Kamira took the chip back gratefully, still feeling uneasy when it was taken out of her control, and followed the Doc through the maze-like lab. She tried to keep her eyes ahead, not wanting to seem nosy(most scientists and researchers or those in similiar profession tended to be protective of their finds), but natural curiosity and a faint interest in computers and technology had her eyes wandering rather unsubtly.

"Fascinating..." Kamira murmured. In any other situation, she probably would have found all of it interesting. Now, though, she was completely focused on seeing her little boy in the flesh(so-to-speak) at last.

She jumped at the Doc's sudden exclamation, startled out of her thoughts. "Uh, okay," she said, following him to the slightly creepy gurney. Kamira watched him slip the chip in, feeling slightly uneasy at how very wrong it looked, and the feeling vanished as soon as Gyan sat up and spoke.

Kamira barely contained a tiny squeal of glee. "Hul--I mean, hello," she managed, kneeling down for easier eye contact. "I'm...well, I guess you already know who I am."

"Yes," Gyan agreed, seeming very composed for someone who'd just woken up for the first time.

Doc waved Kamira and Gyan out and stepped into the lobby behind them. He squinted at Kyou, waiting for recognition to click in. It finally did, and he nodded at the young man.

"I believe that your Allen is ready to grow. Follow me, please."

He motioned for Kyou to follow and stepped back into the lab, leading the young man down the myriad corridors of computer equipment.

"He's been waiting for you."

"You'd be correct in assuming such," replied Doc, taking the chip and continuing around the corner. The corridor widened into a clear area with a workbench in the center. On the bench lay a small, brown haired child who, upon closer inspection, had catlike ears, feet, and a tail.

Doc quickened his pace and strode over to the table. Gently he propped the child into a sitting position and opened a panel on the back of his head. The chip snapped easily into position and the panel closed securely just as simply. Doc lay the child back down and smiled.

Slowly, a gleam appeared in the boy's eyes. He sat up, tail twitching, and hopped nimbly off the table.

"His body is built with nanotech," Doc informed Kyou, "So you won't need to bring him back for growings. But... Stop in once in a while. Okay?"

Doc gently pulled his coat away from the child.

"I need that, thank you very much. I look rather unofficial without it."

He waved them out.

"Run along now!"

Doc smiled as he strode out of the lab. Will had been due to grow for a while now, and it was always a pleasure to see his creations thriving. The boy's next body would be nanotech, which would simplify things considerably.

"Hello, Akuma. Hello, Will. It's nice to see the both of you again."

The boy didn't seem terribly excited to Doc. Maybe just a little bit. "Has your mother told you what's going to happen today?" he asked, giving the child some sort of fatherly grin.

"With risk of spoiling the surprise, you're going to grow! What would you think of that? One more step into the big wide world!" He turned and strode into the lab. "Right this way! I bet you can hardly wait!"
