She's not bad... but she's not entirely loveable or good either. I mean really, if you look at the way they interacted beforehand, and there's even a short chapter from when she and Alice are much younger, Mayura isn't exactly the kind and loving older sister archetype. I don't hate her... but I don't like her either.

I agree. Mayura never really was a great person to begin with, even before being taken over by Darva. And one of the reasons that she was even taken over in the first place was because she couldn't get over the fact that Kyou didn't love her. She's an interesting character, but I prefer others over her.

It was very odd. Today in history we learned about King Louis the 14th of France. He tried to make the people of France love him when they actually hated him. It made me think of Mayura for some reason, because she wouldn't let Kyo not love her. Yes, it was a very odd thing for me to be thinking in the middle of a history lesson.

I don't see it, Louis the XIV was much more narcissistic, which is why many people hated him. He felt he was the most beautiful being around when he was just a round man spawned from two family members like many other monarchs during the time. His room had to be faced to the sun because he found it to be the only entity with beauty rivalling his own. That's all I can recall of him.
I don't get the same vibe from Mayura. I don't like her mind you because she decided to accept the darkness on her own, not even giving Alice the chance to apologize about what she said or putting into consideration it was one of the fights some siblings have. She took her words of wishing for her to disappear litterally. Mayura isn't hated because she's a narcissist but because her personality was just that bad. Even if she was at one time the popular girl and Alice was in her shadow.

I wasn't paying too much attention (or I wouldn't have been thinking of that), so I just heard that he wanted people to love him when they didn't and thought of Mayura.

This is weird...
Isn't there supposed to be a second story in the 7th volume of Alice 19th? I just bought the english version today, and it only has the Bunny Heart story, but the story about when Alice and Kyo first met. sweatdrop
Or maybe I just missed something... Hmm....

Bought the seventh volume today!! An excellent ending to an excellent manga 3nodding
I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't put the second special story in also...I have scans of both side stories, and I preferred that one to Bunny Heart. Oh well, typical Viz xp
