Wow, great job, Marc! Any tips for those of us who aren't quite so market-savvy?
Also, have folks seen the new costumes?! AWESOME stuff! The much-requested male thong has arrived, as has the french maid outfit-with FISHNETS! Dinah, Zatanna, get to H.R.'s, STAT!
3nodding ever watch old navy commercials? you know how their prices are always fairly competative? well I took that idea and used it on gaia. see most people always have a set figure in their heads as to how much money something should earn them
for example. let's take a long black coat. about 1000 gold, alright. most people have this in their head.
if I bought it for a 1000, I can do a bid and buy...where the buy price is about (or close to what I paid for it initially) or can have an auction going in the hopes I make more.
see the use the low prices of the auction to attract buyers and then use the steady buy price as a fall back incase worse comes to worse in the bid.
...however...I look at things differently.
you get a decent item alright. that same black coat. I paid a thousand for it.
most people are selling it or bidding it off for anywhere from 800 to 1200 gold. not cool. and people arn't stupid when it comes to money. they know when they're gettting ripped off. but...what if you can beat the competion out? appeal to lower incomer or newer members of gaia by taking that same coat and selling it for a fraction of the cost...say...650 gold...which is good...that's good money...and you'll sell it right away cause people want good deals and you want cash fast.
so...long story short...the name of the game is closeout. this especially works if the item is popular (like a tail or an emperor's beard or a studded collar). sell that collar for 1800 gold instead of the average price of 2200 hundred and never bid it! never ever bid! that doesn't help! especially if you need the cash fast. just sell it up front and everyone's happy.
oh, btw...my total earnings are now 16590 gold! yay!
