"I was just asking, you can't blame me for that." Josie gave a shrug and smiled at Tuomas, then stood and took her empty mug into the kitchen. She set it down in the sink and came back, the smile still in place, but her eyes showed a bit of hurt at seeing her sister with someone. She strengthened her smile and pushed the hurt look away before anyone would notice.

"So, what we gonna name the little fuzzball?" Raz looked up at her sister and Tuomas, the kitten still asleep in her lap. Her hand ran over the kitten's fur and a faint purr could be heard from the curled up feline.

"You're right, kitty cat. Josie?" Raz stood up and walked around the coffee table to Tuomas and Josie, the kitten now awake and crawling up to her shoulder. She crossed her arms over her chest and raised her eyebrows, watching as Josie's smile vanished.

"Well, um, uh......How about Precious? Or Lily? I didn't think you'd let me keep her so I didn't really think of any names yet." Josie gave an apologetic smile and folded her arms behind her back. She felt guilty about not having a name ready and truly hadn't expected Raz to say yes to keeping the kitten. Her eyes went back and forth between her sister and the neko as she waited for a response from one of them.

"Yeah, it would take forever for her to get used to Precious. Lily it is, then. I'll get her something to eat, she looks hungry." Josie took the kitten from Raz's shoulder as she started meowing and walked into the kitchen with her. Lily climbed up on Josie's shoulder and started playing with her white ribbon as the blonde went around and looked for something for the little fuzzball to eat.

"Lily, a perfect name for the tiny terror. Nice take on being the sophisticated observationist, kitty cat." Raz smiled at Tuomas and let her arms drop to her sides. She walked over to the desk and picked up the letter that was still sitting there, her smile vanishing as she looked at the wax seal.

"I know, but I have a feeling that no matter how long I put it off, it'll still be bad." Raz tugged on the edge of the envelope and broke the seal, then pulled out a piece of yellowing paper and unfolded it. The black ink was fading, but still literate. The curved writing was written in French and Raz began reading it aloud after rolling her eyes.

" 'Dearest Rasoline, I am sorry that I had to send Josie to you, but there was nothing else I could think of in this bad time. I do not want you to worry about me, nor do I want you to come back to Dublin and leave your studies. I want you to know that even though I may be gone soon, I am still with you, forever and always. But you already know that. I have included with this letter a photograph of your real mother and the papers that will put Josie-' Whoa, what?" Raz re-read the sentence about her real mother and set down the letter to look in the envelope, she missed the picture falling out of it and onto the floor as she searched.

"Raz, what's wrong? What happened? Raz." Josie stepped out of the kitchen and walked over to Raz, her expression worried as she saw the shock in her sister's eyes. She took the envelope from Raz and set it aside, trying to comfort her sister as she started speaking in tongues.

"Tuomas, what happened? What's wrong with Raz?" Josie allowed Raz to keeping speaking in tongues and looked up at Tuomas, her expression going from worried to half-panicked.

"Well, that explains why they looked nothing alike. But come on, why tell Raz when she's away from home?" Josie placed her hands on Raz's shoulders and squeezed, the effect immediet as Raz stopped talking and ran a hand through her hair.

"Raz? Are you OK now?"

"I'm fine, just, a little freaked out. I can't believe he never told me, my own father kept a secret from me for years and just now decided he's gonna tell me I have a different mother. God." Raz ran her hand through her hair one last time before taking the picture from Tuomas. Her eyes softened as she looked down at the woman standing on a stage, she looked almost exactly like Raz, only with brown hair instead of black. Raz picked up the letter and found where she had stopped before.

" '-the papers that will put Josie under your care. I know you must be in shock, but there is a file on your laptop that will explain everything. Please do not be angry with me, Rasoline, I am sorry I kept that a secret from you for so long. Keep your sister and yourself safe. With love, Eric.' That's all, all he wrote." Raz threw the letter down on the desk and let Josie pull her into a hug. The letter had been fairly bad and Raz was unhappy, but she wasn't about to go running back to Dublin just to yell at her father. Raz rubbed her temples with her hands, trying not to let her anger control her again.

"You're right, Tuomas. My dad had told me that someone close to him had died in a car crash when I was real young. This must be the person he was talking about. But why give me gaurdianship over Josie? That's the only thing I don't understand." Raz looked over at Tuomas, she was so confused about that one thing.

"You remember what she said when father first got sick, don't you? She told her lawyer that if father dies, I'm gone. Remember now? She absolutely hates demons and would have done anything to get me under her custody, just to make sure I'm shipped off to Timbuktu." Josie let go of Raz and crossed her arms over her chest, the memories of how the woman she had called 'mother' had tried to get rid of her coming back and causing her own small amount of anger riser a little higher.

"Raz and I used to torture her whenever she tortured me, but it was like a living Hell." Josie shivered involuntarily at one memory and pushed it aside, memories of that old banshee had no place to take over her mind right now.

"Dad'll give us what he can, but some of it has to go to the old broad, she did marry our dad. I still don't understand why he would put you under my care when I'm in college. I can't take care of two people, not when I don't have a job yet!" Raz stopped rubbing her temples and set the picture down on the desk, next to the letter. She reached for the envelope and pulled out some official-looking papers stating that Josie was now under Raz's care, until she turned eighteen that is.

"Thanks, Tuomas. It'll be hard, but I think we'll get through it. And you're right, Josie doesn't have that long until her birthday." Raz smiled and pulled her sister into a hug. She let go of Josie after ruffling her blonde hair and turned to face Tuomas, the smile still in place.

"Well, technically, I have about nine months until my birthday. But yeah, it won't be too long before you're rid of me, then I'll move into my own dorm and bug you from there." Josie redid her ponytail after Raz messed it and smiled sweetly.

"That's reassuring." Raz rolled her eyes at Josie before laughing as Lily ran in from the kitchen soaked. Lily meowed loudly and shook, flinging water at everyone near her.
