Mei_Long Smiling Mei hugged Kitty back, "well, that's certainly good I suppose. Myself, I was rather begged to come, Catzi-lady gave me puppy eyes. ME, PUPPY eyes" he said with a laugh. The irony. Laugh Kitty shook her head. " I was asked to come as well, but I would have came anyway since i entered Kenna."

"Ah, so true, has Kenna won anything?" Mei asked, hoping the youth had, after all; who could say no to a smeeexy stripe? XD
Releasing Kitty Mei leaned against the wall, looking around again, when a certain individual caught his eye; said person looking rather astonished at the extravagent surroundings. Grinning he waved at Mako, hoping he'd notice him in the back.

Jessi sat down in the proffered seat and smoothed her skirt out. "Thank you, but you needn't refer to me as Miss, really. It's Jessica." Facing Adrian, she spoke. "I'm a freelance artist, actually. Keeps me quite busy, as you have to work harder to be noticed. What about you? What is it that you do for a living?"

"Oh, well, stressed really. School's a b***h, classmates... I wanna kill them. And it's getting closer to finals. Lack of sleep doesn't help either" Mei sighed, "what about you?" he asked, having missed talking with his friend.

Mako shook himself of his astoundment and began to scan the room for friendly faces. Standing on his tip-toes in the doorway, he caught a waving in the back and squeed to himself as he rushed over to greet Mei, forgetting about the child outside.

"Nah, you're not stupid," Mal insisted as Catzi pulled away. He turned his attention back to his drink and frowned when he discovered it was empty. "Excuse me, please," he said as he wandered off to find a refill.
Adrian inclined his head. "Jessica, then. A freelance artist, eh? I wouldn't mind seeing some of your work." He smiled softly. "I take care of kids, both at home and at work," he said simply. "Good thing I love them, or I'd go crazy. Or perhaps it's because I'm crazy that I love them." He shrugged and chuckled sheepishly. "Sorry, I'm rambling."
He was saved for the moment by the announcement from the butler. "Ah, good, no explosions," Adrian commented as he applauded the winner.

hobo clapped as another winner was announced. he stared at the butler because his uniform looked so immaculate. he nodded at ptah "i used to be the same, yet i never actually took stuff apart. you just got further then i was allowed to"

Catzi nodded as Mal went off to find himself another drink. For a moment she thought about following him, but thought better of it. Her feet hurt and her glass was still full, it would look silly. And besides she didn't know how badly she had offended the other.
Looking over to Jess and Adrian Catzi smiled again and sat down listening to their conversation quietly just happy to be with them, though she really didn't have anything to add.
