"Who was that?" Keegan murmured, staring at his PokeNav for a few seconds before he put the thing away. He glanced around, not quite sure where the Pokemon Center was, but he soon found a sign that pointed him in the right direction. He suddenly wished his bike wasn't bent in half, and grumbled to himself as he walked. He released Themis to keep him company, the small electric Pokemonw as pleased to be getting some fresh air. "I promise, you'll get some battle action soon," he told the Pokemon reassuringly. The Electrike gave a bark in reply, Keegan's word was as good as gold to him.

Riding on the back of the Flygon was familiar, she'd done it just the other day with Mai. Kasiya loved the feeling of soaring through the air; this was nothing like flying with Fang, where she was practically holding on for dear life. The erratic Crobat would probably drop her, thinking it was some sort of game. She felt rather saddened the moment Slateport came into view, and her nervousness came back. Something inside her told it would be alright, and she settled down as they landed near the Pokemon Center. Kasiya slowly made her way over, and, Mai, not sure what to do, followed, but kept her distance.

As he neared his destination, Keegan saw a large, green Pokemon land nearby, carrying two passengers. At first, he didn't recognize either of them, not until he saw Kasiya coming closer. He was shocked at such a dramatic change in her hairstyle, and it was written all over his face. She seemed different somehow, though, and it wasn't just how she looked. "Hello there, stranger," he said with a slight smile, glancing over at the woman she'd arrived with. "Friend of yours?" he asked, looking back down at Kasiya.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 09, 2006 9:52 pm

"Yeah, you could say that," Kasiya replied, running her fingers through her hair. "Actually, Keegan, she's my sister. Half sister. Her name is Mai. Mai, this is Keegan," she said, realizing it'd be rude not to introduce them. "We just found out the other day, it was a bit of a shock," she said with a slight laugh.

"Nice to meet you," Mai said, coming a bit closer. She could at least see why Kasiya would have said yes. This tall, red-headed boy was pretty good-looking. She looked over at Kasiya before she spoke again. "Just so you know, and there's no secrets here, I'm a member of Team Rocket," she said, wondering if he'd actually believe her or not.

Kasiya felt herself go a shade paler than white, and turned to Mai. "Do you tell everyone that you're a part of an evil organization, bent on global domination?"

"Not everyone," Mai replied simply.

".........Oh," was all Keegan could think of to say at that very moment. He scratched his head, and looked down at Themis, as though the Electrike would tell him what to say. "That's... interesting. I don't have any siblings," he continued, not sure where this strange conversation was going. "So, Team Rocket, huh? How'd you guys find out you're related?" he asked, looking back at Kasiya. "I love your hair that way," he added after a moment or two, flashing a smile.

"Long story-" Kasiya went to answer, but she was cut off by Mai.

"It is a long story, but I don't know if now's the time or place to tell it. Perhaps we should go someplace a bit more, secluded?" she said, glancing around. "Come on, we'll go for lunch. It's on me," she added, recalling her Flygon, who'd been watching the Electrike intently. She pointed to the tavern she'd been at earlier, and lead the way, not looking back to see if they were coming or not.

"But this isn't the time or place for that at all!" Kasiya protested, watching Mai walk across the street. She glanced back at Keegan, who was looking like he'd just seen a UFO. "She's really not what this is all about," Kasiya mumbled, turning back to Keegan. A lump formed in her throat as she prepared herself. "There's something I need to tell you," she said solemnly, taking his hand and leading him to a nearby bench. "I can't be your girlfriend," she said simply, lowering her gaze from his. "I'm sorry, and I know I sound selfish, but I can't. I'm so sorry," she said, feeling the familiar sting of tears in her eyes.

"Why would you think that? That you sound selfish? I don't think you do," Keegan replied honestly. "And it's alright. I understand." He reached over and lifted her chin so that she was looking at him again. "It's okay, really it is. I'm disappointed, yes, but it would be wrong of me to try and force you to stay with me. I love having you around, and you brighten my day, I wasn't lying when I said that." He gave a genuine smile, the tears in her eyes threatening to force them in his. "Besides, we're both collecting gym badges now, and in completely different regions from each other. I think it's for the best too," he admitted, slightly relieved to have that off his chest. Even though he was very hurt and disappointed, he couldn't keep her from her quest. "But promise me that you'll let me know whenever you get a new badge, alright? And that we'll at the very least, stay friends?"

"Sounds like a plan to me," Kasiya giggled, her tears falling freely now, as tears of relief. "Thank you," she added, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. "Look at me, crying, as usual." She forced a laugh. "You'd better tell me when you get a new badge too," she added. "And I'll visit! I do love the Hoenn region. It's so beautiful."

"Everything okay over there?" Mai called from the entrance to the tavern. "Are we going to have lunch, or what?"

"Yeah, yeah," Kasiya called back, still wiping her eyes. "Would you join us?" she asked Keegan, as she stood up. "It's a pretty interesting story."

Nina reached her arms out and pulled Kilik into a hug. She held onto him for a moment, and pulled away a little bit. She looked into his eyes for a moment, before slowly leaning back in and kissing him.

The scene kept replaying in his mind, over and over. It was apparent that he wasn't paying attention. Nurse Joy had to nudge him once or twice to let him know his Pokemon were in perfect shape. Flareon and Weezing took their seats across from him and Kilik took Scyther's ball and put it into his pocket. Locking his fingers together once more (again, he thought of Giovanni), he shut his eyes. Why would she lie to me? he thought.

"I, uh, don't think so," Keegan said, standing up and brushing the invisible dust from his pants. "As much as I'd love to hear it, it will have to be some other time." He gave a bit of a sheepish smile. "I have someone I'm supposed to meet, about getting my bike repaired," he said, a bit shocked at himself for spouting out a lie without even really thinking about it. "But we'll meet up again soon, alright?" He gave a bit of a wave and turned on a heel, walking away with his cape fanning out behind him. How could I have been so... so stupid? he thought glumly, forcing back every bit of emotion he had at the moment. "I'll just walk to Mauville. Yeah, that's a good plan," he murmured to himself, his face expressionless as he walked.

Ryka plopped onto a train seat, out of breath. "Whew.. we made it.." Looking up at Jaeshan, she smiled and added, "Just in time too." The train just pulled out of the station, engines gearing up for another adventure. Aurora jumped onto Ryka's lap, and Ryka started petting her. She then turned to Jaeshan. "So..uh.. what's your plan for beating Lt. Surge?" She asked him, not sure what else to say.

"Oh, alright then," Kasiya downcast her eyes as she watched him walk away. "I'm sorry," she whispered again. She felt a hand on her shoulder, and looked up to see Mai standing there. "So, lunch?" she choked out, forcing back her tears.

"Don't worry about him," Mai said reassuringly. "He's a big boy, and I'm sure he'll find someone who'll sweep him off his feet even more so than you did."

Kasiya blinked, and looked up at Mai with an annoyed expression. "You really know how to cheer people up, you know that?" she said sarcastically as she stood up.

"Really? Thanks," Mai winked, catching the tone of her sister's voice. "You're on a roll today, Kasiya. You've told Keegan the truth, that must make you feel somewhat better, right?" Kasiya gave a sigh, and shook her head. "Now if you really want to make some progress on this 'new beginnings' stuff of yours, you should tell Mike the truth now."

"And you should buy me a gigantic ice cream sundae," Kasiya retorted as they walked across the street and went inside the tavern. That'll be the last thing I do, she thought as they found a table and sat down.

((Lala post! *excited* heart I almost forgot what colour I post as Jae with. xD ))

"If I said I hadn't thought about it, I'd be lying," Jaeshan replied, as Mightyena wriggled his way up onto a seat next to him. The boy absent-mindedly pet him, and the hyena-like Pokemon thumped his tail against the seat happily. "I've been thinking non-stop about it pretty much since we were kicked out of the gym before the festival. I'm thinking that everyone on my team will work well, except for Butterfree. She'll be hurt badly against any electric attacks," he said, wincing slightly. "But Nidoking will be immune, and Weepinbell is resistant." Mightyena jerked up his head and snarled at Jaeshan. "And you, of course," Jaeshan said, patting him on the head again. "Just not against any Magnemite or Magneton he may have." Reassured, the Pokemon rested his head on Jaeshan's knee, and closed his eyes. "Bagon may be too young to fight, but if Surge wants a four against four, I'll have no choice. I think dragons are resistant to electricity, or are they weak? I can never remember," Jaeshan laughed nervously, looking at Ryka. "What about you?"

((Welcome back to the land of RP, lala! ))
Almost as if he was walking in a daze, Keegan soon exited Slateport and was heading north towards Mauville City. High above him loomed Cycling Road, and the further realization that his bike was damaged brought on a bought of anger. "Dammit!" he yelled, taking his backpack off and hurling it against the brick wall as hard as he could. In the next second he'd thrown himself against that same wall, and was soon punching it and pounding it with his fists until he realized he couldn't feel them any more. Breathing heavily, the boy slouched down the now blood-spattered wall, and he stared at his bloody and mangled hands in astonisment. "It's been a while since the last time I did that," he said, flexing and shaking them to see if he'd broken any bones. Assured he hadn't, he threw back his head and started laughing, louder and louder until he was in hysterics.

((And now for something completely different!))
"Excuse me, have you seen a boy, about this tall, with a Charizard and a Breloom, come by here?" The man shook his head, and Flannery was forced to continue her search. "Mike!" She shouted, her hands cupped like a microphone. "Where are you?! MIKE! Where did you go? MIIIIIIIIIKE!!!" The gym leader wandered around Petalburg City, calling Mike's name as she went. "He wouldn't have just left without telling me, would he?" she pondered aloud. "MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKEEEEEEEEEY!! ARE YOU EVEN IN THIS REGION ANYMORE?"
