"N-nothing," his voice was older, more mature. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Quickly turning on his heel, he continued along to the building, his white wings folded up against his back.

The small vampiress sat on the lawn, stunned at his changes. "Oh, man," she muttered to herself. She watched him turn away, not even moving to get up.

What was that all about? Why did I lose control? he thought. Don shrugged his shoulders and took a deep breath, slowly forcing the angel form back to where it came from. In a few moments he was standing there as himself, wingless and tired.

Mai tried to think quickly, but only one idea came into her head. "Hey! Kellesata, get your butt back here!" The small vampiress sat there, looking angry. "Come on, help me up!"

He sighed and went back over to Mai, lifting her in his arms mechanically. He set her down on her feet and shook his head.

The small vampiress sighed and dusted off her shirt, borrowed from Don. "Thank you. Now, you look like you need to find the dormitories." Mai held out her hand, and hoped the tired man would take it.

"I'm alright," he whispered. He shut his eyes and just let himself go. His body felt like a lead weight, and his wings started to come out again. He seemed to fall forever, and he landed gently on his feathers. He wasn't unconcious or asleep, but he was pretty close.

"Don!" Mai screamed and went to catch him, but was surprised when his wings seemed to catch him gently. The vampiress shook her head and sat again, placing his head carefully in her lap. "You are one odd man, Kellesata." She laughs softly and cradled Don's head gently in her lap.

"Th-thanks...I think..." he muttered, "This is the most I've gone back and forth in one night. It takes a lot out of you..."

Mai sighed and stroked his hair softly. "No problem, Kellesata." The small vampiress shook her head and tried to think. How'd she go from being at his throat when they first met to this?

"Maybe... Maybe here I can keep it at bay..." he whispered, starting to drift off slightly. If he fell asleep it would only be for a few minutes. It was one of the perks to his origins, he needed very little energy to keep going.

The small vampiress smiled and continued to run her hand through his hair. He needed to sleep, but she couldn't move him, not now.

"Maybe here it will stay hidden..." he whispered as he drifted off. He lay there, seemingly dead. He wasn't breathing, he had no heartbeat, nothing...

Mai placed her hand on his chest, her other still half in his hair. "No heartbeat, wonderful..." The small vampiress laughed and placed that same hand on her own chest. "No heartbeat, wonderful! He's asleep, I shouldn't worry about it..."

"His brain? What do you mean?" asked a voice. An image of the doctor Don spoke of flickered into view of your mind. "Simple, I've altered it. I increased the amount of adrenaline that goes to it. Whenever he reaches a peak point of emotion, his brain reverts to an almost animal state. Thus, he gains extreme powers. I call this form, 'Rage'," the doctor said. The owner of the first voice nodded, and wrote something down on a board. "When will we test it?" he asked. The doctor laughed weakly, and started coughing. "The military is on its way here, we'll see him in action shortly," the doctor replied. The first man looked at him with fearful eyes, and gulped. "Here? Have we been discovered?" he asked. The doctor nodded and put his hand on the containment cell where a young boy slept. He was floating in a strange liquid, with mechanical wings coming out of his back and an oxygen mask on. "We should release him from stasis, otherwise he might not wake up fast enough to show the world what he's capable of!" the doctor smiled darkly, and typed something on a nearby keyboard. A loud explosion rocked the room and the first man turned around. "They're here, sir!" he said, pulling a gun. The doctor laughed again, and began to type some more commands. "Soon, my boy. Soon you will show them what you can do!" the doctor whispered.
"Share this dream with me, know my secret. I trust you!"
