the only goal i ever had was 10, and i have that. i don't want big holes in my ears (though all the cool plugs start at 0 dammit) but i wanted a little bit of chunk to my jewelry so 10g is good for me. i'd consider 8 in the future but i'm not sure any farther, but never say never.

You'll get sucked into 4" lobes soon enough [NUTs] lmao rofl
@~More Than Cherries~: 00g is a nice size. So that's 2 more mm you want to get to, right?
I bought some 15/16" plugs to have and aim for. XD Opalite is so pretty. Waiting for them in the mail now. I kind of like buying the jewelry beforehand and aiming to be able to get it in. I have 3/4" to try next (stone, but looks kinda like wood). I think lots of other people do this too?

Yeah, I do that too min.
Helps you get a grasp on how much you're stretching, too.

mintarden @~More Than Cherries~: 00g is a nice size. So that's 2 more mm you want to get to, right? Yeah, but I may end up going larger in the future...nothing too big though.. I like plugs big, but not massive. Well, massive ones look good on some people, but I don't want them myself.

This is the first time I've bought the jewelry beforehand. Usually I just make myself wait in the hopes of buying the new size when my lobes are ready. But the stuff I found was so cheap, I couldn't help but buy it. xp $5 for a gorilla glass claw is my kind of deal. I bought 5. xd

Everytime I manage to move up a size, I'm disappointed later that it doesn't look bigger. lol So I end up going larger and larger. I guess I can't grasp how much I'm stretching at all. sweatdrop
Big plugs can have nicer details. Like the galaxy ones or something.
And cheap jewelry is a drug. lol! Good deals are sweet, but sometimes you just get all into it and wind up with junk. ._. But good deals are sweet. XD And that's what counts.

I do that! xd
When I started stretching I wanted to be at 8mm because that looked really big, now I'm at 10mm and it feels small. >.<
I've been eyeing up some cool 16mm tunnels so that may be my final size.

The most I've ever done for stretching was 18g to 14g on my first lobes. I'm almost a stretching virgin!

I started stretching my ears nearly a year ago. I guess I decided to because in my school, it had never been done before and I wanted to do something different. I didn't really know what tapers were until My ears were at 4g..And it really hurt cause half way through they got infected and my dad convinced me that it would be okay to stretch them if he did it quickly sweatdrop Silly me. Umm I think it took about three months to stretch them and they're now 0g...I would have them bigger..But my mum won't let me xp

I brought a 8g taper, and I think I rushed the process a little.
My dad found out about it and went crazy and stole one of the elasticated rings from it.
I have a tunnel thats a little bigger.
Anyway, my right ear is still a bit scabby, and it's been about two weeks since I took it out.
It bleeds occasionally. I think I may have torn it?
I reallyreally want to stretch it back. But I think I've hurt it, and are there any clear "invisible" tapers or tunnels I can wear so my dad won't notice?

Let it heal up a little bit before you stretch it again. And this time, take it slowly. As for clear tapers... I'm sure you could find some online if you think your dad won't notice.

What size did you start at with the 8g taper? If you went from something tiny (say 14g) to 8g in one sitting you definitely rushed and you'll have torn your ear.
If you want to heal with minimal scar tissue it would be best to downsize and let your ear heal. Scar tissue will cause problems in the future.
Is there a ridge around the back of the hole?
You can buy clear tunnels online (bodyartforms.com/bodyjewelleryshop.com) but I'd suggest buying clear glass. Acrylic shouldn't be worn in fresh stretches as it is porous; and you shouldn't wear clear (or any) taper for longer than the stretching process (a few minutes) because it's causing strain and unwanted pressure on your ear; and can get caught easily.
Buy jewellery in a size that you know will fit; rather than a large size, and take stretches gradually - wait in between stretches until your ear is ready. If there is resistance, stop.
I hope your ear feels better soon.
