Shikamaru brushed his pants off and stretched, "Yeah. That sounds like a good idea." Shikamaru pulled Sasuke off of the ground, "Are you okay?"

Gaara peeked through Akamaru's fur at his older brother. He blinked a couple of times and thought about what Kankurou said. He was probably just saying that so he wouldn't have to worry about his own neck, "Kidnapped? Why would anyone want to kidnap me? And I doubt anyone could hurt me." although Gaara tried to hide the pain, it was evident in his voice, "Besides, why do you care? I thought you and Temari hated me?" he buried his face back in Akamaru's fur, "Everyone else already does." he muttered.

Sasuke shruged. "I have been better." His voice was now back to normal. This made his thoughts turn a totally diffrent corner. "Shall we continue?" He gestured forward. He was pointedly not looking at Shikamaru, or his direction.

"Okay." Shikamaru noticed that Sasuke had averted his gaze. He felt a sinking feeling in his stomach and he felt his heart ache. Why was Sasuke's actions hurt him so badly, but, they did.

Kankuro's face shifted to that of a little shock, and then he lowered his head slightly and sighed. He limped over to Gaara and sat down next to him and Akamarou. "We never hated you..." He muttered, resting a hand on Gaara's shoulder. "It was just hard to... show anything towards you, since it seemed that every wrong thing we said to you would mean sudden death... We were a bit... afraid." There. I said it... Kankuro frowned a bit. "I mean.... the Shukaku....." He then added, wondering if Gaara had thought he meant that they were afraid of Him, and him only.
((Can we say... 'Lumps of meat linked by hatred and murderous intent'?
*just watched that episode*))

Sasuke didn't want to look at Shikamaru, becuase every time he did, his heart would start to pound. He also felt a strange heat filled his face up to the brim. He didn't know what to call it. And anything he couldn't name, bothered him.

Kiba opened his window. "Aka! Lunch! Come back!" He called out, whipping his eyes. He turned back around and didn't notice the two sand nins sitting next to his dog.
Akamaru barked and nudged them both. He cocked his head to side and waited for them.

(( It's supposed to be 'Mere hulls of flesh.' Believe me, I know. I have read that part of the manga about ten times.))
Gaara looked up at Kankurou, "I...you mean, you didn't hate me? everyone else did. They called me a monster and...and..."Gaara buried his face into the front of Kankurou's sweater and cried. When he heard Kiba shout, he looked up. He then looked to Akamaru. Gaara stood up and pulled Kankurou with him. He clutched on to his older brother like a new-born babe to it's mother.

He didn't know what to call it. And anything he couldn't name, bothered him. Soon, they were in front of Shikamaru's house. He unlocked the door and led Sasuke inside, "Hey, are you all right? You haven't said a word since that...thing happened."

Kankuro wrapped a comforting arm around his brother. "Lets go sort things out with Kiba, and then we can talk, okay?" He asked, a bit relieved he wasnt getting swarmed by sand and crushed to death... He started walking along the side of Akamaru, a bit dreading going back to Kiba's. Did he hate him, now, for not realizing his mistake before?

Akamaru yippped and somehow manged to put both boys on his back. He ran back to the house and nudged open the door. Hana was the first to catch sight of them. "Kiba! Make some more human food! We've got a couple of guests!"
Kiba blinked from his sopt in front of he stove. "What do you mean? Did Shino and Hinata come over?" He walked out into the hall and looked towards the door. His poofy eyes widened. "Hana! Why didn't tell me who it was?!" He ran back into the other room and went back to cooking the soup he was making. He half hoped neither sand nin would come in.

Kankuro slipped off of Akamaru's back and helped Gaara down. "Sorry if we're a bit of an inconveniance..." Kankuro said to Hana. "We could leave, if needed. I just need to talk to Kiba, for a bit..." He rested a hand on Gaara's head to show that he wouldnt forget about his promise to talk after he discussed things with Kiba. He then limped into the kitchen with a look of regret and sadness...
"Something smells good..." was the first comment he let out, trying to loosen the atmosphere. Dang, he was never really good at being this nice. "Uhm... Kiba?" He leaned against the wall nearest the stove, looking at the floor.

((Ugh, must go to Grandparents for a while. I'll try to get on later again to night, once I get back home.))
Hana watched Kankuro. "So you two are the two my brother likes." She smiled at Gaara. "Well I have to feed the rest of the dogs now. Feel free to find a dog free spot and sit down. Akamaru, do you want to eat with Kiba and his friends or with the other dogs?" Aka followed Hana out of the room, his tail waving when she said he was going to get his special food for lunch.
Kiba looked sideways to Kankuro. His eyes shot back down to the soup. "What do you want?" He muttered and pulled the spoon out of the soup. He eyed it before dumping it back. "Hana, soups ready! Tell Aka he can have some soup too!" He turned off the stove.

"Listen, I'm..." Kankuro started with a strong voice, looking at Kiba, and then his voice faded as he looked back at the ground. "F-forget it..." He grunted miserably. "I shouldnt have bothered you with my meaningless banter." He murmered and turned around, limping back towards the front door. "Gaara, we should head home. I'll make something for lunch..." He called to his brother. "We'll leave them alone."
((Okiday! I may wind up watching a movie sometime tonight, and spending some time off the computer, but I'll be checking everything at least a few times before I head to bed!!))

"You left Karsu." Kiba muttered. "And I've already made th food, you might as well stay and eat. By the time you two get back to your home it will be dinner or later. Come on." Kiba pulled off the pot of soup and put it on the table in the midle of the room. He pulled out five bowls, putting one on the floor and filling it with soup. He filled the other four with soup also. He set two next to where he was sitting and one down at the other end of the table. Hana came in, moving Akamaru's bowl next to her seat, which was the one across the table from Kiba. Leaving the only spots for Gaara and Kankuro next to him.
