he pulled her close to him as he draped a blanket over her. He then started to drift asleep

[Night]
The next morning Jen woke up a 5 o'clock. The doctors wouldn't be in the room for another hour for prep, and that's when she'd have to leave, but not before then.

Dan woke up around 5:10 and looked over at Jen. "morning sweetie." he said.

"Morning." Jen mumbled with a small smile. "Did you sleep well?" She asked.

"yeah did you?" he said looking at her. he noticed that his leg was proped up higher then before.

"They're trying to stop blood flow, so that it doesn't interfere with the Surgery." Jen explained, catching his glimpse at his leg. "I slept well." She added.

"I was just wondering when did they come in cause i was sleeping like a baby." he said kissing her lightly. "you gonna be here when I come out of surgery?"

he just looked at her. "now is not the time for teasing." he said with a smile. "I'm nervous as it is." he looked back at his knee as he held her close. "Jen, I am scared, I am truely scared that I might not walk again." he said looking at her.

"It'll be ok, even if you can't walk you know I'd never leave you, right?" She asked, calmly as she could manage, although her voice shook as she spoke.

A few minutes later the doctor came in. "Jen, you've got to go." He said, with a slight smile at her.
Jen nodded and kissed Dan's cheek. "I'll see you when you get out of surgery." She said, with a small nod before walking out of the room.

he nodded as she left the room. the doctors prepped him for the surgery and when they were done they carted him off to the operation room.

They put Dan under and started the operation.

about 4 and a half hours later Dan was resting in his room after a successful operation.
