I have a sabre that came from sabreline.net. I bought it at WGI last year, though, at their booth. It's the crappiest sabre you will ever see in your life, the weight is all wonky. I still use it to practice though. sweatdrop
Heh, I haven't been here in a while.
My instructor finally realized that I was like.. the only one without gloves on the guard((Because I march in the fall season)). She finally ordered them today. I'm fairly new to weapons, so my hands hurt. LIKE NO OTHER. People are going to think i'm abused or something. xp
..yeah, yeah, I know, i'm just soft like that. Bite me, I like having full use of my hands.

Usually I'm the typical band-band person (flute/piccolo in the fall, oboe in the spring) that laughs at how stupid and airheaded OUR guard is, but when the entire guard graduated last year, and a lot of people that I knew and liked joined marching band guard, I decided to sign up and try out for Indoor Guard, and I made it! And since it's our school's first year with an Indoor Guard, none of us are terrible good, but it's still great fun =D Personally, my favorite is a normal 5'7" flag pole, but I also love using short flags. I've had the unfortune to have experienced doing a routine on a metal pole - NOT FUN. I also don't really like the rifle because its just too heavy and awkward sweatdrop (not to mention it really hurts when one gets hit with it)

im a band member... i play clarinet for marching, i used to play bassoon for concert band (now i play clarinet for both concert and marching), and saxaphone for jazz band. i joined winter gaurd this year and its an hour away from where i live and it meets every stinkin tuesday and thursday. its my first year doin WG and i love it. i suggested to my BD that we should have some band members learn colorgaurd for our show. he said it would be great for our GE. so we'd have gaurd and band members doin color gaurd! blaugh

Leian_Angelica hi i heart heart heart guard so much. this is only my first year and i am better than some of the returning members. i just have one question; what is a sabre? a sabre is like a sword only not sharp. it's a somewhat thin, flat piece of curved metal with a handle on one end and is around 36" long. a very delicate piece of equipment. heart

I'm a freshman member of the guard at my school. Freshman aren't allowed on the weapon lines, sadly, so I don't know how to do anything on rifle or sabre. Sad! crying

Antiphon What are the audition requirements? that really depends on what level you're auditioning at. at my hs, there's a 5 day afterschool clinic where we teach simple moves and a short routine that you perform at the end. that's your audition. if you're trying to get into drum corps, or somethin, then you must already have lots of knowledge of guard and all equipment, be tossing 6 on rifle and stuff like that.

Green Archer I hate it when they don't move it sucks. I always have the woodwinds instructor in front of me he is so funny i always warn him though. But i do have a saber. I almost hit the assistant directer while we wre practicing for our show one time^_^ he's also my math teacher so it was pretty humourous. wink Wow, you guys are so good! I just started this year( I'm a sophomore,) but I'm trying out for captain for junior year.
