Well, the last time I was in Blockbuster (which was to pick up Epic Battles cards), they had Metal Gear Solid 3 for $19.99. At that time, it was still $39.99 at Gamestop for another three months.

Lady Leonardo I've seen MAD overpricing at both Blockbuster (because they're evil) and places like EB. If for some bizarre reason you ever get the urge to buy one of those Outlaw Golf mini games, don't do it at EB! They sell the damn things for $6 used when at Blockbuster it was $3 NEW. It's a freakin' mini game! *flails* But otherwise their prices seem okay. *L* And I do try to stay away from buying things at Blockbuster if I can help it. Have you ever heard of Rhyno Games? Apparently it's a division of Blockbuster, but it's its own store that only caters to games. There's one near me. I haven't been to it, but plan on checking it out sometime.

If I go to Seattle. But it doesn't matter anyway, since Gamestop owns EB.

Apparently, they just kept the EB name for that store, because there are many people who refuse to shop at Gamestop but go to EB instead... despite the fact that I heard that they were practically identical in business and pricing before the buyout, even.

Yeah, a lot of people grew up with places like EB and Babbages. Perhaps they're still loyal to them. *shrugs*

S-X- Dual Personalities I never even heard of Babbages until I saw it on a Gamestop application. Babbages has been around for like a good 15 (or maybe even more) years. They're affiliated with GameStop (and 2 other stores owned by the same company) and sometimes the GameStop brand takes over a Babbages. So, the GameStops you might have gone to, might have previously been Babbages.

Nah. One used to be a Funcoland, one a Software Etc., and the one I temporarily (I stress that word) worked at was just built a bit over a year ago. I don't think there's ever been a Babbages around here.

Well, it's owned (or was owned, I forget) by Barnes & Nobles (another store which doesn't exist in this area), and is a fusion of Babbages, Funco (which used to be a mail-order only store... I remember getting cheap NES and Genesis games through them), Software Etc., and merged with EB. There's also apparently a "Moviestop" in the southeast America, despite the fact that most Gamestops (at least here) carry a lot of movies in and of themselves (maybe because GS had too many movies?)
