Gray started to reply about who, or rather what, "Mercury" was, when Rue and Nic entered; and Gray's thoughts jumped back to the newly identifed girl, "Kayako". "....?! What, she really...then, was Mercury telling the truth when he pointed at that UF vessle?..." Gray shifted, moving slightly closer to a sitting posture; raising himself up a bit on his elbows as he thought out loud. The he rembered the first question.
"-ah, sorry. "Mercury"...You wouldn't know. Mercury...is my LFO."

Nic forced a smile onto her face when the doctor introduced himself. But when he metioned Kayako, she let her smile dissapear. And covered her face, "When...when the wave hit the captain and I were the only people who are with the Rehk that made it on. Kayako...I am afraid is lost."
Inside Nic was asking herself, 'why me?' Slowly letting herself slide down the wall, till she was sitting on the ground, she lay her arms over her knees and let her head hit the wall. Never once lookng over at Rue.

((sorry guys, long weekend))

Rue walked into the bay, unable to figure out just what it was he wanted to say to Nic in there walk. He saw the man on the table and listened carefully between the three speaking. He couldn't quite find a place to interject. The one on the table...Grey? Rue didn't know him, but he found him interesting. He had several questions pop up, but many were business intended, more than he'd hoped.
"So, why were you running from the UF, stranger?"

Nic had decied to just walk out without a word. There wasn't anything really she could do, but she had that same feeling again. And it felt weird, she left the room and sat on the ground just out side the door. Nic tried to sort everythingout, but couldn't. Sitting there lost in her own world she waited for Rue or at least someone to walk out.

(lol don't worry about it)

Novak Foundation......

Ran away???

Kayako's eyes widened at the sound of those words. Her mind swirled in a desperate attempt to remeber what signifigance they had to her, but those thoughts were blocked as she remebered something else that'd she'd failed to take into account earlier.

Pushing against her restraints, she sat up as much as she could and focused her attention on the doctor.

"Hey wait a minute, you! Where's Senturi?? What did you guys do with him??"

At some point Nic had gotten up, and was walking around the Rehk though she knew she really shouldn't be. "I just don't get it. Why do I feel this way?" Nic thought to herself aloud. "I never remember when I last felt like this. I don't like it...I don't like this one bit." When Nic snapped out of her thoughts she realized that she must be almost on the other side of the ship, and should turn back. 'Wonder if Rue's done talking...' Nic thought, silently while walking back to the medical bay.

Gail stretched his arm while sitting in the command room. Terrek had left, needing to finish other duties, but victor remained.

“So Gail… what happened?” Victor asked with no real reason of intention. Gail sighed and leaned back in his seat.

“It happened… I think I almost lost it there.” He rested his cheek against his fist.

“I thought so.” Victor responded simply, and continued with his works. There was a short period of silence, until Gail finally stood up from his seat.

“I’ve tried to go on Victor… I really have. The only reason why I haven’t left already is… well… because I need some one to take my place.” Gail walked to the front of the bridge and dazedly glanced at the horizon. The mountains settled in the distance with hunching shadows. Bellow them the ocean could be spotted with speckled with shifting blues, like a sea of millions of emeralds. Victor cocked an eye brow and shift in his seat, facing Gail.

“What are you trying to say?” Victor asked and curiously waited for an answer.

“I thought about making you captain Victor… but I didn’t want to burden you with such a duty. I know all you want to be is a doctor, and to help people. So that is what you’re going to do… that’s all you ever need to do.” Gail paused and closed his eyes. “I’ve considered every one in our crew… Dess, Terrek, Rue, and Klera, but none of them have everything. Rue has potential, but he takes orders with little acceptation, although he still does it. Klera is an engineer, Dess is a doctor, and Terrek… Well…. I’ve greatly considered him.” He turned around and leaned against the computer panel.

“So you’re finally accepting it?” Victor asked with a small little smile, a kind of smirk.

“Yes Victor. I’m getting to old for this, and I’ve missed out on the chance to do what I’ve always wanted to do.” Gail sighed once more and closed his eyes tighter. Victor curiously tilted his head at him.

“What?”

“I’ve always wanted to start a family… Maybe there is still a chance, but what kind of father would I be?” He laughed at his own comment and then slumped down into a chair. Another period of silence settled in the room.

“Well?” Victor broke the silence. Gail’s eye wandered the room and settled back on Victor.

“I’m fulfilling two more jobs Victor… I’m going to transport the MTAs and then…. I’ll finally transport the item that has been sitting in the docking bay for the past seven years.” He stood up and turned about. Victor was actually watching in shock.

“Wait… Victor, what do you plan to do after those jobs are done?” Victor immediately stood up and demanded the answer. Gail only glanced back with a smirk before leaving the room.

---

Victor blasted into the infirmary. At his side swung a large case.

“Alright then, looks like we have…” He frowned and carefully looked over every one in the room. “Rue, you have mark there on your neck.” Carelessly he waved with his hand and walked over to the boy. Carefully he reached in his case and pulled out a pad with a bottle full of some clear liquid. He twisted the cap off and dabbed the pad.

“This might sting a little.” Gently he lifted the pad and rubbed it across the back of Rue’s neck. “Good, that should calm the irritation.” He smiled and turned back to the group, his eyes spotting the other man in the room… Gray. Every muscle in his body froze, and his case fell to floor. Several items fell out, including a collection of bottles that shattered into jagged pieces, and spreading the floor with mixed liquids.

“Impossible…” He muttered and slowly made his way back to the door. “You’re alive…. You’re still alive? What am I going to do.” He stopped and glanced the around the room. His eyes darted over every one with nervous energy. “Gail…” He whispered under his breath and rushed out of the room, leaving his mess behind.

"....!? Lost...." Gray went silent, a distant look coming to his eyes as he grapsed Nic's statement. An immense sense of guilt suddenly beset Gray.
Mercury was telling the truth, then-I've cuased a innocent to take my place!
.....What have I done, coming here?! I've got to go, I'm a danger to everyone....

Gray distractedly glanced down at the glowing drive embedded in his body; dread spreading through him like spilt ink. With sudden clarity, he remembered the Dark curse of the Inverse drive; the reason he couldn't recall large sections of the recent battle....
Rue's query fell on deaf ears as gray looked down, a dark, sad look coming to Gray's face.

" ....It's my fualt. What nightmare have I condemmed Kayako to...? I'm..."

Gray whisped to himself, abruptly convinced that he had to get off the ship, before...
CRASH!
The sound of shattering glass drew Gray out of his distrught self-musings.
"What...?"

Nic was steps away from the medical bay door when she heard a loud crash. She froze and was dead silent, she had no idea of what had happened between the time she left and when she got back. Nic knew she should go and look to see if everyone was alright but stopped when she saw Victor leaving the room. Hesitating Nic reached for the door just before it closed and walked in.

The crash of shattering glass woke Niko up. He looked to one side to find machines beeping and buzzing. Then he looked at his other side to see his right arm.......

No....

He lifted his right arm immediately to his face. Then he used it to touch his eye and move it around. After that he extended his arm to a couple inches from his face and looked at it frantically. He let his right arm fall and turned his head to look at his left arm. Finally, he relaxed and looked back at the ceiling.

The contact is still on and my arms haven't lost any of the bandages covering them. That's good.....

Rue had let out a yelp, the stinging had made him forget about asking Gray anything, Victor was here and he would handle it. Still, Rue was intriqued with this new comer. As Nic walked back in it seemed as if the entirty of the situation had turned quickly. The strange pilot with a death wish for Rue was awake, and Gray...he seemed as if a civil war was going on his head. Rue wanted very much so to just leave with Nic...and not just the infirmiry, the ship. But this boy...he had a hold on Rue. Rue felt as if he had to stay in case anyone, though all were friend or injured, would try to hurt the one named Gray.

The veiw of Victor was brief; but something about it... Gray's mind felt like it was stuck in slow-motion; he didn't process Victor's comments as he fled the room untill about 5 seconds after the initial "crash!".
" Impossible.... You're alive... You're still alive? What am I going to do?..."
Gray's own thoughts interceeded this replay:
What? What did he....oh, no....It couldn't; I...I know that vioce....It can't be!
Triga.
Victor's vioce seemed to echo in Gray's head, dredging up a suppressed moment; the day Gray had run....
As if sensing the upsetting memories besieging Gray's mind, surges of red light pulsed along the craggy lines of the Inverse Drive; a wicked purple light building up the driver as Gray's eyes dialated, dropping out of focus.
"-g-gah-! nNn...AhHH!!"
The Driver seemed to surge with wicked glee at Gray's reaction, then it erupted into swirling waves of strange energy that fanned out in a flame-like energy. Faint red lines formed over Gray's iris', growing thicker and taking on a darker hue with each second....

Alarms, running footsteps.
"What's going on?!"
"Wing 4; the Adept-he's gone crazy-!"
People running, yelling, screaming.
Meaningless words, cruel scientists begging in gibberish-The same cold, calculating munipulators who twisted lives so boldly now begged for judgement to be forestalled.
Begging, that their own lives be spared.
Lies. They plotted to re-bind him, even as they pleaded.

Gray's breath was exploding from his lungs, a dark, unreadable look on his face; a few, sporatic crimson stains splattered on the white hospital-esque clothing he was stuck wearing. Adrenalin, surging.
A lifeless gaurd lay crumbled agiast the wall, bent at an odd angle, a crack running down the wall he lay agiast. Gray looked around, oblivious to the alarms, the Inverse Drive glowing with black glee.
There was a man, wreathed in a white labcoat, cowering; agaist a overturned table.
Gray walked towards the man, running footsteps of guards coming closer.
"So...What have you to say, my one-time Foe? Do you like your creation?"
Gray leaned close, possesion now clear in his tone and symbolized well by the telltale Red X's. The man whimpered.
"What? Oh, that's right...I'm just a weapon. And weapons shouldn't talk...after all, Mr. scientist, Weapons....should fight, right?"
Gray's vioce sounded borderline psychotic, filled with someone, or something, else's twisted joy.
"No....No, please-!! N---"
"Sleep, Mr. scientist. Go plan your next life to twist...."
The cry was cut off by a sickening crack.
Gray turned from the lifeless foe, hearing a silent call.
"....Mercury?"
Gray turned and darted off down the hall, seeking the LFO that could grant them both freedom.....

Nic gave Rue an odd look, she knew that he wasn't sure of what to do, and he had a lot on his mind. But she had no idea of where to start helping him or for that matter how. She walked foward very slowly not sure of the two new pilots, if they were good or evil. And standing right infront of Rue she let out a weak smile, hoping that he might let something out.
(im back...for now...)

As Niko stirred Dr Dess began bandaging his leg. She had already started a transfusion to replace the lost blood and cleaned the wounds on his head and neck.

"Rest easy mister." None of this is critical and once you've had some more rest and a brace on your right leg you should be doing much better." She said.

Turning to the rest of the room she looked over the scene. Victor had come. She wasn't really sure what to make of it. Turning back to her patient he wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead and continued putting on the bandages.

"You have a hairline fracture. There doesn't seem to be any nerve damage but you will need to wear a brace for a little while. I don't expect it to leave any long term damage but you will have to take it easy. Do you understand... mr..." She looked at him waiting for a name.. a word.. anything.

-----------------------

On the other side of the room Dr Linden seemed ready to cry. Victor had rushed out of the room so quickly and left a mess in the floor. Part of him wanted to run out the door after them. The other half just wanted to clean up the glass.

"Frankly, I just wouldn't know what to say." Moving to clean up the broken glass he looked over his shoulder at Gray. His feet stopped mid stride. The look on the young mans face made Linden quickly walk back.

Pulling out a syringe he moved to sedate Gray.

"The eyes," Linden thought. Out loud all he could say was "Calm yourself son. It's going to be all right." The good doctor tried to push Gray down on the table, and found him to be ridged as stone.

-----------------------

On the currents of a different wind the Lonjinus moved through the air. The smoking signs of battle had been contained and the scars on the hull were patched as well as possible. Inside the scars were all still visible.

Captain Incarte was mad. To be more specific he was furious. "Joy Division!" The words seemed like a slap in the face. In front of the captain sat a small screen. This screen held a video feed from the UF head of Tower city Bellforest. A fat balding man Incarte knew him to be a spinless puppet of the Trading Alliance.

This man spoke again and Incarte's teeth clenched,"That's right Captain. You are to take your ship and the captives from the last two encouteres to Warusawa also known as Joy Division. Once there the engineers of Joy 13 will over see the repairs to your vessel and the captive pirate known as Kayako will be transferred to the Novak Foundation. These are not my orders Captain. They are coming from a much higher source. I suggest you take care in your trip there and do nothing else to jeopardize you're position on that ship."

Incarte said nothing. There was nothing to say. His ship was in disarray and this blow hard wanted him to limp across the sky for the next 2 days to a place known for terrorist attacks and vile backstabbing. The captain only stared at the face of the fat man.

"I see you are disturbed by your orders captain." the Commander said.

"A little sir, yes." said Incarte.

The commander smiled and two rows of chins seemed to form, "If you are bothered by it so much I'm sure we can send another captain to take your ship there in your absence."

"No sir, that won't be necessary. We will have the Lonjinus in Warusawa air space within two days." Incarte said through clenched teeth.

"Good, glad to hear it." replied the commander,"Bellforest out."

The captain stared at the monitor for a few seconds more before giving his orders. The crew made preparations and the new heading was plotted. With the strange trappar geyser behind them the atmosphere on the ship seemed to be more at ease.

Dr. Ordez was still standing over Kayako. His mask-like smile had not changed. When he heard her ask about the Senturi however it faltered.

"Senturi. Yes. You're LFO. I believe it to still be on board. However, I'm afraid I can't permit you to see it. Kayako, we want you to understand. We are not your enemies. No matter what may have happened in the past. We are here to help you. Please don't think me rude, but I can not let you run away again. Not after all this time. We will transfer you to a private room and allow you any indulgence we have aboard, however you will not be allowed to visit your machine."

With that Ordez moved to take the restraints off her and two armed soldiers entered the room. The man motioned towards the door.

"Please, my dear. These men will escort you to your new room."
