Haha, a couple days ago we had sectionals in band, and since I REALLY didn't want to do flute sectionals (I already have mandatory ones once a week, and it drives me crazy) I hid my flute and went off and had a sectional with the three saxes. XD All of them were guys, too, so I was the only girl. It was... interesting. We mostly played pep band stuff since I don't play concert stuff on sax, and since all of us know our pep band folder, we basically got nothing done. I've found that the sax players are the only people who can get absolutely nothing done, but they get it done productively. XDD

I thought it was fun though. Except for the fact that I was new and barely nknew them! sweatdrop

I have of story!! :waves hands up and down:
Today, I had band class and there is this Child named Paul. He is in my grade and he plays the sax. I thought he was slow because he believed there is a light in the saxophone. Anyways, He doesn't know what the forte and piano, accents and creschendos*, etc. are. So he stinks. I try to help him but he is stubborn and plays extremely loud because he, well I believe, is slow. Now,, he wants to join Marching Band. I can barely stand him. Oh well, I can ignore him. He's going to make us sound bad, we have a small band. Maybe my teacher will persuade him not to join... rolleyes

I play mainly alto sax (although I have played all of them at one time or another), and I have for five years, but I also played clarinet for four years before that, so I have been in bands for just over half my life. 3nodding
It's so great to see so many other sax players - I am just in heaven whee

blizzardmist7878 even though i play bartione i always play tenor parts its fun but now since im the only baritone half the tenors play my part this year ^_^ I know how you feel, except mine was a bass clarinet. She was supposed to be a good friend but last year she started aggrevating me because she thought was better than anyone just because she could play four instruments: clarinet, alto clarinet, bass clarinet and flute. She started calling people idiots this year because they weren't as good as she was.

This is my 6th year playing the alto saxophone. I love playing it, but I need a new instrument. My director knows someone that will let me bring home a brand new Selmer Omega for a week. Does anyone know how good they are?

I can sort of be considered a saxophone player now. I'm playing tenor for pep band, but I've only put the thing together twice and I'm still learning the fingerings. I'll get it soon enough, and no one cares if you don't sound good in pep band, anyway.
