::Myyth scoops up the tiny green::

How could I not come? You called me.

::The little dragon seemed to smile, and to strech a bit, much like a cat::

Very true, as if you could resist me. I smell meat.

::Myyth smiled before replying to the dragon::

Only just born and already hungery, at least I payed attention to this part of the hatching explanation

::Myyth walked over to the bowel of meat, and began to feed the tiny green the smallest pieces she could find. Even so the little dragon still had trouble with some of the meat, but by the third or fourth piece she was eating with out diffcultly::

T'thia and Arizath relaxed as they saw Wrath stop her rider

Wrath says it's fine, it is meant to happen

T'thia watched as the girl impressed the green. she motioned towards the bowls of meat and watched as the girl fed the dragonet

"that was a daring feat, but a good choice" T'thia winked and then went to escort another pair off the sands[NPC pair]

Arizath sat back and resumed the soft hum of the dragons his eyes whirling calmly once more as he watched the rest of the hatching.

::Looking up from her munching dragon Myyth watched what was left of the hatching::

Not much longer I should think, little one

::she said scanning the sands for a moment::

Smaller pieces of food, and more of them. What do other dragons mean to you? You have me.

::the dragon procced to grab a piece of meat larger than her head::

You are enough for any two candidates, and will be handful, if now is anything like you will always be.

::Myyth said ruefully, pulling the meat out of the dragon's mouth and replacing it with a far smaller piece.::

You are an odd dragon, I've been feeding you for a few minutes and I still don't know you name. You first words were somewhat unconventional.

I am Spirith.

T'thia broke from the trance of the hatching and smirked to herself

"guess it's my turn to guide the wyrelings off the sands"

t'thia quickly disembarked from the stands and stepped onto the sands to stand next to the girl known as Niko

"he's a fine blue. fallow me"

she walked with the pair over to the table set with the bowls of meat for the new dragonets. she stood next to the table watching the others impress waiting for her next duty to escort a pair off the sands
Niko smiles proudly, and nods thanks as she grabs a bowl of meat and sticks it into the open mouth of her new blue, who was half growling-half crying for food, and trying to bite the food out of her hand. I love you, Gyomanth, but please don't bite my hand off...!

The hatchling snorts indignantly. I'd never bite your hand off, silly!! I have more control then that!!

In a few years, maybe...
Niko thinks back, smirking, while continuing to shovel food into Gyomanth's gaping jaws.

The first-hatched green lets out a shriek as she notices some nearby candidates. She had been so busy getting used to the world that she forgot that the person she needed was so close. Shaking some of the sand from her hide--but not all of it--she stumbled toward Feather and caught her claws in the girl's robe. It's you!

As the little blue moved on, the bronze was still crossing the sands on his way to the boys. Watching him for a moment, she wondered who would be the lucky one, when she heard a babyish shriek. Turning, Feather saw the green hatchling shaking sand from herself as she made her way over... Feather blinked, and looked around at the other Candidates nearby, then back at the approaching dragonet. There was no mistake, the Hatchling was headed for... me? She wants me?

Shocked, hardly able to believe that what was happening was real, she stared as the green stopped and grabbed a fold of her white robe. Suddenly, there was a pair of glowing eyes staring right back at her. It's you!

"I... you..." She fell to her knees before the hatchling. Gently, she caught her green's forepaw, disentangling it from her robe, then brushed the remaining sand from the green's hide. The dragon crooned in thanks. My name is Aireth. "Aireth," she breathed, completely caught up in this magical moment... until a disturbance made them both look over. The bronze one was now tangled with a brown. They watched the two for a moment, before Aireth looked back at Feather and creeled. When do we eat? "Right now," Feather said with a laugh. "C'mon, right out here there'll be some food for you." Turning their backs on the wrestlers, they headed for the exit.

The bronze makes his way back to where he'd first started, near the broken pieces of his own egg. He nears Boryanor and Gabriel and his eyes begin whirring. One of these was his. But which one? They were both ... good. Undecided, he stops, tail twitching.

Playfully, his brother brown pounces on the bronze's tail. The bronze yelps and trying to turn to snap at the brown, topples instead. Refusing to let go of his prize, the brown is yanked off his feet, and the two hatchlings tangle.

((Boryanor, Gabriel, you can try to separate the two. Carefully. They aren't hurting each other yet, but they are quite uncomfortable.))

Watching the blue stand and walk away, Boryanor watched as it wandered toward some of the girls. A young green also seemed to be headed in that direction. I wonder if Feather will Impress one of those two? I hope she does, she's cool.

Something made him look away before he could find out, though. Standing before him was the bronze, looking at him and the guy next to him. He stood there, reminding himself to breathe, when a brown suddenly pounced on the bronze's tail. With a startled cry, the bronze tried to turn in retaliation, but ended up losing his balance and sent them both sprawling in a tangled heap.

"Hey!" Jumping toward the pair, Boryanor started trying to pull them apart. "Hold still, before you seriously hurt yourselves! I can't help much with you squirming like that." Carefully, he tried to untangle the two.

((Work, you *%&&$@# computer! scream ))

Gabriel watched as the bronze stumbled over to where he and another boy stood. Apparantly undecided about something, the dragonet just looked at them with his whirling eyes.

He jumped as a playful brown suddenly attacked his brother's tail. Before he realized what was up, the pair became a tangle of wings and limbs. He swiftly moved to help them, just one step behind the other Candidate. The boy was trying to get them to settle, and as he did Gabriel went around to the other side of the bronze/brown mass. Reaching out, he carefully attempted to free the brown without getting anyone's claws caught on anything. I hope these two don't become enemies over this, he thought as he worked.

Finally free from the tangle his brother had created, the bronze returned his attention to the boys who had helped him. The brown was freeing himself from the grip of one of them, so the bronze turned to the other. You are mine now, he tells Boryanor seriously.

Finally, the brown was on the ground and upright, just in time to watch his brother Impress. then turns toward Gabriel. Do you have food? I'm hungry!

Another egg wobbles over, nearly hatched.

Ray glances at the remaining eggs; counting the one that had cracks threaded through its surface, there were three normal-sized ones, all moving strongly. She couldn't see anything from the last two tiny ones though. She'd have to examine the shards that Myyth's green came from.

There was still a blue prowling.

The two watched the hatchlings wandering around, Tolara smiling softly while Glith rumbled in approval.

Teal's excited chittering was starting to draw attention from the people in the upper part of the stands. A few of the younger ones looking up at him and pulling on their parents sleeves asking what was wrong with him. Teal didn't care though he was so happy it was hard for him not to fly down among the candidates and chirp happily but he had been taught better than to do that and even knew better than to for he could scare the little dragonets causing them to hurt themselves. Sending images back he was actually sending an image every minute.

T'thia watched as the boys disentangled the two dragonets and strode over to the one who impressed the bronze

"you fly my colors"

she winked at him and smiled at the other newley impressed wyreling before regarding them both

"fallow me before your dragonets eat their own tails"

she said jokingly and lead them towards the table with the bowls of meat, on her way she motioned for feather and her green to fallow

"this way"

she instructed as she lead the small group away from the unhatched eggs and out of the way towards the food for the young ones. she caught sight of the girl who had impressed the blue

"not too fast now you don't want him to choke"

she told the wyreling with a smile, hatchings always seamed to put everyone in the best of moods especialy thoughs who had memories to recall.

Finally free from the tangle his brother had created, the bronze returned his attention to the boys who had helped him. The brown was freeing himself from the grip of one of them, so the bronze turned to the other. You are mine now, he tells Boryanor seriously.

As he and the other boy finally managed to separate the dragons, the bronze steadied himself and again looked at them both. In moments, Boryanor found the glowing, whirling eyes of the new bronze locked with his. You are mine now, the hatchling said, right in his mind. Boryanor's eyes almost popped from their sockets. "Me?" Slowly, he knelt in front of the bronze. "What's your name?" I am Iavoth, the dragon replied.

He almost jumped when he heard someone approaching. Somehow looking away from his new friend, he saw a girl standing there. "You fly my colors," she said with a wink. "Follow me before your dragonets eat their own tails." What does she mean, eat my own tail? I would never do that. Iavoth said as he walked beside Boryanor toward the area where others were already feeding their hungry dragonets. "It was meant as a joke," he explained. "She didn't mean that you really would try to." If one doesn't mean it, then why say it? That doesn't make sense. the bronze said seriously.

They had reached the table laden with bowls of meat for the newly-hatched. "Here, let's just concentrate on this for a minute," he said as he snagged one of the bowls and popped a couple bites into his dragon's open mouth. "Remember to chew." Obediantly, Iavoth began chewing the pieces. Hey, this is good! he swallowed, and creeled for more.

((Iavoth, that's pronounced ee-AAH-voth))

The larger of the five remaining eggs finally broke open with a snap, revealing a brown. He clawed his way out of the shell and tried to shake off some bits that were clinging to his back. He toppled over onto his side but got right back up.

The two tiny ones weren't moving, but the other two, of a more normal size and resting side by side were wobbling strongly. Within seconds of each other, the two eggs cracked, one splitting and falling away neatly, and the other fragmenting into small shards, both eggs revealing greens.

One of the greens hurried toward several girls and chose one quickly, leaving three hatchlings on the sands.

((yay for NPC weyrlings... now i can teach class even if no one shows up. Just waiting on AndrAIa to post so she can Impress and I can pawn off the last two on more NPC weyrlings... and then the feast!))

Standing the freed brown on it's feet, Gabriel ws surprised when the dragonet turned to look at him and said Do you have any food? I'm hungry!

"I... no, I don't have any with me," he said, startled by the question. "We can get you something outside, though. Come on." They'd only gone a couple steps when someone talking with the other Candidate noticed him and smiled, before directing them over to a table. "Here we go, food to ease an empty stomach." He grabbed one of the bowls and began feeding the little brown before it really sank in. He'd just Impressed! Mouth agape, he stared at the dragon, his dragon. "I feel so bad," he admitted as he fed the brown another bite. "Here we are, and I don't even know your name." My name is Mirth the dragonet replied as he contentedly chewed.
