Keme slowly stands up, his bag of cd's in one hand, not really paying attention that Relm had her hand on his elbow just yet. When he does, he blinks and groans to himself, knowing he won't be able to get away just yet if she has a grip on him. Maybe when they got close to her and Rikku's home, she would let go and he could go off to be alone.

Miranda blushes lightly at Relm's words, but just gives a small smile as she hops up out her seat, grabbing her back containing her cookbook.

Naruto shivers a little bit when Rikku keeps touching his leg, that hot feeling coming back full force and all he wants to do is drag Rikku off and kiss her senseless. But he refrains and stands up, looking to Rikku to see who would have to exchange money.

Kaleb smiled, pleased to think his shield had earned him an icecream cone. Then he nodded at Relm's request, being a little surprised at hearing a familiar spell name. Shell had been one of his basic spells as a white mage.

He began channeling the energy for six strong protective shields, taking it slowly so he wouldn't overheat and burn from handling that much energy at once. "This Thick Skin shield will protect from most physical damage," he said, weaving the energy into a shield around each of them, tangible for only an instant before appearing to vanish against their fur.

The scrawny mage only realized he had been close to exaustion when he felt a familiar burning sensation work it's way through his body. He tried not to wince, knowing his delightfully cold icecream wouldn't be able to soothe this burn. If Miranda noticed the hot flush across his nose and reached out to him at that moment, she would definitely notice his unusually high temeperature.

The thief comes along willingly, happy to lead the way again. She too is impressed with Kaleb's spell, but being accustomed to Wall it is not a new sight. She does not notice the white mage's difficulty afterward, nor would she expect it with the different ways of magic. The perky Al Bhed was happy enough to see the pairing up; even if it was only for a moment.

Beside Keme, Relm can not help but feel his sigh. It pains her, not only because she does not like to see anyone in pain (though she has no qualms at making others squirm uncomfortably) but because she feels they share a special bond... even in such a short time. The artist had a feeling she knew what he wanted to do... & what he did not want to do. But how to broach that. "Hummer... Keme... don't run out. Please? You may not think it... but now's the time you need your friends." There was a note of pleading that was not an act in her voice & her light green eyes were concerned & troubled. "Please... trust me on this."

Naruto swings Rikkus hand a bit as they walk together. Even though the ending was almost ruined, he was glad they all came together to the city. He hoped he and Rikku would get some time alone before they all had to part ways. He looks over his shoulder at Keme and he can feel his heart break a little for him.

"Ok...but if you need me, I'm here." she says gently, giving him a reassuring smile as she walks beside him, clutching her bag in both hands.

Keme doesn't look to her, but he does hear her words. 'Maybe she's right? I don't know...I just want to be alone...' he thinks to himself, head still looking down, both ears drooped and partially covering his eyes. He still refuses to hum his song.

"Thanks, Miranda," Kaleb replied, hoping she knew the offer went both ways but a little too nervous to actually say that out loud.

The mage finally got down to crunching at the icecream cone once the sharp burning in his chest had died down somewhat, but then he glanced back at Miranda. "When we get back to the shop, you'll be walking home with Keme and Naruto?" He asked, just making sure she wouldn't be walking alone in the dark.

((I'm a re-re... I forgot I was the next to post... *sheepish* ))

"Do you have a time you have to be home, 'Ruto?" Rikku asks softly with a purr. Her tail swishes to brush his leg.

Relm blinks at the apology. "Espers' sake, Hummer! Whatever are you sorry for? You shouldn't have to apologise because we care about you."

Naruto taps his chin with his free hand, thinking and he then smiles and shakes his head, "No, not really, as long as I'm not out too, too late or I will stay at the shop where Moochi can find me! Why, did you wanna go somewhere?" he asks, looking to her.

Miranda blushes lightly when Kaleb asks, but she smiles over at Kaleb and nods, "Yea, I would like that, thank you Kaleb." she says quietly.

Keme looks away, deciding it was best not to speak since all it did was upset Relm. His tail slowly drags behind him.

Kaleb grinned lopsidedly, "I'm glad, I would be worried if you were out walking home on your own." Sure, the scrawny kid didn't look like much, but there wasn't a thug out there on the streets that could so much as touch him if he had time to prepare.
