I think you're only allowed 5 if you mutate them all. Like if you make flying gaunts, carnies with better BS, etc. Its something in the back of the codex with mutable fleets.
I think thats 12 species if yopu mutate them.

Maybe its a conspiricay... whenever you try to prove a point, the information on that in the codex 'disappears'...

i thnik what you read only has to do with fleet mutation, number of species has to do with how many mutants you can have and so on.

Its the one with the Brettonian Questing Knig-hts sallying forth on the cover.

Anyway, you can take Strangler and Impaler broods, and/or upgrade a certain percentage of your Gaunts to carry spike rifles or stranglewebs.

Off subject for the moment, I'm new to 'Nids and I was wondering what I should buy next. I so far have the bug half of the Macragge starter(split with my friend) a Biovore, and a Lictor.

Hmm...I'd say some Gaunts. Lots o' Gaunts. Doesn't matter between Termiguants or Hormagaunts, just more gaunts. biggrin
