"Hey!"

One of the men at the side of the group attempted to tackle her as she broke cover.

She took just enough time to give a salute to Hakan before contining on. Far as she knew Flare was the leader of this group. Obviously sticking around her seemed to be the best plan.

Due to her lateness, she would come behind Flare, a bit to the left. With a very quick pace going on here. At least until she saw a man make a move on Flare.

Move forward a bit and lunge at the guy as he lunged at Flare, a nice punch going for the face. A bit more intereasting as any punch she gave would be like getting punched with a taser.

One archer took a bullet to the eye and fell backwards, the others made sure there was a steady stream of arrows flying at the UGH troops. One took extra carful aim and let an arrow loose just as he saw one dart out from behind the ruins.

The bishops were less lucky, one taking so much fire that they liquified, sending the orb careening into some ruins but nowhere near the miners. The second let the ball go just as a bullet hit his leg. The shade fell down to the wall, while the orb flew off to explode next to the advancing group.

"CHARGE!" The armoured shade yelled, swinging his Axe in the air. The shades with swords lined up beside him, sheilds forward as they charged. Once they got into melee range they would attack. The spearmen stayed behind the first rank as they charged, considering the added range of their weapons.

The next five pawns rushed to the gate and began to form weapons.

As Fourteen cleared the horizon leading up over land, his scope peered straight down the empty 'street'. The parapets of the fortress were trained on the UGH as they exchanged fire. The grenadier having gotten up to launch a grenade up against the wall right before the crowd, letting the explosion to the work before he was riddled with arrows.

Fourteen trained his sights on the open doorway of the fortress, about to shoot the armoured shade, apparently the commander, until he saw Flare charge out from the side. However, before he could take a shot at her, one of the goons had jumped out at her. His instincts were already assessing what to shoot at, every little detail on the battlefield, ready to react to the slightest of movements.

But just then...

The hypervelocity discharged its metal slug at his head.

((I would have just sniped from the Lake, since the hypervelocity supposedly travels at supersonic speeds. But Josh said he'd prefer if I was shooting within a thread.))

(...uh, weren't you supposed to avoid killing PCs until they'd threatened your life?)

Having lunged at the guy so she was a tad closer then comfort allowed.

She stumbled hard before catching herself with a hand, probably scraping off a large amount of skin and screaming random obscene things, before basically bounding forward on all fours for a moment.

So yeah...she got there, a good bit singed and bleeding from some scratched areas, joy.

Oh for crying out-

For his troubles, the guy was rewarded with a gout of flame. Point blank, twice the strength of her usual fires. If that didn't kill him, something was very, very wrong with the world, and Flare would have to check that this wasn't one of those dreams where she was running around in nothing but her underwear in the middle of fierce battle.

...though, with the state her clothing was in after having been burnt so badly, she may as well have been.

So after she released the fire she'd charged for two rounds previous, Flare FINALLY made it to the fortress. Please.

After shaking toasty remnants of dead guy off her leg.

Hakan would have been his by the sniper, but he got lucky.

The misaimed ball of evergy the bishop had shot happened to crash into a ruin near Hakan, just before the shot was fire. The shot was not only deflected upwards some by hitting flying debree, but the impact itself made Hakan drop low, rolling quickly to cover.

The arrow that the shade archer hadmisaimed went right over him, cutting into his shirt a little.

"...ok, I didn't want this much attention, dammit!"

Seeing all the people approaching him, Hakan started looking around. He needed to find someplace he'd be safe, or else he was totally screwed. And he had to wonder, why exactly had he decided to do this noble s**t again?

Oh, right. Flare was hot. That was it.
