Wattson blinked. "Quite an odd move to use. Easily avoidable, laddie!" The man watched Magnemite over out of the way, floating to a position behind the Vulpix. "Show him what attackin' is all aboot!" With a stroke of his beard, he pointed again. "Let's use another Shock Wave!"
Yes. I say 'aboot' on purpose. That's what 'about' sounds like with a Scottish accent.

All that Nina could do was blink. She almost literally felt her body begin to go into shock. She slowly raised her eyes to meet with Maorde's. "You're lying... You're lying to me! You're just trying to get me all worked up over this, I know it!" Maorde sneered again. "Nina. Why in the world would I lie to you about something of this magnitude? And besides... take a look at yourself. You are intelligent, skilled at raising Pokemon whether you believe it or not, cunning, determined... And you are a murderer. You are identical to me, especially in the latter aspect." A chuckle escaped the man's mouth.
"Wait!" Whitney interrupted. "My mother and you... You can't be my father as well!" Maorde looked at the other girl in disgust. "No," he said. "You are the b*****d product of your mother and a man she met seventeen years ago." "Shut up, Maorde!" Nina yelled; "Don't you dare talk to her that way!" The man turned his gaze back to Nina. "No. Don't you dare talk to me that way. I brought you into this world, and I can just as easily remove you from it... However, I won't."

"Do... I dare even ask why you won't?" The man crossed his arms. "Because," he replied, "I feel as though you have gone through much pain recently, and I'd like to help you work through it.
Nina chuckled. "Thanks, but I don't need a therapist," she replied, sarcasm extremely evident in her voice.
"All right," Maorde said. "But... You cannot deny your feelings. You went on a maniacal spree for revenge on Giovanni to seek the retribution you believed was necessary for the slaying of Sabrina. But, you were met with opposition, weren't you?" He saw the girl nod. "And, remind me who your opposition was-- Oh, that's right! It was your friends! The ones who are supposed to care for you only interfered with what you had set out to do-- remove from existance one of the worst men in the world. They lied to you, Nina. They said that it would be for your own good to give up your path of destruction. But, like a fool you listened to them, and Giovanni is still out there, lying in wait to take more loved ones from you. And, I believe in my heart that none of your friends ever forgave you... Take for instance, your friend Mike. You needed to lose a battle to him before he forgave you. And what about Kilik? Well, it's evident he never forgave you either! The boy broke your heart like glass by teaming up with the man responsible for taking Sabrina's life!"
"Wait," Whitney asked, "how did you know--"
"Nina," Maorde continued, ignoring Whitney, "don't deny the lonliness and emptiness you feel inside of you. And don't deny the hatred for Giovanni that still burns in your being, because that very same feeling is inside of me as well. So, my dear... won't you come and help me eliminate that man?"
Nina's gaze was downcast the entire time that Maorde was speaking. Finally, she looked up.
"That sounds fine with me."

"More battles would be great, although I do want to get to Fuchsia," she said, doing her best to remain calm in the Crawdaunt's presence. She somehow sensed she'd never like those Pokemon. She didn't have much time to say anything else though, as her PokeNav sounded off once more, this time the tone telling her it was an actual call. She assumed that it was probably Kilik calling to tell her what was less than three.
"Yup, it's Kilik," she giggled as she turned the device on. "The cute boy with the Flareon. Err, uh, hello there, Kilik," she laughed sheepishly, seriously hoping he hadn't heard what she said.

"Quick Attack!" Ken shouted. Pidgeot took off like a bullet, traveling at the speed of sound, at slammed his weight into Karri's stomach. She gave a loud gasp of pain before retaliating with a Thunderbolt of her own. The yellow lightning crackled over Pidgeot's wings doing a fair amount of damage, but he was no where near finished.
"Aerial Ace!" Ken instructed. Confidence flowed though his voice naturally. Curving up in the air he came back down flying dangerously low to the ground before skyrocketing upwards and striking Karri hard. "Psychic Karri!" Mitsu instructed. As Pidgeot began to curve upwards agian a green aura covered the Pokemon and soon he was unable to control his own movements. Karri sent the bird Pokemon crashing into a nearby tree.
"Feather Dance Pidgeot!" Ken said seeing the boost in his stats would do the battle good. It would certainly give him the upperhand in this one. He was determined not to lose. Ken had never once lost to Mitsu and he didn't intend to now. The brown bird flew around performing an elegant dace. Snow white feathers appeared as Pidgeot shown with a brilliant shine and he was ready to continue the fight.

"Helios, move!" Keegan barked, slowly releasing the grip he held on his arm as the pain subsided. Helios ran forward, knowing he couldn't avoid the Shock Wave completely as he veered sharply to the left, the electric attack striking his many tails and hindquarters. Don't worry, Old Man, he thought, a smirk appearing on his lips. A few locks of red hair slipped down, covering most of his face. A grim look appeared in his green eyes for a moment as he stared down Wattson. I know perfectly well how to attack my opponents. "Helios, you know what to do!"
Helios stopped running, squaring his shoulders as he opened his mouth and blasted a furious jet of flames at the Magnemite - Flamethrower. Keegan looked up at Wattson just then, and smiled darkly. Dodge that one.

Kilik blinked for a moment at her voice. It had been a while since he heard it in person, and he had never exactly listened to it over the PokeNav before. Kilik looked at the couches and decided against sitting down. "I was calling to answer your question," he laughed, slipping a hand into his pocket, " If you look at the 'less-than three'," he explained, "vertically. It'll make more sense if you look at it vertically." The boy paused and then raised an eyebrow.
"Where exactly are you off to anyway, Kassie? If you don't mind my asking?"

"Uh, okay. Just a second." Kasiya pulled the device away from her ear and slowly turned her head so she was looking at it vertically. "Oh! I see it now! It's a heart!" she exclaimed, her excitement causing her to lose her balance for a second time, and she went crashing down onto the wooden bridge. "Owie," she whimpered, pulling herself to her knees and once again raising the phone to her ear in time to hear Kilik's question. "Um, I'm heading to Fuchsia City to challenge Master Koga," she said matter-of-factly. "Why do you ask?"

"Oh, me laddie..." he sighed, running his hands through what little hair he had left on his head, "You see, me boy, it's battles like these that really get me ol' heart pumpin'. And..." he laughed heartily, "it's what makes me hair fall out."
Magnemite fell to the floor with a metallic thump, unconcious. It was recalled, then replaced with a yellow and blue dog. "Manetric, show the lad what a quadraped Pokemon can do!"

He blinked. "Koga?" he repeated. Everything about that man came rushing into his mind. All the rigorous training he went through, the pounding trials and all of the pain he endured. Sometimes, he could still feel the pricks of the heavy waterfall on his back. He winced slightly.
"No reason. Just curious," he told her, looking over to see if his Pokemon had healed, "And...I've got every bit of faith in you. Show that man who's boss, Kass. I..." he blinked, "guess I'll just talk to you later. That's all I got," he laughed sheepishly and scratched the back of his head.

The boy took note of Kassie's disdain of his Water Pokemon. "Aw, you don't like Xanthos?" Mike looked a little sullen, he himself had even grown to like the disrespectful little snot. "You'll grow to like him, I did."
The Pokemon continued to swim forward, not having a good exercise for ages. Personally, he could care less if the human girl disliked him, or so he thought.

"Attract!" Mitsu said, a devilish grin plastered to her face. Karri gave a wink and blew a kiss at Pidgeot. Bright and pastel pink hearts blinked thier way to Pidgeot. Even being the speedy demon he was Pidgeot couldn't avoid the attack. Once the hearts touched the bird they exploded into a million more tiny hearts. Mitsu laughed as she pictured Pidgeot's eyes turning into the shape of hearts.
"Aerial Ace," Ken said not to sure of himself all of a sudden with the condition that Pidgeot now had. In love with the elegant Psychic Pokemon Pidgeot could do nothing but stare as Karri launched another Thunderbolt his way. Static crackled over his body, but he still had a lot left in him.

Kasiya looked up at Mike and gave a small nod, mouthing the word "Perhaps." She would, however, never forget the look of anguish and terror on Hiro's face as the Nameless Trainer's Crawdaunt slammed into her faithful friend's already weakened body.
"You've got faith... in me?" she repeated, feeling a shy blush creep into her cheeks. "Thanks Kilik, that means a lot," she said quietly, not really knowing what else to say. "Take care of yourself, okay?" she added, watching Xanthos swimming in the water. I bet Ariel would love a swim too, she thought, reaching for the Vaporeon's Pokeball.

He laughed lightly, "I'll see what I can manage. Seems like trouble follows me everywhere I go, what with Maorde and Giovanni and the likes." He nodded at the Nurse when she appeared behind the counter. "I'll be sure to talk to you later. Good luck with the Gym match." He paused.
"Oh, and if you see Mike, tell him that Elekid's looking for another round against Napalm. Bye-bye, Kassie." He pulled the device away from his ear and clicked the 'End' button and put the device back in his pocket.
She's an oddball, he thought with a laugh.

"Bye, Kilik," Kasiya replied, also turning off her PokeNav. "He seems like he's in better spirits than earlier. That makes me happy." As she shoved the machine back into her pocket, she let Ariel out of her Pokeball. The Vaporeon appeared beside her, giving a slight yawn. She blinked, looking around and jumped to her feet, her ears twitching excitedly. "It's okay, you can go for a swim too," Kasiya urged. The words were barely out of her mouth and Ariel had dove headlong into the cool water, immediately disappearing under the surface. "Just watch out for Xanthos, don't know how he'll take to sharing swim time." She giggled, and stood back up again, happy to continue walking as her first Pokemon swam along beside her.
