Raine landed on her feet after performing the kick, allowing them to drop to the ground after they had successfully hit him and sent him flying to the floor.
She pulled her upper-body up and sat there in a crouched position, her right palm on the floor for balance and her left hand in front of her in a fist.
She had expected him to retaliate.

So boy was it a shock to her when he..Acted as he did.
Her eyes widened and a look of complete confusement crossed her face. Then amusement, then confusement again. She didn't have any idea what to think of this character. He was probably the most amusing person she had ever fought.

He looked strange, running around pushing that danged briefcase everywhere. He was actually enjoying himself, even after getting kicked to the ground. She certainly had not expected this in the slightest. If she were the type of person to laugh, she most certainly would have bellowed out in intense laughter.

But, her serious nature would not allow that sort of thing.

As soon as he turned and started..Running/scooting towards her, she attacked. After all, as funny as that was, this was still a battle. She would still treat it as such and take advantage of anything she could.

Raine might be known as sort of a gymnastic person. She was extremely talented in that sort of thing, which she would show him in a few seconds.

Abrubtly, as he was coming towards her, Raine took a few running steps forward towards him. She then bent down and placed her hands on the ground and flipped her legs high into the air and over her body, performing a perfect front handspring which would launch her body forward slightly. She was close enough to him that upon doing this, she would slam her feet down on his shoulders with such a force it would most certainly break something or pull something out of place. After all, when you land in a front handspring you are placing all your body weight onto where you are going to land, and if you factor gravity into all of that, it's going to hurt. A lot.

Since he was scootching straight into this attack, and this attack was done in very little time, it was doubtful he could dodge something like this.

A thing about gravity... it makes things take JUST as long coming down as they do going up. If she were to do a handspring with quite a bit of height to it, it would have to arc, and coming down from that arc is what would bring the power to it. If she, instead, were doing more of a straight out handspring, it would be able to get off much faster, as was her intent, but would have little more force than if she had just run into him.

However, no matter which type she had decided to do, there was still the matter of the arc... and when Tommy got that close to her, even if she hadn't performed the handspring, he would have turned his sliding into a low run by pushing off from the floor and pulling the briefcase up against his chest. This would increase his running speed at that moment, which would screw up Raine's timing a little bit.

With the handspring, this more or less left an opening.

An opening where?

Well, when she was coming up in the handspring, he would have more or less dived forwards and slammed the edge of the briefcase into the small of her back.

Things like that tend to ruin perfectly coordinated acrobatic maneuvers.

Depending on how she took the fall, either she would fall to the side, flat on her back, or flip over and end up on her face where she was, with Tommy falling over on top of her.

Well crap, that didn't work well.
The freakin' Tommy crashed into her lower back, her tumbling over with him on top of her to her left side.
Muffled and barely coherent, she yelled..

Mfhmm..Get..Mhmm..Off!

With these words, and the help of her arms and legs, she would abrubtly throw him off of her, pushing him away by pushing on him with her arms and legs.

She stood up, brushing some more dirt off her clothing.
Dang Gym floors and their dirt..

She blinked, the Tommy now being on the floor. If what she did was successful anyways. Though it was pretty certain she would have enough force to throw him off.
She blinked and stood there, taking a breather and giving the Tommy time to get up and such.

She abrubtly raised her right fist in her face, a little across from the tip of her chin.
Her left fist was down by her waist. This was a normal Judo stance, in which she used primarily for defense.

She waited for him to advance if he weren't doing so already, since she seemed to be better at defense than offense.

Tommy would get up just as quickly as Raine would, and, well, they'd be back where they started.

"Aw haw haw 's a lil' bit o' the ruff stuff, innit, oi?" he said, laughing.

Instead of a real stance, Tommy slid his right foot back a little and held up his left hand... the briefcase was still chained to his wrist and the handle was still held in his fist, but with a twist of the wrist he flipped the thing to the side and ended up with the bulk of the briefcase sitting atop the back of his forearm.

"Ho-kay thar then, miss'n!"

Raine sighed, her eyes trailing to the ground and her arms hanging at her sides. Her eyes were shadowed over by her bangs.

She spoke to him in a crsip, yet annoyed sounding tone.

"You know, you're incredibly hard to understand."

It was a habit of hers to state the obvious. She once again resumed her stance, her eyes scanning the current situation. Her eyes suddenly stopped scanning and simply stared towards him.
She wasn't really looking at him, she was not focusing her eyes on anything. Rather, she was using her peripheral vision to take in the entire scene.

She charged at him once more with no warning, her footsteps steady and never faltering. She didn't really have far to go, so she was pretty much there in about a second. Her right hand shot out towards his face, another simple blow, this one aiming for his left eye. There wasn't a lot of force put into it..In fact, it was so gentle it would barely cause any damage at all. The thing was, she never had any intentions of actually making contact. But how was he to know that?

The fist would shoot for his face at a high rate of speed, almost happening within a matter of seconds.
But right at the last second, she would abrubtly pull back on the fist. It would be made quite clear right then that what it was, was a feint.
But the natural reaction someone would have would be to react to that fist, so he would most likely be unprepared for what she was going to do at the same time she pulled back.

Her left fist shot out towards his chest, though I guess it wasn't really a fist anymore. Her left hand was open, fingers curled forward and in a protected position with her palm exposed. She palm-thrusted him smack in the chest as soon as she pulled back on her right fist. The palm-thrust did indeed hold a lot of power, but probably not enough to stop the heart. Just do some damage and hurt a lot, if it was successful.

At the same time as the palm-thrust, she, as stated before, would be pulling back with her right hand. She would abrubtly pull her entire right arm behind her back, letting it rest there for some odd reason. This was all done in a matter of seconds.

(( I think you worded that wrong. xd A few seconds for a punch? Slooooow~. @___@ ))

The problem with all of that being, Tommy's left arm was extended between them. If she attaked with her right, he would simply move his left slightly so that her feint punch struck the flat of the briefcase at an angle and completely missed... not that it mattered much, as she would pull it back anyways - albiet perhaps with some sore knuckles.

When she began to approach, Tommy had raised his right arm slightly; rather than it hanging loosely at his side, it was up near his hip and ready to move, though not in stance. From the way she was attacking he had already planned his action before she had gotten close, and when she attacked with her right fist he was already stepping in against her with his right foot.

Her second attack wasn't ready, it wouldn't be performed until she pulled back with her right. However, as soon as she got close enough to throw that feint he thrust out with his right hand, not in a strike, but to grab a fistfull of the collar of her shirt. As soon as he had it, he yanked her forewards, and... well... they met face to face.

Her palm strike wouldn't have much chance of succeeding, seeing as how they were now so close. She wouldn't have much chance of performing any thrust-type attack with that arm as they were, either, as with his grip upon her shirt his elbow was out in front of her bicep, and to move her arm up and in for a body-blow she would have to push past it, which would greatly deminish the power even if the obstacle in her range of motion could be circumvented.

((Huh, I guess that never even crossed my mind. o.o;; I just type without really thinking sometimes..))

Well, another plan of her had been foiled. Good thing she expected it. Which was why she already had another plan in mind.
But, she hadn't expected him to grab her collar and pull her forward. Ah well, she still had a free right arm that could do some serious damage. As soon as he pulled her closer she instinctively reacted, her right arm coming from around behind her back. It raised in an arc and shot towards his left ear in a powerful thrust.

His left hand would currently be lower down, and it was doubtful he'd be able to raise it in time. His own right hand was currently gripping her shirt, so there'd not be enough time to stop it with that hand either.

Anyways, her right fist shot up, enough power implanted in it to probably knock him flat. She might go down with him though, since he's holding onto her collar. Either way, something bad's gonna happen.

Tommy had never lowered his left arm. While he had pulled her in past the reach of it, what was left was that his arm was over her right shoulder; perhaps it had been drawn back a little or moved outwards slightly to accomodate when he had dragged her in, but it had never dropped... if anything, it had raised.

Because of this, an attempt to wail on his ear could be thwarted with a simple bend of the elbow to catch her forearm before it got there.

Tommy didn't really do anything this round, though. He was too busy staring in JAWDROPPING AWE at the way that Sith sat on a weight bench. OH MY GOD!

Edit: (( This is, of course, assuming similar heights with the two. If Raine is a very tall woman, then it'd be different. ))

((...>_> I'm an idiot. I completely missed that too. I'll pay more attention from now on..o.o;;

||EDIT|| She's 5'8. o.o ))

Raine hadn't been paying much attention to where his arm currently was, so she hadn't noticed that he would easily stop her attack. Huh, she should pay more attention.

Anyways, Raine was obviously in a bad position. The Tommy though didn't seem like all his attention was currently focused on what they were doing. He was staring at...Somethin' else I guess.
Raine didn't exactly wanna stand there forever. Anyways, so it seemed like anytime she tried to punch it just got countered. That was really getting annoying. So, if she can't use her arms all that well against this thing, then what else is left?
Obviously the legs.

She was rather mad now, getting angry that anything she tried didn't work. Her teeth gritted, her eyes cast downwards staring at nothing.
Anger became purely visible upon her, not that the Tommy was even paying enough attention to notice that.
Her right foot slid forward slightly for some reason.

Suddenly, in no time at all, her left knee shot up in a clean blow to his abdomen. Hopefully, though she doubted it, but hopefully this would work, since his left arm was raised already. She wasn't sure he could bring that briefcase down in time to block.
This action would probably knock the wind out of him and cause him to let go and maybe even fall backwards. If it worked.

The amazing "sit-down" was followed shortly by an even MORE amazing look around. Jesus Christ. It's amazing. His head TURNED! He should be a SAINT!

The knee made Tommy pull away slightly, but it didn't quite knock the wind out of him, as she had hoped.

Instead of letting go, however, Tommy just twisted his grip a little tighter and- while he had drawn back slightly from her kick, that had simply made room to give him a 'running start'.

WHUD.

The thing was though, Raine had never dropped her knee from her successful attempt at smashing it into his abdomen. And as should be recalled from her last action, her right foot had slid forward slightly.

This gave her the perfect advantage to counter..Er..Rather move out of the way of his attack. So anyways, he might be surprised when performing this 'face-butt' to her when he realized what she would do to get out of it.

Raine had grown tired of standing there. She knew something had to be done..She had to break out of his grip. So, as soon as the man took his running start towards her, her left knee would simply raise a little higher, making contact with his stomach. Abrubtly, Raine pushed off the floor with her right foot that was slid forward, throwing her entire body weight backwards. The Tommy would most likely go with her since he had built up his momentum. But her knee would be braced against his stomach.

So, what would happen is they were both going to fall over. Raine would fall backwards and for the Tommy, he would fall forward. As her back would just begin to touch the ground, Raine would abrubtly brace her hands against his shoulders. Immediately after, she would thrust her knee towards her face while pushing him up and backwards with her hands, basically throwing him over her and onto the floor behind her.

It wasn't all that hard to do, since she had the force of three limbs pushing him off of her and her knee carrying him in the desired direction.

If this should be successful, Raine would simply stand up, back away a few steps and prepare a defensive stance.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 11, 2006 9:56 pm

The 'running start' was far from that. It was simply the small amount of distance, inches really, that had been put between them as a result of her strike. A more accurate word would have been 'the windup'.

Regardless, if she decided to roll backwards, he'd let her. She couldn't really go anywhere since he had her about three inches from his face with theat grip on her collar. So she fell back, and he fell back with her. But his left hand was still out, and it slammed palm-down onto the ground above her head when she fell.

With the momentum of the fall and his own weight behind it now, Tommy gladly accepted the knee pressed into his stomach, and returned it by driving his forehead right into hers... as per his apparent style. The difference being, with all that added force, she still had nowhere to go, as it'd crack the back of her head harshly against the mat.

Nowhere to go but sideways.

Raine had the advantage of him being balanced on her knee. And just because Raine couldn't toss him over her head, didn't mean that she would throw him different directions.
In fact, as soon as he smacked his palm down to stop her from tossing him overboard, she already moved into a different position, pretty much ensuring his little incident with colliding their foreheads with each other would be avoided.

What Raine did, was abrubtly shift all her weight to her left side, her hands still braced against his shoulders. Swiftly, she would simply roll over onto her left side, tossing him to her left while turning over.
He wouldn't not be able to fall, since he was balanced on her knee and she was basically moving her knee that direction and tossing him that way. Plus, the action of turning her body sideways would ensure that he would miss with his head strike because his body is being flung away from her head.

He would almost certainly be flung to her side, even if his grip on her collar was still intact.

Almost immediately, Raine's right leg pulled back behind her, the bottom of her boot facing him. In a hard thrust, Raine would abrubtly kick towards him while they were laying on the floor, him being at her side and all.
The kick was aimed directly for his stomach. Even if the kick didn't make contact with as much force as she intended, she would still press her foot firmly against his stomach and push forward with her leg while pulling back on her upper body, this action making certain that he would have to let go of her collar since his lower body would be going a different direction and his upper body would be still trying to hang onto her collar.
