((gaia ate my earlier post, for some reason, because I know it sent >.< I'm just gonna say the exact same thing))
Niko smiles as she walks into the dining hall, keeping up her mind-to-mind conversation with Gyomanth while looking all around at the many dragonriders. I wonder where the other candidates are...? Niko wonders.
Probably with their dragon's, or pigging out on food, rider-mine. Gyomanth says in her head.
Smiling, Niko laughs softly. Of course, dear Gyomanth, whatever you say... She thinks back, all the while looking for anyone else in white candidate's robes.

R'nek smiled again at the boy, sighing internally. He felt so much older than the other weyrlings, though realistically several of them were probably older than he. He stretched out his hand, folding a slice of wherry into a neat roll and popping it tidily into his mouth.

::Myyth sat at the table watching the a few of the older riders getting drunker and drunker. The feast is just seems to be endless.....Ha, at least the riders are providing some entertainment.
She shook her head at their uttter drunken-ness. At least their still having fun. At least there are a few other candidates in here. I wonder what their doing?. She looked about and saw a few others scattered at the diffrent tables. There were only a few, because the clutch had been so small.
I wonder how the weyrling classes will go....Spirith is so small. I hope she grows and catches up with the other greens in time. She certainly eats enough to feed a normal green or two......

T'thia woke in the wyreling barracks with a pounding headache. she pulled her sleeping furs up over her head with a groan as she battled for more sleep. Arizath was of course up and bright eyed
let's fly! i wanna stretch my wings!
"uhhnnn...not so loud Riz, i have a spliting head ache"
you were told not to drink so much. come on i wanna fly
"alright alright, lemme get the straps and my boots on"
T'thia threw the furs back away from her and stuffed her feet into her clammy riding boots before taking the straps off the peg at her bed side and striding out to her Bronze dragon which ahd come to rest in front of the wyreline barracks
"looks like you and your straps need an oiling"
she commented as she set the straps on the large dragon and checked the buckles
"which we will take care of when we get back"
wearily the girl hauled herself onto the dragon and leaned forward pressing ehrself to the neck ridge as the bronze leaped up with the neck breaking power he always did and began to circle the wyre. the cold wind against her face woke the girl up quickly and oddly enough helped to aliviate some of ehr head ache.
the girl took her time in the flight. Arizath telling her when his wings were fully stretched. she landed her dragon close to the wyreling barrakcs and gathered several pots of oil and a rag before heading with her dragon over towards the lake. she stripped Arizath of the straps and stripped her boots and riding coat off rolling up her pants and wading into the water Arizath setteling in for his bath. he crooned as the girl took up the bathing brush and scrubbed at the bronze hide. when she'd finished bathing the large dragon she set to oiling the large creature. once done with that a gleaming dragon went off to sun on his favorite ledge for the day. the girl then sat down wearily and began to oil the straps with the last bit of oil left in the pots. finished with ehr chores she deposited ehr riding gear and things back in the barracks and pulled on her soft boots heading towards the lower caverns for some klah and a late breakfast

Ray yawns. Most of her memories of last night are fuzzy, and her head feels as though she'd been kidnapped by the Mastersmith and used in the place of an anvil.
Carefully sitting up, she looks around. She's in her own weyr. She is alone, except for Isskio, who stirs sleepily, and Wrath, who is back in her rightful place on the large stone couch. Letting out a huge breath of relief, she pokes through her memories of last night. After T'thia had run off, possibly to get sick? the night had blurred somewhat. She remembered wandering through long empty hallways--or was that a dream? And Wrath was talking to her, guiding her. Only... how could the dragon know her way around the tunnels of the Weyr?
Rubbing her temples, she makes her way to her feet, finds some clothes that are, amazingly, clean, and staggers over to her private bathing room. Rank hath its privledges, and her own heated pool was one of them.
Only... she would so prefer a cold one about now. Isskio doesn't mind the heat, diving into the steaming water and splashing about gleefully.
Clean and dressed, she feels much better, and decides to start the day. It's a bit later than usual, and as she walks past the dozing Wrath, the large queen stirs. I think I should bathe as well, Wrath comments. And you should eat.
"That was the plan," Ray admits readily. "You can manage a bath by yourself, can't you?"
Of course. I'm all grown up. I'm even a mother now. More than you can say! The queen's tone has a chuckle to it.
"Please! Children are the last thing on my mind! Move your bones, you can fly me down to the bowl before your bath."
Wrath snorts, but obliges, hefting herself to her feet and trundling out of their weyr. On the ledge, Ray mounts, hoping one of the new weyrlings are out and about to see her bad example of flying without a harness.
The young ones sleep, mostly. The disclaimer caused Ray to glance down sharply. A large bronze bulk is on the sands, dozing.
"That's Arizath, isn't it?" Wrath bobs her head, then drops off the ledge to glide lazily toward the water. Nudging the dragon with her heels, Ray reminds Wrath that she's headed first toward the cave entrance to the lower caverns.
Oops. Wrath corrects her course. She lands briefly, time enough for Ray to slide off her shoulder and scramble out of the way of her wings, before taking off again to dive into the middle of the lake.
Ray watches the queen long enough to see the gigantic splash she creates, then heads inside to find some klah, food, and see if there was any news.

Tolara yawned, leaning up against the wall. She had been there all night and still was no nearer completing her goal. Glith had fallen asleep in an unoccupied weyr long ago.

Stretching, Ava rolled over and almost fell out of bed. Followiong her usual routine, she spent several minutes admiring Faith's golden hide, before getting up and digging through the trunk at the foot of her bed for today's clean outfit.
As she changed, she heard the rustle of wings behind her. "Good morning, Chime," she said to the green flit. "Are you ready for your breakfast?" The green cheeped at her and darted out of the room, presumably to the kitchen to wait impatiently for her mistress. Smiling and shaking her head, Ava followed.

T'thia reached the lower caverns and slumped down on a bench holding ehr head up with one hand propped up by her elbow on the table. she gave a groan. a drudge, who was all too familiar with the signs of the after effects of wine, came over quietly and softley set a bowl of stew and a large mug of klah in frnt of the bronze rider. T'thia managed a smile
"thank you"
she breathed as if the drudge had just saved her life. the young rider then set to devouering the food. when she was finished and was sitting sipping on the hot Klah to her unfortunate delight all three of ehr flits came streaming into the hall screeching for food
"Lira, Orneth, Huntu. keep it down! i'll feed you in a second just stop screeching"
the flits silenced obediantley and took their respected perches on the girl's shoulders. the drudge then braught over a bowl of scraps to which the flits looked at hungrily. Huntu, the blue, nearly dove for the bowl but Lira, the queen, screeched at him and halted him in mid launch. the three flits bronze, gold, and blue, daintily hoped down to the table and orderly ate the food offered them. once finished Huntu of course took off to find the sunny ledge Arizath was sunning on to curl up with his larger kin. Lira and Orneth took their noble places on the girl's shoulders as she refilled her cup and stood to leave. she looked at her queen
"how are you three for oiling?"
the queen crooned at what she took as an offer then sent an image of Huntu already oiled
"when...who oiled Huntu?"
the bronze Orneth sent an image of T'thia's favorite blue rider T'orn. the girl grinned
"he always had a soft spot for Huntu. perhaps i should allow Huntu to go with T'torn"
the girl shrugged then headed towards the supply room to gather another pot of oil to oil her tiny friends in the sun by the lake

Feeling much refreshed for having found some breakfast, Ray looks around.
Is that Tolara? Fort's Weyrwoman? What business could have brought her here so early?
Ray heads over curiously. If it had been important, surely Glith would have bespoken someone's dragon to get their attention, right? As she draws closer, she notices that the Weyrwoman looks haggard.
"Greetings, Tolara," Ray says cautiously. She hasn't dealt much with the Fort Weyrwoman, but knows of the recent death of the Weyrleader there. Perhaps that accounts for the worn out expression.

R'nek slips back into the weyrling barracks. He'd gone out earlier, well before dawn, and had climbed the cliffs just outside the Weyr. Watching the sunrise from that place; it was beautiful. So serene. He'd had a similar place back at the Hold, that no one had known about. They didn't much like it, he'd been whipped a few times for not telling people when he went out, for staying away for hours, and especially for not telling people where he went. He'd been safe though - there was a small cave in the cliff he could have tucked himself into had Thread come.
R'nek sighed and sat down on the bed. Famyroth had woken and was already on the ledge outside, sunning himself in the early morning's light. He supposed Roth would be hungry soon, and need a good oiling. How did one oil a dragon? It would surely take a while, especially when they were older, and Roth was a big enough brown as it was. He didn't envy the new bronze rider.
The young man stood again, tugging down his long, belted tunic and stepping back outside. Hey Roth.
Good morning, ridermine. You woke early.
I usually do. R'nek smiled warmly at Famyroth.

::Myyth was running accross a green field, toward something. Then out of no where something landed on her chest, knocking the wind out of her. Myyth woke up sputtering and trying to breath.::
"That was an odd dream....::looks aroundand notices her tiny green dragon sitting right next to the bed a very smug look planted accross her draconic face.::
"But not so odd looking at you.....::as she looked at the top of her blanket:: ....and the wet dragon print on my bed.
::looks highly amused:: You sleep to long. I've already been swimming and you were still asleep. I'm hungery.
"Swimming?! Where did you go swimming?"
Where the water is. And that smelly sand stuff
"Oh....in the batheing room. Alright, but next time tell me first. Now lets go see about breakfast, for both of us."

Kara awoke with no fuzzyness of the night before since she had decided that the other riders were drunk enought for everyone. She dressed and headed with Rivath down to the lake to bathe the large colorless dragon.

Hey, wake up! I need you!
Yawning, Feather cracked open an eye. Mere inches from her face, Aireth watched her with glowing eyes that were whirling red with hunger. Stretching, she yawned again and sat up. "Okay, I'm awake. Just give me a minute to get dressed."
Will that take long? I'm hungry now.
"Mm mmph mm-mm." She pulled her tunic down over her head and repeated, "I won't be long." She reached over and caressed the green's snout. "And as soon as I'm done, we'll go find you some breakfast."
Food! Aireth flapped her wings happily.

Tolara yawned, covering her mouth halfway through. Pushing off the wall slightly she straightened and smiled at Rayi's formal address.
"Greetings, a wonderful clutch. Have you seen Weyrwoman Beriardi lately? I came to talk to her last night but a bit too late. It seems you had already broken into the wine."

Ray grins a bit sheepishly, "Sorry, I haven't seen Beriardi since last night, I think she hit her limit pretty early and headed off to her Weyr. I can ask Wrath to bespeak Netesath if you like, to see if Beriardi is awake yet. Or Glith could, I suppose."
While speaking, Ray recalls that she still has to gather the Weyrlings for the Introductory Speech, and makes a mental note about it.
