Another good manga is Tsubasa, by CLAMP. So is Magic Knight Rayearth, also by CLAMP.
Haven't heard of any of those... ninja
Manga.

Do you read CLAMP? It's like a really awsome group that draws/writes manga. Almost everyone has at least heard of them.... They made Chobits and Cardcaptor Sakura too.

I don't, my friend does. She told me that I had to read CLAMP. So I read some. And I didn't really enjoy it.

Ok, So I am a MAJOR bookworm...prepared to sit for a while? The following are some of the more memorable books I've read.

J.M. Barrie- Peter Pan
-Is it really nesassary for me to explain? It's a classic tale really. Every childs fantasy and every adults muse. Yup, I'm genuinly afraid of growing up, just like my ever dearest Peter Pan...It's frightfully fasinating.

J.R.R.Tolkien-Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit
-Personally, I prefered The Hobbit because Bilbo is just so much fun to read about. These books are the classics of classics. Middle Earth is like a dream world. I can see everything within it, and everyone should have such a privledge.

J.K.Rowling- Harry Potter
-Um..yeah. You all get it.

Guy Gavriel Kay-The Druid, The Fionavar Tapestry
-I love his writing style. I can't get past it. Amazing. The Druid was a lot of fun to read and The Fionavar Tapestry provided many a pondering night.

Monica Furlong- Wisechild, Juniper
-Wisechild is one of my all time favourite characters. This book is definitly under-appreciated. Juniper was the prequal, while not as good, still worth reading.

T.A.Barron-The Lost Years of Merlin series
-Truthfully, I've only read up to the fourth book because my library didn't have it. But I read the first three in 2 days or so and I love them. Fincarya is very magical. I am a sucker for any tales about Arthur or Merlin, and this is a marvelous one about how Merlin came to be.

Eloise Jarvis Mcgraw- The Moorchild
-Again, a very under-appreciated book. I believe it is ment for elementary school students. But the story is so wonderful I think it hardly matters. About a "changling" who neither belongs with humans or her own folk. It's sad and loveable.

J.D.Salinger- The Catcher in the Rye, To Esme; With Love
-The Catcher in the Rye blew me away. A story about innocence (that's how I translated it anyways). To Esme, With Love is a collection of short stories. All whacked out and weird, but amusing none the less.

Wilson Rawls- Where the Red Fern Grows
-The first book I remember crying over. I read it in the 5th grade and it still makes me teary eyed. I can understand this boys love for his dogs, because it is exactly how I felt for mine. Rest in peace my puppy, rest in peace.

Dave Pelzer- A Child Called "It"
-This story infuriated me in the best of ways. It made me realise just how corupted human kind really is. Not to mention the writing is amazing.

Lois Lowry- Number the Stars
-I have not read "the Giver", but Number the Stars was the first novel I read twice. I believe it was in the 3rd grade. A trajic story that I didn't understand when I first picked it up. About a girl trying to protect her Jewish friends from the Nazis in Denmark.

Lori Gottlieb- Stick Figure: A Diary of My Former Self
-About an 11 year olds battle with anorexia in the 80's. Amazing and thought provoking while remaining terribly humourous the entire time. One of the best random reads I've ever done.

James Redfield- The Celestine Prophecy, The Tenth Insight.
-OK, so the quality of writing is questionable (I think a 10 year old could manage quite easily), but the concepts presented are very thought provoking. I have spent many, many hours discussing the ideas in these two books (mainly the first one). This man is a gineius.

Richard Adams- Watership Down
-I was weary about reading a book on rabbits...because well, lets face it, how interesting can rabbits be? The answer: Very. Hazel is one of the funnest characters I have ever read. Im glad I picked this book up for my 9 hour plane flight to Japan.

C.S.Lewis- The Chronicles of Narnia
-I read this series in the course of about 5 days. Oddly enough, the most famous of the books, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, is my least favourite. I actually refused to read it when I was small because it reminded me of The Wizard of Oz (I have always hated that movie). But I'm glad I read the series, The Horse and His Boy would be my favourite.

Chun Sue- Bejing Doll
-A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Has definite re-read-ability.

David Guterson- Snow Falling on Cedars
-I have to admit this book was a little daunting at first. I read it simply because it was one of the few english choices available at my Japanese high school. Some of this story is still a little difficult to wrap my head around. I don't feel part of their world at all, but I love reading about it. There is some sexual content, just to be warned.

Jean Craighead George- My Side of the Mountain, The Far Side of the Mountain
- So amusing. I read these books a long while back when a friend and I were going through a wilderness stage (still going through that stage I'm afraid). The boys parents are bordering on metally ill for letting him trump off to live in the forest alone, but other than that a captivating (if mildly juevinille) story. I actually learned a lot from this book.

Haruki Murakami- Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, Norwegian Wood
-Hard-Boiled Wonderland is possibly the most random book I have ever laid hands on. A book that your english teacher would love to tare apart (metaphorically of course). There is so much symbolism going on here its hard to concentrate. But, we all need to do a little more critical thinking, so why not pick it up? Nowegian Wood couldnt have been more different. It's a love story...a very trajic love story. Leaves you messed up.

John Steinbeck- East of Eden
- Many of the characters in this book of since become favourites. Follows the story of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel. Some very deep characters. And some characters I just love to hate. Lots of angsty goodness.

Ken Follet- The Pillars of the Earth.
- A beast of a book. 1000 some odd pages of interesting plot. Never a boring page. About the bulding of a cathedral and the lives of the people around it. Again, some love to hate characters. I loved Jack, just to let you know.

Jean M. Auel- The Earth's Children series
- All the books are good. But The Clan of the Cave Bear owns. A little far fetched to be called historical fiction. Ayla is one amazing chick. The first of her kind i'd say wink

Katherine Paterson- Bridge to Terabithia
- This was sad. So so sad. It's so short. I balled.

Elizabeth George Speares- The Witch of Blackbird Pond
- Another one day read. Nat has become one of my permanent literary crushes. I can relate to how alien she feels in the book.

Aldus Huxly- Brave New World
- It took me a while to get into this book, but I'm glad I did. It is quite unlike anything else I have ever read. Very eyeopening, mind expanding stuff. About the clones of the future, which sound dumb, but really is quite oppposite.
