There are a lot of good parents out there.
Just because I disagree with descisions that some parents make for their children doesn't make them bad parents. There are parents who disagree with how I rasie my children...

I don't know that I necessarily use my hands more than I should... just saying that I use them a LOT.

You should listen. They are!

Thanks. <3

Nana:
*giggles* Thanks Nana. <3
I should have thought of that. Writing during class. whee

That link took me so a sims site...
I've heard of Nanowrimo before, but I'm not sure what it is.

rofl In a manly sort of way eh?

Kenshin Belmont:
Welcome.

Hey Jen! I know there are good and bad parens out there and yer right, but I was thinking more along the lines of parents who leave their babies in their hot cars and don't remember to check on them.

Well Jen, I was half kidding, half serious on that one. How should I know if yer using yer hands more than you should, he-he. mrgreen

I do actually. I doubt I'm gonna get one but... you never know.

Oh and btw, Kenshin Belmont is my mule account. I finally made one! I wasn't sure what to name it so that's a big part of why I didn't make one before. I'm really glad nobody took that name! 3nodding

Yes! Fernand has done it once again! Now the true power of Kenshin Belmont can be felt all over the land, ha-ha! biggrin
Now I can have both my personality (HypnoCrown) and my special character (Kenshin Belmont) separate.
Now, if only I could have a decent signature in this account too... rolleyes

Kenshin Belmont-- xd Good one Hypno.

When I say notebook, I mean an actual paper one. I was in high school almost ten years ago now, so laptops were pretty expensive and I had no job. I actually re-typed everything onto my desktop computer which ran Windows 3.1. eek

Nanowrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month. You have to write a 50,000 word story starting on the first of November which must be completed by the last day of November.

Sorry for the link, I must've clicked on the wrong tab. blaugh Correct addy: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node

It's just a fun personal challenge, and encourages me to actually get to writing. I don't write that much anymore. And last month, right towards the end, I had a really strong dream that I thought would be an interesting element in a story, although it's actually become the story now.

He-he, thank you Nana! You can call me Fernand if you like.

Oh, I see... OMG! Windows 3.1? That's kinda old! I do remember it myself and I gotta tell ya, I learned about computers by studying MSDOS. Now that's as old as you can get! 3nodding Ha-ha! I still remember carrying those huge 5 inches floppy disks. And now we have these little USB things that can have up to 8 gb in size? My goodness! I wonder how many floppies I would have had to carry around to match that... mrgreen

I see... Sounds great! only 50k, huh? I think I have a story that has sort of that amount, I never really counted how many words were in it. rolleyes
It's ok, at least the link is fine now.

Cool! So yer dream became a story, huh? Awesome...

Gee, I wonder when the posting forms are going to be reinstated... I miss the random number and the think, whisper & shout ones too. 3nodding

Hypno:
I didn't realize that you'd chaged the subject of bad parenting from taking young children to movies that are too old for them to leaving children in their cars. sweatdrop

*giggles* I didn't know it was possible to use your hands too much.

I was guessing that was the case (since it's been a long time since I've had any new join requests), but I wasn't sure. I think pwned by Jenannen actually remembered to check the join requests today so you should be good. wink

Mules are fun! twisted

Nana:
Huh... interesting.
Yeah, I need to write more. Like I said though, I traded in that backpack of notebooks for diaper bag(s). rolleyes I've gone from characters and muses to little girls.

Ferdinan, he? Well you can call me Nina if you wish, but even my roomies (two of who have known me since before Gaia) call me Nana all the time in RL. Which is funny, because Nana is the nickname I gave my niece when she was little. xd

I learned how to work the computer as well using MS Dos. It's come in handy all kinds of ways, especially at work where the register is based off of an older windows operating system (but not 3.1 old.)

Yeah, 50k isn't so bad. It's forcing yourself to do it in the time limit when working with the bare bones of a story. blaugh A couple of times I've thought that I was done, I could go no farther, and then boom. I'm at 20,000, and have reached another peak hopefully that will carry me up to that 25k.

Don't worry Jen. Your girls are still young, so I can understand. One person participating (who also writes a lot of stories on my sims forum) is a stay at home mother to twin girls who are now four.

Jen:

Gee, and I thought I wasn't changing the subject about bad parenting, I mean, wouldn't you call a bad parent someone who neglects their kids?

He-he, maybe there is such a thing, who knows!? Nevertheless, I try not to use my hands too much, if there is such a thing... mrgreen

Cool! Thanks for including my mule account into the guild. It will make it easier to visit.
You know, I'm gonna try and see if I can get the gaiaized heart you made for me on the profile of my mule account. I bet it could look better there...

Nana:

Hmm, I gotta say I like Nina much better. And if you like to call me Ferdinan then so be it. It sounds kinda weird though, he-he... sweatdrop

I know what you mean, sometimes when the internet connection fails, the technicians tell us to check the IP configuration by typing: "ipconfig" on the DOS prompt. I even have a program on my Sony Vaio that makes the use of DOS based programs a lot easier. Some of the games I have don't work well on windows XP.

I see... Well, if it works, right? smile

Nana:
Kari call you Nana too?

Twins?! gonk gonk gonk
I'm sure glad that El's not a twin!
I even bought her a shirt that says:
"Just be glad I'm not a twin" xd

I do invest a lot of time in developing my D&D characters. *giggles*
That count for anything?

Hypno:
♫ There was something in the air that night, I would my friend Fernando... ♫

Yes, neglecting your children is definely bad parenting. 3nodding
At a point it even becomes abuse.

You're welcome. I have no problem with mules.

I never really learned DOS when I was younger my Dad didn't like to let me touch the computer. I'm older than Nana so it's not due to my age...
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 8:25 am

Ha-ha! Just be glad I'm not a twin, that's hilarious!

You know Jen, my mom actually named me cuz of that song. Her favorite band was Abba and she was crazy about that song. No wonder, huh? mrgreen You missed an "n" by the way, he-he, but it's ok.

Yeah, some people become parents when they shouldn't. rolleyes

Thanx! That's why I'm making this post with my mule account. wink

No? So I'm guessing yer dad is pretty strict, right? I wonder why he wouldn't let you use it. Did he ever teach you something on it? I wonder if I'm older than you (I'm 31)...

Yes, Kari calls me Nana too. It's pretty cute. All birthday and Christmas cards are addressed to "Nana <3" blaugh

Haha, that's a cute idea for a shirt. I would've loved something like that for my niece.

And yes, I think investing quality time in developing D&D characters counts. 3nodding Staying creative is the key. ^___^ (Life is so much more fun that way.)

Your dad Didn't let you touch the computer? Was it because of a fear that perhaps you might do something unhealthy for it? I know my sister would always mess around with our computer, and do something to it that would mean a command was missing or that windows wouldn't start. rolleyes I was actually the one who would end up fixing it because I knew it so well. (I actually named it Harry, and I knew all its file directories by heart. xd )

Sorry, Ferdinand, I have a disease that makes me bad at spelling and typing only exacerbates it. wink

The problem I had with later versions of windows is that the DOS prompt isn't really important anymore. It's now more of a program within Windows. XP I used to hate that, but of course, everything also got a lot more complicated. I'm not as familiar with this computer as I was with the older one, but I still take peeks through it's program files for anything out of place.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2007 10:56 am

Don't worry about it Nina! I am really lousy at typing and I make mistakes all the time. If it wasn't for google bar's spell check, my posts would be horrible!

Hmm, ain't that something? I guess we'll always see technology pass us by unless we do something about it. Man! I hate this keyboard! I wish we had an ergonomic one... rolleyes

Ferdinand:
Yeah, and it's a nice reminder sometimes.
I love El, but boy can she be crazy sometimes.

I know. You told me that before.
That's why I was singing that singing that song for you. *giggles*

And some people who make great parents can't have children of their own...
[sarcasm]What a wonderful world we live in eh?[/sarcasm]

Tha's fine.

Yeah, my dad is strict! We get along MUCH better now that i'm out of the house!
Nah, never taught me a lot on it except when I got older he taught me where I could store my homework files.

Oh, and yes, you are older than I am.

Nana:
That's fun!

*giggles* I know. I bought it at Wal-Mart not that long ago.

Yes, much more enjoyable!

I guess it was 'cause he was afraid I'd mess it up. *shrugs*
Computers are my dad's living though so... He's a software engineer.
That's awesome that you were the one fixing your computers. xd

Speaking of parents, a few weeks ago this tiny woman came into the gift shop with a little girl. We kind of talked, and I found out she had FIVE kids. eek I was shocked because she seemed so calm. Many time, I see parents who weren't prepared for their kids to be separate people, and so they're always angry and stressed out which of course stresses their kids out and makes them angry as well.

I'm glad you and your dad get along better now, Jen. How is your mother doing, by the way?

You know, Ferdinand, I have the newest version of Firefox, and it actually spell checks my posts as I type them. xd Of course, I've gotten used to ignoring the squiggly red lines.

At least technology isn't going as fast as it was for a while there. It seemed like every year, a new and better system would come out and the one you were using was obsolete. Unless you really knew computers well, I found it was hard to even install a computer game. xp
