It has been quite the week...
I think the Virginia deal was just... not good. People seem to be jumping to bad assumptions already. Just because the shooter wasn't caucasian doesn't mean that it was terrorism...
I just think the families and students need to be taken care of and encouraged to seek therapy if they need it... It's a very, very difficult thing..
Sorry, I think I'd be more elaborate, but it's been a helluva weekend..

One of the local news stations here made an amazing leap of logic I can't follow and claimed the NASA shooting was a copycat shooting from Virginia tech.
This is foolishness, we all know the NASA shooting was more closely attached to the astronaut driving across country to attempt to murder the other astronaut.

Bolon, I think you hit the heart of the matter brilliantly. No one in the US government are in their right minds.

Here in Chile we have a strictic guns law... Just a few people can get guns and they have training. Here is really unlikely to happen something of this magnitude. The only teenagers (to young adults) that have guns are illegal guns.

You know the worst of it? There was yet another (small) shooting at a place I used to go to at least once a month. Two people, dead. Just like that. This is a very disturbing trend, and in all honesty, I wish the US was more like Chile or Canada with gun control.

Oi... what is with the trend in shootings in the US?? My roommate's sister's high school was in a code red lock down several days ago because of a bomb threat or some such. An entire school of high schoolers was forced to stay in their classrooms all day. Most of them didn't get lunch or to even go to the bathroom.
It just makes me sick.

Well, it seems there were TWO threats. One was a prank, and no one knows about the other one. It's pretty ridiculous. Now they have so many crazy rules for the students that it's unbelieveable.
I really hate what all of this is doing to people. With every little threat, freedom is being shut down and taken away. The worst part is how many people are welcoming that loss of freedom.
