Kaleb poked his head out from the kitchen and grinned. "I-I was worried you might be late," he said, "I wouldn't want things getting cold." He had already drained the noodles and taken the pot of sauce and pan of meatballs off the stove, with plates and cutlery already set out on the counter. "I-I made lots, so there should be enough for your hollow leg."

"Had to go over some stuff with Tseng" and try not to kill Reno. "Sorry i was late." He flopped down at the table and sniffed. "Leftovers are good too .. means i don't have to cook tomorrow"

Kaleb brought out the plates and cutlery, and floated the components of the meal to the table so they could serve themselves there. "I think you'll have leftover meatballs for awhile, there's lots." He flopped down himself, and waved at Riley to help himself.

"Can take them to work too." He grinned as he piled his plate up with food. Meatballs would be good to snack on at the office since without lots of sauce they weren't all that messy.

Kaleb nodded, and then served himself once Riley was done. There was still lots more, but at least his partner didn't mind having leftovers. He took one single meatball for his own plate, he missed eating them, and hopefully just one wouldn't bother his stomach too much.

He stuffed one meat ball in his mouth and sighed. "Mmmmm better than what i can make." He stabbed another one with his fork and dropped it onto his plate to make up for the one he'd eaten.

Kaleb smiled at the compliment. "I-I could show you how I make them sometime, it's not that hard." He started into his own meal, carefully twirling the spaghetti around his fork so he could get it into his mouth without making a mess of it.

"Probably wouldn't taste as good." He twisted a pile of spaghetti onto his fork and stuffed it in his mouth.

"Ingredients are ingredients," Kaleb said, poking his meatball into halves with his fork before twirling up another mouthful of spaghetti.

"Yea but that's not how it works. Sometimes things taste better when someone makes them for ya." He stuck his tongue out at Kaleb before taking another bite of the spaghetti

"How does that make any sense?" Kaleb asked, frowning a bit and trying not to retaliate with something just as immature.

Kaleb blushed and was silent for a couple seconds as he reminded himself that there were types of love aside from the mushy romantic kind. Friends could love each other, it just usually wasn't called that. "I-I c-can make it again sometime i-if you really like it," he stuttered

"Good." he laughed. "Cause it's really good an i know i'd suck at making meatballs." He munched his way though half of his plate before he got up and headed for the fridge. "Ya want somethin ta drink?"

Kaleb smiled and finished his mouthful before speaking up. "I-I'd really like a glass of water, thanks." He knew Riley didn't keep chocolate milk, so water was probably the best substitute.
