**Cooks up a shot of espresso**
Anybody else want to chime in on the new topic? Me, I think that after a year, we all know that bringing Hal back was pointless, and a needless destruction of canon. Hal's character is no more interesting than it was before the death of Superman, and the Green Lantern mythos as a whole is no better off. Its probably worse off with all the confusing yellow fear bullshit theyve thrown in.
They shouldve just put some good talent on Kyle's book, and made him a member of the JLA again. Damn you Johns. 3nodding

Well, it goes like this:
After the Reality mini-series, Rich got recalled back to Xanadar, home of the Nova Corps. The Corps were preparing to fight the Annihilation Wave, an armada from the Negative Zone. Before the Corps could get in positions throughout the universe, the Annihilation Wave hit Xandar like a category 5 hurricane and took out the entire Corps, minus Rich, who survived thanks to his powers and instincts.
Four days later, Rich was contacted by the Xandarian Worldmind, which controlled Xandar and the Nova Corps. The Worldmind wanted Rich to come to it's central core, but Rich wanted to avenge the Corps whose corpses where being eaten by the insectoid soldiers of the Wave. The soldiers were too powerful, so Rich relented and went to the Worldmind. The Worldmind downloaded into Richand the entire Nova Force also was transferred into him, making tremendously powerful. (The last person who had all the Nova Force in them was so strong, the Avengers couldn't beat him, if that gives you an idea.) Rich, who also got a new costume to help him control his powers, shot off after the Annihilation Wave and began blowing up ship after ship, angry at the deaths of everyone on Xandar, many of whom had been revived by Rich years earlier. He then lost control, exploded, and fell back to Xandar.
When he recovered, he found himself in the company of Drax the Destroyer, who had changed his appearance and his young freind Cammi. Rich, Drax and Cammi searched for a ship and a way past the Annihilation Wave. they found one that hadn't been destroyed, they took off, and Rich made a stargate and went through it before the Wave shot them down. They jumped to Nycos Aristedes, an Aakonian colony world nine light years away. (Another bitter irony, as the Aakonians tried to kill everone on Earth, and were stopped by Rich, who used his energy absorption powers on an enormous scale to destroy the Deathstorm, an Aakonian planet-killer.) There they met Quasar, who was helping evacuate the colonists. Rich, who whose confidence was shot after the events on Xandar, was reluctant to also help. However, he didn't have much of choice when The Annihilation Wave hit Nycos Aristedes mere hours after Rich got there. He engaged the wave with Quasar and made another staragate. The gate was big enough that the colonists could get to safety much faster than they could have alone. Annihilus detected the stargate in orbit around Xandar and jumped to Nycos Aristedes to see it up close.
The last issue of his mini will be out in a few weeks, but I'm guessing that Quasar and Nova will fight Annihilus, Quasar will die, Nycos Aristedes will be saved, but Rich, feeling guilty about Quasar's death, will allow himself to be trained by Drax for 2-3 months. Andy Schmidt, the editor for Annihilation, said Rich will be in the Return of the Jedi phase of his story in the main Annihilation mini-series, much more skilled, controlled, and capable.
