"He's from China?" RuiZhi could barely contain his shock, forgetting the whole blowing-in-the-face. His first thought was the question of if he knew the new doctor or not. That, of course, was quickly dismissed; China was huge, so the doctor could be from anywhere. He also wondered if the new doctor would be male or female, and if poor Doctor Lorioth would be able to be around them without fainting from a constant blush.

RuiZhi had about had his fill of surprise for the day, what with Herei, these two, and breaking his language barrier. Doctor Lorioth seemed to have had as much as he could take, as his reactions to Javelin's words were becoming more and more apparent. It'd been so productive already, he could only fathom what the classes would bring.

Speaking of classes... "I think I should find my brother," he said out loud. "So we may room together." RuiZhi had the distinct feeling that Weiyuan would not take kindly to any of the other boys, simply because...well...he was Wei. "That way, Doctor Lorioth Manneth may know where I am, and we can speak again?" It was the politest way he could think of to excuse himself so the two could bicker of alcohol and doctors, since the doctor seemed to be more flustered.

Lorioth smiled at RuiZhi, nodding his head. Frankly, he was not adept enough at social situations to find any of this comfortable for too long, and it made him more than a little bit relieved to know that the boy was the one asking to be excused, rather than himself.

"Of course." he responded, wondering who RuiZhi's brother was. Were they really related, or was this some type of Asian coinage, a term used in a more general fashion.

"Leaving me so soon?" Javelin asked, teasing as she put on an expression of mock pain. "Students... they don't consider that we have feelings too!"

Lorioth sighed. "It was nice to meet you, RuiZhi." he said instead, trying to cover up for the lack of decency in his companion. "I hope to meet you again soon."

RuiZhi smiled fondly at Javelin. "I will see you soon, Big Sister Professor Javelin Lovinghal." The name came easier, and sounded less awkward on his lips. He could find the silliness in it now, and he rather liked the endearment. "You are great." He didn't know how else to tell her how interesting and different she was from anyone he'd met, so he summed it up simply. Besides, it wouldn't do to pretend he didn't want to talk to her again. She was fun!

"It was a pleasure," he said sincerely to Lorioth, bowing slightly to him. "I very much look forward to classes and seeing you again." RuiZhi smiled to both of the professors, having warm thoughts for them. What amazing, remarkable people to have teaching a school. He was afraid it would be a strict and unforgiving place; these two seemed to be anything but.

The boy took a few steps backwards, then turned to where he'd seen Weiyuan disappear. RuiZhi figured he'd need to be saved soon. He meandered in the general direction, keeping an eye open for a certain Herei Fang...just in case.

Javelin watched the boy go, and giggled. "Wasn't that cute! Do you think more kids will be like that? We need more toys to play with, you know."

Lorioth sighed. "Javelin." he said, remarking and almost, almost rolled his eyes. But it would have been too forward of the doctor to do so, and so he merely remained, eyes wandering to the corner of the room which was beginning to look better and better.

As if sensing his thoughts, the professor hooked one arm around his shoulder, and smiled. "Let's go get something to drink, huh? I'm parched. Talking to these students takes it out of you, you know?

Lorioth suppressed another sigh. Why did he have a feeling it would involve alcohol?

His lips gently and smoothly eased into a slight smile. He was indeed slightly proud of what he did but it wasn't good to inflate his ego. If one did...he'd resemble Dr. Kenth more than he thought he could of.

"Ah...yes. It was because of that event that I decided to strive for the best. My father's footsteps would be hard to fill if I didn't come here."

"Your father...." Dante trailed off, looking thoughtful.

"...I am a lucky man. I never had to live without a father except when I was very young and away with my mother. And...I get the feeling Dr. Kenth has more of a heart than he lets on. Sometimes people close off their feelings if they're sad or angry or don't want to get hurt. It's simply a matter of either reaching out to them or waiting for them, depending on the situation."

A brown brow was raised. The man seemed to have the same understanding for the doctor as he did. Either way, if Dr. Kenth was here and needed assistance, we was going to push his way to the front line. Just as he had done back in his homeland.

He realized he was frowning. Men who lived their lives with a father at their side were lucky men. Though he might never know who his true father was, he would always remember the his foster father.

Charcoals caught a flash of red again. It was soon followed by a tail of black hair. His frown turned into a smirk. Count on his 'brother' to get here before him. "Dì xiōng! (Brother!)" He gave one wave of his hand to signal to his 'brother' his location.

"Dì xiōng," RuiZhi greeted Weiyuan, still weaving his way through the crowd to reach him. He withdrew his right hand from his sleeves, giving a brief wave to Weiyuan and the man with him. "Ah, excuse me," he said to the man in English, moving to stand next to his brother, "I do not mean to boot in."

RuiZhi didn't even realize his blunder in English as he really looked at the man. The man - no, the elf - was quite different than anyone the boy had ever seen. That may have something to do with being an elf, though. The way his hair was, and his somber expression, reminded him forcefully of Wei...which reminded him why he came this far in the first place.

Not wanting to be rude, RuiZhi waited for the out that he knew Weiyuan would propose; if Wei did not want to be somewhere, Wei would not stay. He admired his brother's forthright attitude, finding himself relying on it to overcome his own lack of assertiveness.

"It is fine," Dante replied, first in a garbled attempt at Chinese and then in English. This boy seemed a bit more relaxed then his brother, apparantly, for which Dante was grateful. He'd probably have a bit less of a problem if Dante addressed him slowly, both for his own benefit and Ruizhi's.

"Welcome," Dante said, bowing. "You are enjoying yourself?" he asked, again in Chinese and then in English again. "I apologize for my speech."

RuiZhi blinked and looked up, startled. He was being spoken to? In his mother tongue AND English? He'd come to save his brother, and now it looked like he himself would need to be saved! "No need for apologies," he said in English, his cheeks coloring a little at being caught off guard. He decided it must be a necessary trait to be a professor here. "My English is not great. We are both learning, yes?" He smiled at the man, bowing slightly in return. The folk here weren't much for handshakes, were they?

"I like this school very much," the boy admitted, the excited gleam coming back into his eyes. "The Professors I've talked with are very..." He paused to think of those he'd met; Mr. Herei, Doctor Lorioth, and Big Sister. Such characters! "...interesting." It wasn't the word he wanted, but simplicity was more his style. "They make me happy to be here."

Dante smiled a bit. "Indeed. I hope that Javelin did not scare you too much; she tends to frighten even Heru Prinwaltz. Lorioth seems a gentle kind of boy, very sweet. I've only exchanged a few words with him, but he's very genuinely concerned with others. And Herei is very eccentric. I hope you enjoy him...you need me to go slower?"

RuiZhi squinted as he listened, trying to memorize the correct way to speak the names of the teachers he had met. "Big Sister Professor Javelin Lovinghal," he grinned. "She did not scare me. I like her, she is funny. Doctor Lorioth Manneth is very shy. He is red a lot around Big Sister." RuiZhi smiled fondly, glancing to where he had met the two. They were no longer there, and the boy could only imagine that Javelin had lead the poor Doctor elsewhere. As for Herei...that was a subject best left unspoken.

He paused, balking at one of the words. "I, ah, don't know what a Hair-oo is." There were a few other words he wasn't familiar with, and he wasn't sure he could repeat them. Although he knew a few, he had to stop and think of the word and what it meant; it was like eating a sweet, and recognizing the flavor but not knowing what it was immediately. "I understand some words, but not all," RuiZhi said honestly, scratching his arm under his sleeve. "Big words, or words that mean a lot of things, still confuse me." The boy smiled sheepishly, his curious gaze on...

"Oh! I'm sorry, I get so caught up in speaking right. My name is RuiZhi Tai." He withdrew one of his hands, offering it to the teacher with a slight bow. He had no idea what the proper introduction was; he was relying on instinct and what he knew, hoping to be corrected if he was making mistakes.

Dante blinked, taking the hand, then blinked again.

"Oh...OH!!! Forgive me, I did not notice I was talking in Elven. Actually, the correct pronunciation is "heh-loo," Dante said, making sure to annunciate each point, "and it means 'Master' in my language. Do forgive me, I did not recognize...it seems that I still have a bit of a tendency to slip back into my native tongue. It took me relatively little time to remember the Human tongue, but sometimes I still habitually use Elven terms. I cry your pardon."

He looked between the boys. "Are you two blood-related?"

The smile slowly morphed into a small smile. His 'brother' was much more...animated when it came to things. The two were almost opposites when it came to how they spoke. Though he himself spoke with more confidence (and more understanding of the English language), he wasn't one to speak unless it was necessary. His brother seemed to do just the opposite. It made him more friendly.

He looked back up to the professor, noting the professor's lineage. "No. I'm adopted." It times before that, it would bother him that people would have to ask such a thing. With growing up came realization that since the two did seem close to each other, one could assume that they were blood related.

"We both are," RuiZhi chimed in, smiling at his brother. He liked how and who Wei was, with his distinct personality and ways. RuiZhi wanted to make people happy, but Wei spared no extra words for anyone's benefit, simply doing what was necessary...much like Doctor Kenth. It was something boy greatly respected. They balanced each other nicely; he hoped their different methods would help them both excel in their fields.

As far as being related, how was it that their sister said? "Not all brothers are bound by blood," he said carefully, remembering the pains his sister had taken to explain the phrase to him. That one had taken quite some time, enough that she'd mentioned having more grey hairs for it. He didn't understand what grey hair had to do anything, but he understood the saying well enough to be appreciative of it.

RuiZhi turned his smile to the elven man, shaking his head politely. "You don't need to be sorry, we are all learning, yes?" He tried to memorize the foreign word. The way the man said it was quite pretty, and he wondered if the whole language was so fluid. "Heru," he repeated to himself, pronouncing it rather well. It seemed there was more to learn here than he had originally thought!

Dante smiled widely at the two of them; a rareity, especially to those he did not know well. "Indeed. You are wise. My younger sister has a little Half-Elven boy she adopted with her lover named Hateal. And she loves that boy as though it were her own--and you can barely tell the difference between them." He nodded. "Hopefully you both have learned that well to pass on to others."
