Asuma dies, after smoking his last cigarette.
Kurenai is shown on the last page, looking out the window.
Now for something else I thought was worth mentioning..
Asuma: Ino.. you’re really spirited.. but you’re really responsible.. Chouji and Shikamaru.. are both pretty inept.. so watch over them..
Ino: ..Yeah..
Asuma: And.. don’t you lose to Sakura.. in ninjutsu or in love..
Ino: Yeah!..
Ugh. You guys remember that talk Shikamaru and Asuma had earlier about pawns and the 'king'? Asuma tells Shikamaru who the 'king' is, but he whispers it, so we're still left in the dark. Shikamaru's quite surprised, though.
And in a flashback, Asuma is buying flowers for 'someone.'
Ino: Who are those for?
Asuma: Oh, nobody in particular…
Ino: Say hi to Kurenai-sensei for me!
Asuma: Wh…why!?
Also in this chapter.. Shikamaru smokes.

omg thats what happend. thanks for telling me Kairi.nin. i already thought asuma was gonna die but like its kinda cool to think now shikamaru is smoking like asuma xd i feel sad though that hes gone. he was a good character. and im wondering what asuma said to ino about love...hmmm something is gonna happen soon i can feel it lol. anyway it was cute when asuma went to buy flowers and it was for kurenai. ino is good at guessing at it 3nodding cant wait to read it!

I started to BAWL MY EYES OUT after reading the translations. Poor Asuma-san...HE was such a good character! crying Looks like Shikamaru picked up on that bad habit. Tsk Tsk! -wags finger-
That chapter makes we want to start an anti-Hindan clique, but I wont -nod-

Interesting he would say that. Especially since the only person Ino seems to be interested in at the moment is Sai...
I'm just glad I haven't seen any "omg, Ino loves Sasuke see!" Sakura herself, after all, promised the same thing to Ino.

I sure hope that Sakura doesn't lose to Ino...
I mean, Ino can use medical ninjutsu? Seeing that made me a bit pissy, because Sakura's "specialness" sort of wavered for me. sad Hopefully it's just a simple technique that's required for emergencies.
If not, Kishimoto's going to have a visitor... ninja
I'm a bit disappointed that Asuma died so quickly, especially with all that anticipation from knowing it was going to happen. :sigh: But... he died. And I'm sad. Because he was cool. And yeah...
On a lighter note, seeing Shikamaru light that cig was a bit hawt.

finally i read the chapter and im still sad of what happened to asuma. i agree with you C r a y o l a of how like ino can use like medical ninjutsu. i was kinda like 'but thats sakuras special...' i bet is like for emergencies that they could do and like you dont have to be a ned to do it.
anyway asuma should have been in the manga longer he was a cool character...well i bet kishimoto wanted it to happen for a reason maybe....still in the end it was cool that shikamaru was smoking. hes picking up the habit *tsk tsk* shikamaru i thought you knew better xd

Well, it could all be in Tsuande's intention. I remember her talking about the significance of having a medic nin on every team. Typical that Kishimoto would target the girls, but eh- how else would he develop them, right? sweatdrop Overall, however, I don't think Ino is a serious medic nin. She probably knows the basics, but focuses more on her own mind jutsu. Sakura on the other hand has been preluded to be one of the more greater medic nins.

My take on 328:
Yeah, Asuma died. I kinda knew it, but I didn't want to believe it till the very end. Poor Team 10! And poor Kure-chan when she finds out! *cries with them*
Theory! Er... x4!
1) That "king" might be Naruto. Since Asuma can relate to Naruto, being the only one besides him to be a Wind type. And Asuma knows about Naruto's desire to become Hokage, I suppose he wants for Naruto to see his dream through, too.
2) Ino being a medic nin is kinda like Boss-chan said - it's what Tsunade prescribed for all teams to have, having seen the problems of their lack herself. It takes Sakura's "special-ness", sure, but it's a terrific strategy. But it's been foreshadowed by Kakashi in the chapter where they first train after 2.5 years that Sakura might grow to be even greater than Tsunade - meaning, greater than all the kunoichi in the village, including Ino. Though I'm particularly fond of Ino a bit, I just don't want to see her pwning Sakura, who I like more.
3) Kure-chan is preggerz. I'm really quite keen on that. Why else would she be home sitting pretty when most nins are on special alert?
4) The Leader will be seen a few more times in the succeeding chappies, I think.
I don't really like making theories much, except when a chapter provokes so much thought. Like this one.

Boring.. again.. no.. even the Akatsuki didn't excite me.
I really hope what Kakashi/Naruto found out has something to do with getting the training over with faster..
The Akatsuki's main goal is to conquer the world. Big surprise there. I expected that, but now that it's out in the open.. they don't impress me that much anymore.
Ugh. Sakuraaaaaa. Where are yoooouu?
And there will be NO Naruto manga next week. Wonderful.
