Well, it's about a world called Sylvarant and it's loss of mana. Mana is the source of all life. Without mana, crops won't grow, clouds grow dark, trees wither, and the land dies. Every once in a while, a priestess must go on a pilgrimage to release the mana seals and bring the world back to prosperity.
Of course, there are those who don't want this to happen. A group of half-elves, Desians, don't want the Chosen to release the seals, and do everything they can to stop her, and her party of friends. For some reason, the subbed version called them the Tethe'allans. They don't come into play until much later. They are called the Desians, keep that in mind. I played the game, and now I wanna watch anime. It's probably going to be long, like the game, which was an RPG, so it's going to be a long anime.
That's the long and short of it without any spoilers. ninja

My favorite anime of all time'd have to be Yu Yu Hakusho. It was the first anime I've ever got into and it has a special place in my heart x3
My current favorite that's my second fav at this point is Elfen Lied X3
