Sophie looked from her sheet of paper to the duplex numbers as she hurriedly strided down the lower level, looking for 59. In theory, it would be after 57...but, then again, sometimes people vandalized the numbers, and she was only going from a sheet she'd seen in the Cafeteria. What if she couldn't find it? What if it wasn't Marshall's duplex? What if the real occupant ate her?!

The woman made herself stop, taking a deep breath as she rubbed her temples. She just had to relax: after all, it was only the author of one of her favorite comics...and he was only entirely infuriated by her presence the first and last time they met...

No pressure, sure.

Written apology in hand, she started walking, until sure enough, she found 59. Right after 57. Go figure. She took another deep breath, sighed, then knocked on the door just as hard as she could do without actually hurting her knuckles. She didn't give the penguin man time to answer, though: after she knocked, her panicked mind instantly assumed that there was no way he was home, and she took the folded note and left it on his doorknob so that it would be there when he got back. Sighing, she paused for a moment to stare at it, a weak smile on her face. At least she could now say she'd tried to make amends.

Marshall groaned, rolling over onto his good side. He had wasted all of yesterday and the day before that! And now he was too exhausted to go look for the blond haired girl who may or may not be named Lauren. And no, he hadn't found a shorter name for her yet.

He slowly got to this talon-like feet, making his way towards the sorce of the racket: his own door. He threw it open, quicker than usual for some odd reason. He expected to see Newt, Gaius, or maybe even Nita. He did not expect in any way, shape, or form, to find the blond-haired girl with pointed ears.

"...AH!" Marshall exclaimed happily, "ITS YOU!"

"AAH!"

It's quite a shocker for a door you'd assume to stay close to quickly slam open, and Sophie stumbled backwards, a hand on her chest to keep her heart from going into cardiac arrest. Honestly, what was it with people and making sudden movements? It got to be nerve-wracking after a while!

Shaking off her anxiousness with a weak laugh, she scratched the back of her neck, and responded. "Uhm...yeah...me. Look..." Her gaze trailed to his door, and it was only then that she realized that her note had fallen off of the door, likely never to be found again. She shook her head, then sighed, biting her lip as she looked back up to the penguin man.

"I'm really sorry that I made you mad the other day. I didn't know that they'd taken Sno Cone from you, really." She began to wring her hands out of nervousness, and she began to think this was a bad idea.

"Do you think, maybe, y'know...you could forgive me? I'm still a fan."

Marshall listened to her apology, and could honestly feel the arrows of guilt shooting through his chest. Oh. Great. She's a good person. Marshall you big jerk! Marshall thought.

"N-No...Look, it was kind of a shock but...I had no right to yell. I've been trying to apologize to you for the past few days. But umm...I never got your name. I'm sorry!" Marshall said, feeling as if this would be a good time to bow and beg.

Sophie blinked: yelling and ranting she'd be prepared for. Humility...not so much. "...My name's Sophie," she responded, still a bit confused as to why he had been trying to find her. He hadn't done anything wrong, after all...being angry like that was entirely understandable when it's something that he cared that much about.

"You were...looking for me?" Something about that put her at ease, and something about it made her think that she should check for traps outside her door. As much as she loved his comics, Sophie didn't hardly know anything about the man behind them.

"Y-Yeah! I even had Gaius looking for you. L-Like I said, I had no right to yell at you like that. It wasn't fair. To be honest, I was kind of mad at Gaius and stuff but that still doesn't make it right and um..." Marshall looked down at the ground, heaving a heavy sigh.

"Its nice to meet you, Sophie." Marshall said with a weak smile, holding out his flipper.

Once she had determined that Marshall wasn't mad at her, Sophie's anxious vibes multiplied into happy ones, and she took his hand with a smile growing across her face. "I'm so glad that you're not upset!" It was perhaps the first good thing that'd happened to her in days: thank God or whomever else might've sent this blessing that Marshall Green wasn't mad at her.

Instantly her mind thought of a million questions to ask, but Sophie repressed her inner fan girl, and seemed to calm down a bit as she took a step back, wiping her hair from her face. However, the calm soon turned into awkward silence, and she found herself unable to think of how to carry on the conversation.

"...So, are you and Gaius friends?" Sophie remembered that Nita had known the Pegasus-man, as had Richard...maybe he was an Island-celebrity or something. Either way, Gaius had caught her interest, and she was curious to know a little more about him.

"Yeah...He's, um, kind of like my big brother...He lives right there." He said, pointing over Sophie's shoulder to the duplex adjacent. "He's a nice guy, really...Though he's kind of been obsessed with his new project. He wants to build a Theater." Marshall explained with a strange beak smile.

Sophie peered over to where Marshall had pointed, then tried to make a mental note of it: she knew she was going to forget, but still wanted to at least make the attempt. However, the dazed look she'd been giving the duplex turned to one of interest when the penguin man mention Gaius's current project.

"A theater? As in plays and stuff?" Sophie found that the idea of performing on stage again was a rather pleasant one, despite the fact that only weeks ago she was ready to put her acting career behind her. She supposed that it was just the time away that was making her miss home.

Marshall nodded, "Yep! Its um...Kinda how I broke my arm. But there are a lot of people workin' on it! I think Billy- um, he's an octopus and he's kinda the boss of the project, he's looking for talent! I think its gonna be some sorta...Um...Variety Show? Maybe?" Marshall chuckled, not sure if it true or not.

"...An octopus?"

Sophie processed that little bit of information before the rest of whatever Marshall had said: something about the idea of a sushi-man intrigued her. But 'looking for talent' processed soon after, and the woman began to plot to herself.

"You wouldn't happen to know if any acting troupes have gotten together for the theater, have you? You know, something I could join?" Sophie turned and looked behind her, as if she expected to see the theater somewhere in the general vicinity, then directed her attention back to him, adding, "You see, I used to act, and I think it'd be something fun to do."

"Oh yeah! You mentioned some thing about voice-work!" Marshall said with a smile, "Well...Not that I know of. You could always start one, though. I'm sure there are plenty of other people who love to act!" Marshall said happily. It was like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders! Sophie, not Lauren, had forgiven him!

I'm so telling Gaius...
