Kendrick Lamar (sung lines only) Physical Description: A'kir is long, lanky, and lean. He has trouble putting on weight, be it fat or muscle, although he's never lacking in energy. He wears his long, black hair back in a tail on most occasions to keep it out of his grey eyes. His Roman nose is his most distinguishing feature along side the roguish grin usually plastered on his face. Standing at 6'2 he looks like a walking beanpole and in his younger days he often would trip over his own feet and limbs trying to sort out where every bit of him was. Everything about A'kir is sharp edges and harsh angles, making him appear to be a bit of a human cactus.
Personality: A'kir is a piece of work to say the least. He thrives in chaos and loves to tip the scales in his favor in any situation he can get away with it. He is incredibly shrewd and sneaky and can con the best of them with his tricky, underhanded ways. He always shrugs off responsibility and accountability on to others, blaming those around him for any problems he might have caused. His charisma leads others to believe he's not swindling them until he's got their coin purse in his hand and is ten miles away and he knows how to use it to his advantage. He has issues with authority figures and will do something he was told not to do simply because he was told not to do so.
Positive: Charismatic, Intelligent, High sense of self preservation. Negative: Swindler, Dishonest, No regard for authority.
History: A'kir was born to a poor mining family in Nabol Hold. He was the second born son to his parents, both of whom worked in the mines. When A'kir was four years old they were both killed in a tunnel collapse, leaving him and his nine year old brother to fend for themselves. A'kir's brother was already a well-known street child and he took A'kir along to beg on the corners. A'kir, lost and alone aside from his brother, grew into a cunning child who could perform sleight of hand tricks and 'magic' for the richer folks of the town. They gave him money for his tricks and he stole what else he needed from those with fat pockets. They wouldn't miss a little coin purse if they had that nice golden cane, right?
As he grew, A'kir began to steal for fun. Before it had been a necessity, but now he and his brother made enough from their street ventures and pickpocketing that they didn't need to go out of their way to take more. And yet A'kir still would slip his hands into the pockets of those passing by, taking far more than he and his brother had agreed upon taking. He used the extra coin to gamble, sometimes striking it rich while other times losing it all. Slowly A'kir became addicted to the 'sport' and when he spent and lost all of his and his brother's saved money on a fire lizard clutch, his brother left him to his own devices.
Now completely alone in the world, A'kir grew cold and distant from everything around him. He began to rob people rather than simply pickpocket, holding them up at knife point and demanding all of their valuables, not just their small coin purses. Word got around that a young boy was holding up the elite of the city, though, and soon the long arm of the law caught up to A'kir. He was captured and brought before the officials of the Hold and was completely ready to be tossed into manual labor or some other unsavory punishment, but a visiting rider and his dragon from High Reaches arrived just in time to 'save' him.
Apparently the bronze was a Searchrider and A'kir was the one they had been looking for. A'kir had no interest in returning to High Reaches with the two - Zeath and M'aze, he had come to find out - until he was offered the choice of being a Candidate until he aged out, at which point he could do what he wished, or being put in prison and forced to work in the mines that had killed his parents until the end of his days. Figuring he'd have a better chance of survival with the first option, A'kir went back to High Reaches with the Searchriders.
For three years he attended classes and learned all there was to learn about being a Candidate and a future Rider. He toed every line he could in the process, getting in trouble more than once, but every time he returned to his studies with the promise of prison and mines looming over him. Each time he Stood with his classmates the dragons snubbed him time after time, proving to him with each passing Turn that the world really was against him and he only had himself to look to for help of any kind. Thread returned during his time as a Candidate but it didn't phase him much. He had nothing to lose but his own life after all.
Finally the most recent Clutch at High Reaches found him Impressing a rather combative green dragon. She made it clear from the moment he had touched her shell that she wasn't going to stand for his attitude and that she'd fix him once she was out of that tiny prison. Fully expecting to be mauled, A'kir was beyond surprised when the green hatched, charged over to him, and Impressed instantly. Librath wasn't going to allow A'kir to live such an unjust and criminal life, even if she had to dedicate her own to ensuring he lived virtuously. Other: A'kir's name before he was a Rider was Alamikir. His brother is still alive and well but doesn't want anything to do with him now, even with his newfound calling. Ages up OOCly on June 27th.

Those that judge her based on her physical appearance are in for a rather unpleasant surprise. Her movements are incredibly graceful and her slim, almost underweight build makes her look as if she could blow away on a strong breeze. Her head knobs are fairly long and taper off at the end. Personality: Librath is a very intense dragon and one who likes to take matters into her own claws. She appreciates laws and rules but will not stand for those that discriminate against certain people or creatures and is quick to let those in power know. Librath is not shy when it comes to speaking up if she thinks something isn't fair or just and will do anything in her power to see it righted. She is judge, jury, and executioner and is quick to bestow punishment on those who do not heed her words. A warrior inside and out for what she believes in, Librath has no fear in taking on great responsibility and has the gumption to go fairly far in terms of rising within the ranks of a Wing.

Additional Notes: Librath will be incredibly picky when she Rises, but she will do so often. During the last Threadfall she sustained a serious injury to her tail, resulting in one of the prongs being amputated to stop the spread of the Thread.
Why Me: Librath and A'kir couldn't be any more different from one another. A'kir's flaws are Librath's strengths and the green is hell-bent on fixing every imbalance, anything unfair, and all injustice in the world that she can find and boy, was she just about rolling in her egg when A'kir came into her life. How one human could house so much dishonesty and have no regard for rules blew her tiny mind and she knew right away that he was her ultimate mission. She couldn't let him walk away! A'kir, on the other hand, didn't start out the way he currently is. He had been a sweet child before the death of his parents had turned he and his brother to the streets and perhaps underneath the years of swindling, cheating, and stealing there is still something that can be salvaged. It might take years and years of Librath's hard work, but she's more than willing to try. A'kir helps Librath loosen up a bit. She is as straight as a line and gets worked up over the smallest of things which A'kir has learned to live with. He knows his dragon is wound tight and he is the only thing that can stop her when she's on a righteousness rampage. When she learned about what goes on at Nabol Hold she very nearly tried to fly - even though she wasn't able to yet - to flame the entire place to the ground. While they are very different, they do share a loathing of authority that abuses its power and that is one thing that neither will check the other on.

What were they like in weyrling training? When they were just starting out, A'kir was a well-known troublemaker. Librath did her best to keep him in line, but she was so small it was hard to do. As she grew and was able to throw her weight around a little more they settled down, although A'kir still likes to stir up mischief and trouble.
How did they get along with their other weyrlings? Librath would associate with siblings who share her view of justice, balance, and fairness. A'kir is used to being a loner and had a hard time making friends. Librath would have helped him, but he already had a fairly poor reputation among his fellow Candidates. Librath is more of a social butterfly than A'kir even though he is charming and charismatic.
How did they feel about V'mel's strict training? Librath loved to try to follow his rules to the T while A'kir had already suffered quite a few extra punishments for breaking rules and pushing the line. Librath has helped keep A'kir in check but sometimes he still manages to stick it to the man.
How did they do during Threadfall? Even though they are quite opposite in nature, they work fabulously as a team. Librath's urge to protect and A'kir's desire to stay alive keep them in top fighting form. Librath did suffer a rather awful hit to her tail during Threadfall and the left prong had to be amputated about halfway down to stop the spread of Thread from reaching her tail.
How did they feel about losing blue N'pici of blue Blueth? A'kir is numb to loss and didn't react beyond paying his respects. Librath mourned with the rest of the Weyrlings and vowed to do whatever she could to protect those that she flew with from here on out.
Anything else? Librath is based off of Justice's upright position and A'kir is based off of Justice's reversed position.
