At this point, Iden couldn't help but to look rather smug as he took a few steps, then leaned forwards, just within arms reach of the man, almost as if he were taunting him.

Well then, I suppose if I ever run into a true Cainite, I'll be sure to give him your best.

He pulled back, and adopted a sheepish grin as he turned to the woman and shrugged.

Kinda like a pooch I had once. Annoying little thing, yapped at everybody. So...you the next in line of wonderful people I get to meet today?

He rather casually began to saunter towards where the woman stood, and offered that same smug smirk and a two fingered wave to "Justin"

Auf wiedersehen, herr Doktor...
PostPosted: Mon Mar 10, 2008 1:48 pm

And to what do I owe my wrath for all this racket?

*Stalking with lng, easy strides down the hall, Raoul made his appearance, then groaned*

I should have known... Jane, DO be a dear and try to keep Justin AWAY from our more volatile allies. Especially the DeSeers.

Im sorry sir, I didnt know HE was here.

Vile scum!

Yes yes Justin, but vile scum who nonetheless are necessary, useful, and good at their jobs. Off you go.

*Sheparding Jane and Justine away, Raoul nodded ot Iden and gestured to a door*

Dont mind Justin - he is very sensitive to evil and your daemon reeks of it. Shall we? And prehaps you can tell me why YOU of all peopel are here tonight, over vitae, yes?

Well, he wasn't nearly as fidgety as he originally was. Hell, he looked rather pleased with himself, all things considered, as he entered the door Raoul had directed him towards. As he slipped in the door, he couldn't resist but to flash a quick, toothy grin at Justin, the kind that most people do when plotting something horrific to no end. Once he was in the room, however, he started laughing, almost to the point of tears.

It's alright, I've taken worse words from people with far greater grudges.

He gently wiped at the corner of his eye once the laughter began to calm, and shook his head.

Sorry if that stirs up any real trouble, but godDAMN that was funny. Right. So....why I'm here...well, no drinks needed, truth be told. I'm just here because the grand high poobah of the DeSeer household has decided, in her infinite wisdom, that I show up. Without actually telling me where to show up TO, might I add. So after a bit of a merry little romp through the local cube farm...I was actually, in all honesty, expecting her to have gotten here before I did, or at least have sent in word ahead of time.

While the sarcasm was probably a little thick when he started talking, by the end of his tale, he was actually talking in a fair businesslike manner, far removed from the stupid humor that had marked his entrance.

I see. Drinks WILL be in order then.

*Settling into his chair, Raoul poured personally, while gesturing Iden to sit down*

Finding me isnt hard. BECAUSE of that, we have Justin. The second anyone of dark intent enters, he knows about it. USUALLY, he lets me know, but he's... familiar... with the unique brand of evil your bloodline deals in. Apparently, today he decided to deal with it by himself. His... hatred... is rather intense.

As is your ability to control your temper. But I know that look Raoul... better make it three glasses...

*Raoul looked up, and there was Roan, in the seat next to Iden, looking over to wink at him*

Hiya kid.

Oh. Well there you go, then. Can't be helped, I suppose, and I'll keep my distance as best as I can on the way out, to avoid another scene.

He sat, as Raoul had gestured for him to do, and leaned back into the chair, with his legs stretched out and crossed, and his arms folded over his chest. He opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by another voice. He turned, and hiked a brow up as Roan made herself known.

'Bout damn time you showed up, mate. Bad traffic?
PostPosted: Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:19 pm

Raoul stood and bowed as Roan made her appearance*

Syn Vengeance...

Dont stand on ceremony for me Raoul. Sit down, pour me a drink and lets get this over with shall we?

Of course. Would you mind explaining to me the point of this meeting?

Call it a drop in.

Thats worse with you....

*grinning, Roan let Raoul pour and pass tall goblets of warmed vitae, draining hers and passing it back for more before she spoke again*

For everyones sake, I'll cut to the chase. Im here to arrange terms of Iden's promotion to Neonate. He's been a fledgling for long enough in my eyes as he is now successfully managing his own vassals - namely his thrall Bella, he manages to observe the Masquerade in most things and picks his fights carefully. He has been instrumental in forming our alliance with the scorpid Lokas and his people. In short... he's as useful as the others have been when they got promoted.

But?

Shrewd as ever... Iden here doesnt understand about being anything other than a mercinary. He doesnt see teh big picture and doesnt care as long as he gets paid. He hates taking innocent life, but will kill for hire. In short, he is a ******** up mkess of screwed ideals and lack of responsibility. He doesnt know WHY he should bow to your will or what the point is.

.... and what has HE to say about it all I wonder?

As they began to speak, Iden folded his fingers over his chest and contented himself to quietly listen in. Roan made her case, and while there was a slight moment of pride in Iden's mind, it wasn't a lasting effect. Rather, he had his own thoughts to tend to, which were as ill matched and random as his babblings after too much exposure to his own daemon.

Then Roan began spouting off on his not so favorable traits, at which Iden couldn't help but smirk, which only grew broader as Raoul asked for his own opinion.

Well, the woman knows me, that's pretty much what can be said. What she's saying pretty much is the result of our arguments on this same topic. I'm here at HER wishes, so this has gone over my head already.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 17, 2008 5:51 pm

*An eyebrow twitched, then Raoul;s attention returned to Roan, who was now leaning over the table, pilfering Raoul's cigars, only just managing to retract her fingers before the Prince slammed the lid down*

Really Lady DeSeer... with YOU behaving thus, is it any wonder your kids have no respect?
Nope. But thats not MY problem. He respects me, or he gets thrown in the basement...
Which is where this is leading. You DO know I suppose I dont have time?
I'll take your place.
Like hell. YOu dont have time! Truth, from what I hear...
Yeah... alright, well what about...
Do not even mention that fiery headed stubborn mule of yours...
Mule? Unfair... Dagoth may be hard headed but he's learnt much.
Alright alright...
Theres always Jane?
I cant believe YOU just suggested that...
Im not willing to wait Raoul... it will NEVER be the right time if I do...
Then you will grant me the official of my choice in my absence.
As long as its someone who knows the job...
Bailey.
WHAT?!
Accept, or go elsewhere.
Dont make me pull rank....
You wouldnt DARE, child!
....

*Prince and Syn stood nose to nose, neither backing down until suddenly.. Roan dropped into a chair and snorted*

Fine. Have it your way. Do it NOW though. I'll tell Fear. The kid here wont sit still once he knows...
Make the arrangements then Vengeance. And give me what I need to deal with him.

*Something passed between Roan's hand and Raoul's, then she waved a hand, Hebrew leaping from her body to ensure Iden went nowhere*

Iden? You're going on a trip. Time you toughened the ******** up, and got on the same song sheet as everyone else. Enjoy it kids, you're off to earn yoru wings and take it from me... Raoul's a hard task master. Good luck.

The conversation seemingly passed over Iden's head, though inside the twisted dimensions of his rather screwed up mind, a VERY heated discussion was being engaged, far from the prying senses of the other (unless Roan was paying VERY close attention to him over the Prince)

:: Damn b***h don't get it. See WHY I avoid these nuts? Listenin' to 'em bickerin' over US like we'ze just a bunch o' chopped MEAT? ::

:: Oh shut up, please. I'm enjoying the bashing of Dag. ::

:: Get the ******** out? Are you not listening? It's TOO LATE. WE'RE ********. ******** I SAY. ::

:: Oh shut up. Least we can do is take the s**t with us. ::

:: Man, I KNEW we were boned when she offered a job! I TOLD YOU! I TOLD YOU ALL! ::

:: SHADDUP! ::

:: SHANKITY STABBINGS! ::

:: SHADDUP! ::

Quintessentially, there was a moment's gap between Bailey's name, and Iden's eyes widening to the size of dinner plates, and by the time he recovered enough to even consider bolting for it, he was not going anywhere. He gritted his teeth, and flashed Roan a glare that described, all in one glance, EXACTLY the nature of the conversations in his head.

Goddammit. Least you coulda done was warn me.

And he stopped struggling and waited.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 18, 2008 4:38 am

Warn you? I did.

*Raon's smile was dark as she settled back and lit the cigar she'd pilfered, spreading a trail of blue tinted smoke around her*

You refuse to understand and have a moral code NO sane person could understand. I get that work is work, but you arent a child anymore. And you;re too powerful to let things just continue. In short... you;re a liability to what we do until you learn. What is required of you is not hard, nor is it a-moral. Raoul will help you learn new skills as well, but Im afraid you'll probably end up like I did for a few centuries. I DONT think you'll learn, so Im going to give Raoul permission to bring you into line by any means necessary. That bit will hurt. I would love to think you;d have enough care by that point for it NOT to be necessary, but we NEED you Iden, and that leaves no margin for doubt about your intents. Train hard, do me proud.

Time to go...

Let him take his weapons, so he at least has 'em close for his own comfort. But DO confiscate em..

Dont tell me how to do my own job.

*Smiling a little, Raoul opened a draw, took out a few things which went into his pockets, then he came round the table and dropped his hand onto Iden;s shoulder*

Anything you need to say, whelp?

*Roan could only smile as Raoul;s voice changed to that of her old trainer, and not the beaurocrat he usually was these days*

Eh. Well peachy. Maybe you could sort my head out, then, while you're at it?

He knew she would understand exactly his meaning there, so he didn't elaborate any further. He looked distinctly displeased with his predicament, but he wasn't protesting openly, though even the most surface thoughts of his mind, open to anyone with a clan tie to him would know just how pissed off he was.

Weapons? Don't have 'em. Left them all at the house. Why would I need be armed for walking into a beaurocracy? Lets just get this s**t going. The anticipation is killing me.

That was about all the reply he had for Raoul, and his expression when faced with his new taskmaster was not nearly as angry, but more simply tired.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:13 pm

Iden? One thing you should learn real quick... ALWAYS go armed around other cainites. We may be the 'good' guys... but none of us are nice. Have fun.

*Roan wavedover her shoulder as she walked out, leaving Raoul alone with Iden. Extending a hand, he looked down at Iden*

Shall we?

*If Iden took his hand, he would feel himself pulled downwards, into the ground beneath him, then away. The speed and act in itself would cause a massive headache at the least, possibly unconsciousness in the extreme as Raoul took the fledgling away from everywhere he woudl know to HIS old stomping grounds.*

Psh. A few guns wouldn't do me much good here anyways, mate.

He repressed the impulse to groan out his intense disliking for his situation, and instead forced himself into silence as he nodded, brick-faced, and accepted the offered hand.

The trip itself was incredibly disorienting, not to mention moderately painful. Iden knew headaches, but this one was a monster, not to mention that he suddenly felt exhausted and nauseated from the sudden transport to..wherever the hell he was.

It was half past six and Dagoth was to busy pacing the corridors of the Princes Headquarters he watched as those around him hugged the walls, less the gain the obviously concerned cainites attention Dagoth knew he was not well liked around here. After all he and the Prince had a less than comfortable relationship both enjoying wind the other up, that was one of the reasons Dagoth was concerned he had never gotten such a quick audience with the Prince even with Roan's help. It made him grip his blade tightly the rage eating at the back of his eye balls, he had to wait at least another thirty minutes before he could find out what was really going on.

As Dagoth walked past one of the rooms the soft glow of a television, stopping to watch the current news report Dagoth grinned from ear to ear. Cindi Donovan appeared on the screen speaking in a concerned and deeply serious voice, behind her several fires rage as the fire service raced around trying to hold them back.

"I'm currently report live here from the warehouse district in Aekea where violent gang fights have brought chaos to this industrial city, early this morning there where reports of gun fire and explosions however once the police arrived only this inferno could be seen. Current reports are that both of the largest gangs here have claimed no responsibility for this, Police sources however are reporting critical evidence has been found with no sight of them being able to control this blaze."

Dagoth watched the report for a few minutes longer before laughing and moving back towards the Princes room, least he wouldn't get a whole masquerade rant from the Prince this time after all it had been a good few months since Dagoth had broken it. Fire wasn't good for hiding evidence it simply masked it, so Dagoth had spent many hours planting just the right amount of evidence to not telegraph what he was doing. Taking one of the more comfortable waiting chairs, Dagoth sparked up a smoke his foot tapping against the floor.

*Even the half hour Dagoth was expecting to wait would be haled, as an unfamiliar attendant stepped out f the Prince's rooms and bowed to the crimson haired cainite*

You may go in for your audience now, Mr DeSeer.

*Holding the door open for Dagoth, the attendant revealed the room beyond, the Prince's chair swivelled away from the entrance, the room mostly in gloom.
After Dagoth entered, the attendant woud leave, closing the door behind him. In the darkness, the chair would squeak just slightly as it swivelled, a coffee coloured aquiline nose revealed in a brief flare of light as the occupant of the chair lit a smoke, then turned the lights up*

So, what can I do for you kid?

*Baileys grin was huge, his feet kicked up on the Princes desk*
