He looked up at her in surprise at the compliment. Then he looked back down at the pot, now bubbling merrily over the fire, his expression almost shy. "Thanks." He purred softly, staring at the fire. After a moment, he murmurred, "I'm sorry I hit you earlier." He still didn't look up at her.

"When did you...." Kelala sentance trailed off as it dawned on her and her hand reached behind her head where the lamp hit her. "It's alright.." She said softly as she gave him a small smile.

"I..." He continued to stare at the fire. "And the way I made you feel uncomfortable. In the beginning... I...did it on purpose, to try to scare you." He didn't look up, and his hands folded almost nervously in his lap. He wanted her to like him. He wanted to impress her, but she probably just thought he was strange. Everybody he met did. It got kind of lonely trying to save everyone from this forest.

"Don't worry about it." Kelala said softly looking down and fidgiting a tad. The conversation was getting ackward for her. Considering she in the short time he was with him she had commpletly forgoten about it.

"...Really?" He looked up, his face hopeful, like a lost sinner trying to repent. He looked at her with open admiration for forgiving him, wanting to sweep her into a hug. Something distracted him however from doing so. Whipping a roughly carved wooden bowl seemingly out of thin air, he dished some of the food from the old pot, which seemed oddly out of place next to all the other wooden dishes and utensils, and handed it to her. The food was something like a vegetable soup, heavily spiced and dark in color from all of the herbs he had used. "You still like me, right?" He asked out of nowhere as he stared down at his own bowl.

Kelala smile brightly at him. "Yes." She said confidently with out a second that before she turned her foot. "mmmm." She said after she tasted the soup.

Ovaan beamed at her, both for saying (again) that she did in fact like him, and that she liked his soup. Happily, he settled down to eat, enjoying himself immensely. He enjoyed her company, however strained it was, and it was definetly nice to have someone around to talk to, who could talk back. Having already finished (he was a fast eater), he shifted his sitting position and pulled out the comb that he'd used on her earlier. She hadn't combed her hair after her bath, and the wind had messed it up. Gently, he took a hold of a tangled lock of her hair and began to brush it as she ate.

Kelala paused eating as he began to comb her hair. Smiling softly she blushed again and continued to eat her foot. Enjoying the tast and actualy enjoying the attention he was giving her.

Ovaan looked at her face as he ran the comb through her hair. "You're blushing again." He pointed out, halting in his work. "Is that...a bad thing?"

Why was she smiling? His chest did that weird thing again. "So...it can be a good thing, sometimes?" He asked, his brow furrowed as he tried to peice it together.

"Yes depending on the situation." She said looking up at him and smiling warmly at him. Twitterpatted she began to play with her hair and looked away again.

"Ah." The intelligent glimmer returned to the fairy's eyes. He practically melted under her warm smile and when she turned away, he felt dizzy. Feeling very brave, and unable to control himself, he leaned forward and wrapped his arms around her. "And this is a good situation?" He asked innocently, though he understood already. He just wanted an excuse to hug her. And this time he wasn't going to let her go so easily.

Kelala's blush turned into a deeper red as she leaned into him. "Yes it is." She whispered softly as she layed her head on his shoulder.

Ovaan felt like his chest was going to explode as she laid her head on his shoulder. Maybe if he could get her to like him enough, she would stay with him. She could keep him company, and he could keep her safe. Maybe It wouldn't mind if she stayed here. As long as she didn't leave, she might be safe...
But...how did you get a woman to like you? Enough to want to stay with you?
Now there was a problem.
As his thoughts swirled, so did his eyes, going from one color to the next in rapid succession. He tightened his hold on her possesively.
