Chrono spotted the Captain, already engaged in a conversation with the girl he'd seen scrubbing the floors earlier, but approached him anyway.

"Ah... Captain, sir." He said, touching the man's shoulder and giving it a light shake. "Rosette... one of the mages, she wnated me to send word to you that she's solved the matter of those voices we were all hearing. The mage herself is... er... currently resting now, but she thought you should know, Captain."

Zeiser glanced over his shoulder at Chrono. "Yes, what is it?" he asked. Though his tone was calm, it was clear, he was unsettled with Chrono's contact. Then he sighed. It was hard for him to hide his sour mood as it continued to grow with Chrono stating to him the obvious. "Thank you, sir, but that has already been made quite clear to me." Then he remembered Chrono's position as navigator which reminded him of a rather important question. "Ah, we've been neglecting our duties due to this incident as well. Now that everything is coming back under control, would you make sure we're still on course? After you do, report to me immediately."

Trimley
Zeiser was monitoring everyone at once, yet another skill he'd been honing since his first day as a Captain. He was reprimanding the radicals and encouraging others that it would soon be dealt with. Those with less radical ideas assisted him in spreading the word, and sure enough, it was soon dealt with. Immediately, everyone took on a look of relief, and even the radical crew members began to calm down.

Then he turned and was confronted with the female dragon, currently in human form, and from the looks she was desiring his attention. He caught a glimpse of Rhiannon walking away hurriedly before acknowledging Tanyeera. "Yes, ma'am, what's concerning you?" He glanced around while he waited for her reply, making his usual scan of the crew. He could never let them out of his sight for more than a minute.

"Sir." Tanyeera said. "I was engaged in cleaning up the walls of the so-called bloody writing as I thought it might have something to do with the voices. However, while thus engaged, I noticed that the writing wasn't in fact in blood. It was just red paint. I am a dragon with the keen sense of smell all my race possess and I can voich for the fact that it was indeed paint and not blood on the walls. Some hooligans' idea of a joke I guess. Thought I should let you know sir."

Realizing she was standing in the middle of a conversation, Lila silently moved way. 'That was paint?!' she thought. No wonder it looked too out of place, after all, who would truthfully cut themselves just to spook the ship?'

The thougt ran through her mind about the blood. Maybe she would clean it up? Or maybe the mages, if they had the power, could make spells of writing that would counterbalance the cursed words. Lila went down to the area where the blood had been sighted and saw a bucket of water and a scrubber. She decided she would wait until the person who was scrubbing to come back before she did anything.

Gavin nodded, receiving a significant boost in confidence. He was positive they would recover from this with ease. "Thank you, ma'am. I'm going to spread the word." He moved to the upper deck, and saw many were already watching. When he spoke, everyone looked. "As you are all well aware, the voices have been dealt with. Our mages have succeeded in dealing with the source and have placed protective spells to prevent further occurences. You can rest assured. Secondly, there has been rumor floating around about blood on the walls below deck. One of our guardswomen has just informed me that it was not blood, but rather paint used to feign the appearance of blood. Somebody is trying to cast you all into doubt so that you will abandon ship at next port. That someone will be punished severely when I get ahold of them. So do not worry. It will be settled in the near future. That is all for now. Please, return to your duties." He stepped back down and watched the crew start moving back to work. Perfect. They were respecting him.

Tanyeera listened to the captain make the speech with appreciation. That would help settle rumors and etc so the ship could continue to Pelegre with full crew. It was just what she'd been hoping for when she'd made her report to the captain.

Once the speech was done, she headed back below deck to finish cleaning up a bit. She thought maybe she'd leave some faint bits of the "bloody" writing so sailors could see for themselves that it really was only paint.

Brakus was happy again. He had found his pipe and his striking stick and was puffing merrily on the end of the pipe as he strolled topside once more, a halo of smoke wafting around his head and in and out of his shaggy man and his tucked in beard. He managed to emerge from below right as the captain was addressing the crew and he chuckled to himself.

“So twan’t me drunken head that was full of them voices eh?” He sucked hard on the pipe and began to chew on the end with his teeth in a grinding fashion. This news was not exactly welcome to his ears. This meant either one of two things. A) It meant that some fool had gotten drunk and had decided to play a trick on the crew or B) There was someone else aboard this ship that had motives apart from what he let people believe. And if the latter was the case, he needed to find out as soon as possible if this individual was a threat to the ship and to his own mission. He had been honored when he had been selected to carry out this mission and no two-bit sorcerer was going to stop him.

So with that thought, he hoisted up his belt to better snug his beard into it and began to walk towards the captain through the sea of crewmembers that began to disperse as per the captain orders. He shouldered his way through the crowd until got close enough to the captain that he knew his voice would be heard and in his gruff tone, he spoke. Smoke filtering out with each word/

“Oi, cap’t!.Might I be havin a word with ye in private?”

As Zeiser stepped down and began to move beneath the main deck, he was approached with the drunken dwarf, which he now recognized as the head cook. "Yes, of course. If you'll follow me to my quarters, we'll discuss it there." He led Brakus down into the hold and to the back of the ship where his quarters were. When the door was closed behind them, Zeiser addressed Brakus once more. "Before we begin, may I ask your name? I feel foolish when lacking the names of my more important crew members."

"Everything's in order...Right on track..."Chrono muttered to himself as he checked their direction for the thrid time. It didn't hurt to be sure. Chrono glanced down at the lower deck, seeing Rosette still fast asleep. Things were turning out better than he'd expected. He'd truthfully expected something worse to happen on this trip. He quieted himself, he should have think such things, no need to jinx the entire voyage.

"Hrm..."Rosette grumbled, turin her head to the side and drawing Chrono's coat around her more tightly.

Nodded as the captain addressed him and he gave a large puff on his pipe in satisfaction. Excellent. He followed silently behind Zeiser as he was lead towards the private chambers of the captain. He walked in and gave a short whistle as he looked around the room.

“Well now, ain’t this nice.” He pulled the pipe out of his mouth and blew the last bit of smoke into the air and the stowed the pipe away into his belt, figuring it was best not to be so rude as to smoke in a private room. He turned around and looked up at captain and a smile formed amongst the mass of tangled beard.

“Well, pardon me for fargetten this be tha first time we formally meet.” He made a deep bow. “Me name is Brakus Ironshield and I’m yar cook.” He rose up and shrugged “But I bet ya knew that last part already.” He relaxed a little and took a moment to consider how best to go about this. Carefully to be sure. He wasn’t sure just how far he could go with Zeiser before he would arouse undesired curiosity, something he was not to keen on having. So with a friendly tone, he continued.

“Firstly Cap’n I want ta be apoligizen for me rude manners earlier. To much grog in me head ya know.” He poked his forehead with a long figure and gave a disarming smile. “I’m not to keen on tha water an’ I figured a little ale would sooth me nerves. Went a little overboard I guess.” He paused and his demeanor changed from a pleasant, formal front to a very business like fashion “So about these voices and this written…” He said slowly, his hands clasped behind his back “What do we know? Cause in all honesty I’m none to keen on being en tha galley alone with a crazy mage. That place tis creepy enough an’ there ain’t exactly a lot of room ta swing me axe down there.”

Tanyeera was putting her extra strength to good use, vigorously scrubbing away the marks. She was almost done. Only about two more walls to go after she was done with this one.

Rhiannon paced fretfully behind Rosette as she placed her hands on the main mast. What was taking her so long? Rhi's head was pounding something fierce, and if these voices didn't let up... and then they did. She paused abruptly in her steps, and looked up. They were gone. They were gone!
She moved her gaze to Rosette, speechless. So... all it had been was one simple spell, guarding against something no one ever thought was real...? She resumed her pacing, then finally sighed and leaned against the thick wooden mast. Then Captain Zeiser addressed the crew, directing them to go back to what they should have been doing. How long had it been? One hour? Two hours? All she knew was that the sun was long set, and the night was colder than before. Right, the Captain. She had to speak with him...

She glanced about the ship, heading toward the place he had spoken. Many of the people were still milling about, mutter amongst each other. The sound was not unlike the spooky disembodied voices she had heard only moments before. Hmph. Then she caught sight of him, walking in the wrong direction. She walked faster. She was about the call out when he reached the doors of his cabin, but she paused. The cook was with him. What did he want with the Captain? She frowned and stopped her pursuit.

Sighing, Rhi began to walk the deck. The air was cold, but she was tired. It had been a very very long day... and she looked forward to falling into bed. Perhaps she would do so soon. But she was still on edge from the events of the night. She walked to the rail and gazed out over the dark water sliding past.

((We need to pull into port Rekitose soon, because we have some new characters waiting to come on board... another funky timewarp is in order! =] ))

((Okie dokie. mrgreen ))

Tanyeera finally finished scrubbing away the marks and wiped the sweat off her forehead. Whew! That had been harder than she'd expected. She'd been scrubbing with all her strength for about four hours straight. At first, she'd thought to leave a few marks so the crew could see it was really nothing but paint, but her compulsive desire for neatness had gotten the better of her.

[Hope everyone's been doing well. Time warp? Ach, I'll just get my characters to bed then. >w< Sorry this is shorter than what it could be. XP]

After curving around the sails, Luft realizes that the bizarre voices have ceased to sound and nothing is nearing the ship from the air nor the sea. The gray griffin clucks in satisfaction with her beak. Veering around towards an empty deck her strong wings carefully drift her downwards to her desired roosting place. With the night developing more and more, the temperature dropped. The cold air stings flesh and slows joints, distant sounds of waves on the lower hull of the ship induces a calm feeling among some of the crew. She sighs as she lets her dark feathers puff out just a bit, to further ensnare some body heat. Ever alert the creature's beaked head remains upright, wings tucked neatly at her sides for extra warmth. Since something interesting has already occurred on the first sailing day, the griffin surmises that she should be on full alert at all times now and perhaps become more serious if she is to protect the crew and her Superiors. Feeling her fatigue from the previous hours of flying around the ship in circles, Luft slowly lowers her head down onto her outstretched front legs, her back legs and tail respectively covering the wooden deck behind her.

Coming into the shared room to find his new friends already asleep, the hertasi male sneaks out onto the decks again so as to not get bored. He walks about in the shadows. Gesten is not trying to be sneaky, although it would seem as such. No, he is merely avoiding being seen by the Gryphon Sentry. For he plans on surprising the familiar beast within his own time and by his own means of greetings. One of the sailors requests a moment of his time. Gesten kindly agrees; Luft's surprise can wait another day. After aiding a few of the men with the loose ropes securing the sails open, he looks over the edge of the crow's nest to admire the nocturnal beauty of The Seraphim. Lights faintly show along the outer rim, perhaps some of the white wood has even been enchanted to glow sweetly. In any case, it seems as though the ship herself was made entirely of ivory. A smile stretches his lizard lips, Gesten's tongue makes a routine flick over his face in a pleased manner due to the sight. Climbing down, he finally goes to his shared room and sleeps.
