Mooby the Golden Sock In the beginning of the Civil War blacks were not allowed to fight in the military. Nowadays, it's gays that are denied access.
I don't get it. What message do you give when you say, "We dislike you so much that we'd rather our team to go out and die while you stay at home safe?" The way I see it, if you really hate the group, you should WANT them to go get killed. Instead of turning gays away, the Republicans should institute a gay draft. Just like 150 years ago it would have been wise for the racists to make a black draft.
Instead, however, they lost this golden opportunity, and now when people think "black draft" they think of minority firefighters.
Then again, I don't hate any groups. Except the French, of course, but who doesn't? A French draft would suck, though. We'd be wasting our time recruiting retreaters. So instead I think we should be drafting... cats, 'cuz there's way too many of them. It's the only logical option. Black draft? I dont' think of firefighters when I think of black draft. I draft black all the time. It's the best color to draft.

Is it me or is illiteracy becoming institutionalized? Almost every single sign at Aramark has some grammatical error, or just looks like it's been written by a fourth grader. Granted, they hire the local idiots to work there. But what about ACTUAL businesses? I've seen pamphlets and official documents from businesses with typos and poor grammar. For example, I saw a gym that had a quote on the wall in which "whose" and "who's" were misused. I actually prefer typos to grammatical error; I'd rather believe that someone mis-struck a key than that the corporations that I'm depending on for quality service routinely hire people who don't know the difference between "you're" and "your" to project their image to the public. And don't even get me started on companies that wear illiteracy as a badge. McDonald's is a prime example. They intentionally use poor grammar in their advertising and on their products to appeal to idiots. It's no wonder that kids graduate high school with no basic writing skills.

Starting sentences with 'and' and 'but'? Tsk Tsk. Not to mention, you didn't spell 'miss-spelled' correctly. Any errors in the criticizms above, I blame on Microsoft Word.

"And" and "but" were intentional, stylistic uses of the words. Though by no means formal grammar, they are often acceptable in casual conversation. And you misspelled "misstruck."

It is ignored frequently in literature, everyday conversation, and even scholarly writings.

Someone bothered to write on the Commons in big chalk letters that 700,000 Americans will be homeless tonight. It occurred to me that if we redefine "American" to include only those who own homes, we could claim that 0% of our population is homeless.

Although I do like your reasoning and I do agree with it.

What I wonder is what they hope to accomplish with the whole thing. While their statistics are informative, they're hollow and useless on their own. Silly programming board people trying to look charitable by "raising awareness."

Why does "monosyllabic" have multiple syllables? And why does "lisp" end in "sp?" Who are these cruel people making up such cruel words?
BTW: IJLTG.
