tickles!"
Progolo felt a little awkward when Trelweny said nothing. Hoping he hadn't offended her, he cast around for something to say. "So...how many creatures do you look after, then?"

Trelweny smiled, pleased to have the change of topic. Well, partial change. Not that the previous topic was bad... just she had brain freeze on what more to say. At least without rambling. "How many? Let's see... after Tien there was Jezebel, then Aiden..." She started ticking them off on her fingers, not wanting to miss any. "Then Kiran..." She nodded towards the little pursekitty, who having given up on any chance of 'tag' being continued was singing & dancing to the tune 'Walking on Sunshine' spilling out of his mp3 player. "Then we found the little moomba Caylee washed up on the shores of the Port of Gambino. Then the talaye twins, Fidelity & Mirage joined our little family. On a walk, the ninau colt Timex found us..."
A funny tear-y look came over her, as she remembered the occation & how strange it was that a Ninau colt would so resemble her departed mate & have the same name. Idly she shook her head to get back to the matter at hand. "At Halloween we received a pumpkin that turned into a mini-kitsusagi, Trinity. I visisted an island & brought back the kinoko Gaia & Sol. Then at Christmas the Anubii faerie Bozi, Munin, Kylendei Celeb, another kinoko, Navi & a little Yeti I call Tashan arrived. Late February talaye Fred & George Weasley joined us, already full grown, & then kitsu Remus was 'reborn'. The three of them have lives they remember outside their current ones. Funny thing is, they remember each other too." Grinning, she rolled her eyes slightly before getting back on track once more. "I came across the Volu Niabi not long before I found Keyna's egg." She beemed down at the little kyunru who paused long enough in her 'purr-contest' to grin back. Love you. Love you too. "Then the monster-plushie, Blossom & our colorful kitsu Chroma. Of course Locke & Shippou, who are older than Theron... " She counted mentally; her eyes looking upwards & her head bobbing as she mouthed the count. "Wow. That makes 26. And that's not counting The housecats, Jazzy & JB. That makes 28." Trelweny blinked a couple of times over widened eyes. Letting out a heavy breath the young woman grinned. "I think if it wasn't for Myranda & her companion Grundle as well as the help of the more mature of the lot I wouldn't be able to cope at all."
Meanwhile the child was doubling over with laughter. Occasionally he would get a breather from the kunkun double tickle-attack & make a grab for one of the flying creatures, but for the most part he was occupied with mirth. Locke, watching, gave a sigh of relief & settled back down. It seemed the danger of a tantrum had been overted. I'll be glad when he learns to control that temper of his... & I know I'm not the only one!
((mer... I have two pets that I'm not sure if they can be 'family' or need to stay in their shop's seperate RPs but that I think of as being part of my 'family'... *pouts* so I left them out. Not that 26 isn't a lot... wow. 26. I didn't realize I had that many... O_o))

Progolo's eyes had grown steadliy wider as the woman listed all of the members of her family. When they could open no wider, his left eyebrow had lifted until it disappeared behind his long bangs, giving his face an almost comical look of incredulous and bemused surprise.
"And I thought Yaraif was a handful," he said, when Trel had finally finished.
Of course, Yaraif's attention could not be held for long. This was fun and all, but...her mind wandered back to their game of tag. Oh, right! She'd been it!
Darting around Theron, she suddenly rocketed in Locke's direction and collided with his furry chest, unable to stop herself at such a fierce speed.
"Tag!" She said, her mouth muffled in his fur.

Trelweny laughed. It was an odd laugh; not quite forced, but not neccessarily one from humor either. It was closer to a laugh of embarrassment or worry. "Most of the older ones help out, or at least take care of themselves. Although it does make our home quite... cozy." She smiled honestly, a true joy showing through. Despote her pain, her growing family brought much happiness.
"Umph!!"] The green cait was jolted by the small creatures impact. Taken aback & shocked rather than hurt, he checked first to see that the kun had not damaged herself as a kukun-canonball before darting off. With a flying leap over Theron's head he tapped Tien; unsuspecting because it had not left the 'new' game to return to the 'old'. "Tag! You're It, Tien!" The kun squaked it's protest. "Demo...? Disa? ... peh." Focusing her violet eyes she dived at Kiran. "Eyoon!"
Bopping along to his music, Kiran looked up only at hearing Tien's charge just in time to be plowed over by her momentum. "Tag!! San It!!" The kun crowed. Kiran shook his head, reorienting himself & gatherin his bearings. A grin spread across his face & he ran for Yaraif.

Yaraif darted over to Progolo, wailing with glee and excitement. "Hide Yauf, Prolo~! Hide ero!" She dove bodily into his long hair, wings abuzz.
Progolo grimaced. His hair and Yaraif's hyperactivity did not go well together...Many a time he'd found paint clinging to the long black strands, accompanied by glitter and tiny braids. "Yaraif-" he grumbled, trying to pull her out. Yaraif wiggled away, giggling.

Trelweny could not help but giggle at Progolo's new living hair ornament. In the wagon, Keyna was shaking with quiet mirth as well. It seems comfortable there. The Kyunru noted, implying that it was clear the kunkun did such a thing often. Nodding, Trelweny touched the edge of her sash to catch the tears of laughter that were forming in her eyes.
Undetered by the Easter kun's change of direction, Kiran shot like a racing yellow blur across the grass. With a flying leap he managed to land in the wagon beside Keyna & Myrrh. He lifted himself up on his hindlegs, looking for a place to lean his forepaws on Progolo's upper body so he could climb up after Yaraif. "No fair hiding! This is Tag!"
Theron, frustrated that all the cuddly animals were ignoring him decided to chase after Yaraif & Kiran himself. Laughing he ran to the wagon.

Progolo didn't exactly want a living MP3 Player or a toddler crawling all over him in addition to his kun-kun. She was annoying enough, but she didn't have the claws or size of the two now moving in after Yaraif. "Yaraif! Go play somewhere else!" he grumbled, finally catching her in a long-fingered hand.
Yaraif flailed and pouted, but Progolo's grip on her was strategic. "Prooooolooooooo~!"
"Shoo." He released her, pink from embarrasment. His long hair was obnoxious in more ways than one, but he really didn't have the heart to cut it. He had never cut it before in his life. Fortunately, it had stopped growing years ago, once it had reached a little past his waist, so it was still manageable.
She fluttered away, but halted when she saw Theron coming for her. Huh, what did the toddler want? "Aamha," she chirped quizzically, a bit taken aback by the fervor with which he was eying her. He wasn't it!

Holding her sash up to hide her mirth, Trelweny certainly understood the hassles of long hair management -especially where small flying creatures & toddlers were concerned. But then, that was why she kept her own knee length honey tressed up & braided. "Long hair can be a detriment around little ones, can't it? You wouldn't believe the number of people who suggested I cut my hair short after Theron was born."
Speaking of the toddler, Trelweny kept a sideways glance on him as Yaraif said hello. His small hands reached for her with intreating fingers. " 'immie! 'immie!" He did not speak much yet -apart from random full phrases- but the meaning was clearly an attempt at 'gimmie.'
Kiran pouted from his spot on the wagon. He had been looking forward to clamboring over the human male & was quite disappointed his fun had been derailed. Then he remembered his fun was supposed to be chasing the kunkun & the pursekitty smiled. He ran after Yaraif, not heeding that this action set him running directly at Theron as well.
From her comfortable spot, Keyna's brown eyes widened. oh dear...

Kiran ran full tilt into the toddler, causing both to blink in surprise. Theron being larger recovered first & laughed gleefully that a small fuzzy creature was near. With both hands he clasped the persekitty to him, lifting the tiny yellow creature from the ground with happy laughter. Suddenly alert, Trelweny excused herself to hurry over thinking she would have to rescue Kiran before her son hurt him.
Locke too was bounding over, though their worry soon seemed to be uncalled for as the toddler brought the dazed Kiran to his face & kissed the persekitty lightly on the nose. Breathing a sigh of relief, Trelweny smiled at her son. "That's right. Theron. Nice & Gentle. Very nice."
The child beamed with the praise, holding the animal out to his mother proudly. Holding her hands out, Trelweny gratefully accepted the still dazed Kiran. "Thank you. Theron."
Excited, the toddler ran about in a circle rather wildly then spun & fell down. Trelweny shared a look with the green cait. "Uh oh. Nap time. We should think about heading home." "Read my mind, Trel."
They gathered their family together, getting the sleepy ones into the wagon with Keyna. Sheepishly Trelweny smiled an apology at Progolo. "Sorry we have to leave so abruptly. I hope we can meet here again." She laughed lightly. "And next time I won't attempt to bring wagon up the clocktower."
With that she waved & set about seeing how to get the wagon lowered again.
Tien fluttered fretfully with Yaraif. "Ero eno idme tabas..." It pouted unhappily.
"Come on, Tien! There's new places to go & new pelae to meet so you have something to tell Yaraif about when you see each other again!" Trelweny knew what tempted her adventurous kun.
The kunkun's demeanor brightened, & it hugged Yaraif fiercely. "Nenen pelae Yarf! Rahna san!" With another light hug Tien realeased its friend & playmate to chase after its family. "Malan! Malan ero!"
