Character Chosen: Dumbledore - Harry Potter
How are they a Leader?:
A believe that Dumbledore is a leader. I have read all of the Harry Potter books and in the one's that he is in, he is always doing what is good for the students even if it's not what is best for him. A true leader does what is right and is selfless. They are smart and diplomatic. Dumbledore constantly talked himself out of trouble and was always prepared in some way of another. In the end, he gave his life to protect his students... trusting in his plan to unfold even without him. He reminds me to be true to myself and to do what is right, no matter how difficult it may be.

Response:

Jaret looked at his assignment, trying to think of one of his books to use. He smiled softly as he thought of his favorite books, Harry Potter. He then thought long and hard on who to use for a leader. There were many characters that he thought would be good to write about but he needed to decide on one. It took a while but he narrowed it down to Nevil, Dumbledore or Hermione. He sighed as he thought of each and how he'd write each of them. Nodding quietly, he selected the headmaster; Dumbledore would be perfect for this sort of project.

Original Story: Rapunzel

Story:
It started off like any other day, eating delicious food and having everything done for him. The prince made his way down the large halls to meet his father in the throne room. "Father, I hear that there is ogre's terrorizing one of the villages in our kingdom. I wish to aid them by ridding their ogre problem." He requested to the King, bowing his head with respect. The King allowed his son and his son's most loyal guard to assist him. So on his way to the outskirts of his kingdom, the Prince and his men rode. Upon arriving, they were met with a large and gruesome ogre. The disgusting creature immediately attacked them but were no match to the Prince and his men. Once they had defeated the ogre, the Prince stood in front of the creature looking upon his people. He was in the middle of making a speech about how great he was when the ogre's stomach suddenly exploded. It's juices flew everywhere... but mostly on the Prince. Disgusted, the Prince left in embarrassment and rode to the nearest lake to clean himself off. As he cleaned off the stench that was the ogre, he heard singing in the distance. Curiously, he followed the voice to a tall tower. He hoped that there was a beautiful girl in there but it was hard to see. "Hello fair maiden! Why are you so far up there?" He called out to her. Rapunzel looked down to him, "Hello? My name is Rapunzel! An evil witch locked me up here and I can't get down! Please help!" She replied. The Prince smirked, moving to try and climb the tower but it was too tall. "Rapunzel, do you have rope!?" He called back out. Rapunzel sighed, "No but I have something that could work!" She called back, throwing her long thick hair down. The Prince looked at the extremely dirty, dandruffy and smelly hair that she let down. Every time he tried to touch it... his stomach cringed. "I-I forgot something! Be right back!" He told her, getting onto his horse and riding off.... never ever returning to that tower with that dreadful maiden's dirty hair.

Response: Talia really had to think about this one for a while. Of course it was mostly to figure out what types of rooms hadn't been taken yet so that she could then work on a new one. There was that river of chocolate with all of that other candy... and the gum and nuts room... and the tv thing... the bubbles... ah! And the gobstopper things! She thought to herself as she looked at the blank piece of paper in front of her. That...
didn't really leave a whole lot left, though she assumed that while it was supposed to be a 'chocolate factory' since there had been many other types of sugary concoctions there, then just about anything that was bad for you would work, right?

That really didn't seem to help her though, as she was still trying to figure out what type of candy would be good for a room. Was taffy too close to gum?
She had to think about it... And then it hit her! What about something like skittles? Sure, they weren't under the Wonka Factory brand, but if they had their own version of them, then surely it could work, right?

She started writing her room thusly:
"Since skittles liked to say 'taste the rainbow' then what people would see when they walked into the room would be a giant rainbow against a nice blue sky! Sometimes if they were lucky, they would see two of them! At the end of the rainbow would be a giant sorter, collecting the color from each part of the rainbow and sorting it into it's desired size. Of course, this was quite messy and sometimes there were colors that didn't quite work, and so they would go back into the colored river, which was pretty much just brown, and utterly tasteless.

Using the colors from the rainbow, they would then be sent into a large heater that looked like a volcano. From this heater, the colors would boil and flavor would then get into the colors. Finally, when it was done, the volcano would explode and the bit-sized, rainbow-colored candy would explode out of it,
and the workers would have to catch as much of it as they could with baskets."

Talia looked at her assignment and was satisfied with it.

Response: While reading the book, many of the environments had easily come to the Freshling's mind in the form of Below's architecture. It was vivid, though much of it was torn from places he had seen and been before, including and not limited to the cool cafe down the street he went to sometimes with his family. Regardless, Augustus was hyped for this assignment despite the fact he lacked much of a sweet tooth.

His handwriting was not the best nor was his selection of words that colorful, but he made the best of describing the new room. There would be many crystalline structures much like Below, except each and every one would be made of clear, popping candy that crackled when it got wet. Because of this you could see where everyone had licked the walls and features before, making it both slightly disgusting and highly interesting!

On the furthest wall a really long walk away would be a gum drop chair that was squishy but firm so that you could bounce on it but not sink into it like quicksand. When sitting on this perfect seat you can see the ceiling; it is coated in large grains of color sugar, giving it a soft color that matches the rest of the decor while also imitating the perfect popcorn texture.

In his head there was no additional features; he did not think of any machinery or any real purpose for this room other than to lick it but as his tiny hand grew tired and his words reached the bottom of the page he hoped his teacher would be happy.

Student Name: Garet
Character Chosen: Aragorn- Lord of the Rings
How are they a Leader?: Aragorn is a leader among men no doubt. In the midst of chaos and stress, Aragorn never loses focus. He stays on his objective, without fail acted as protector throughout the movie even when the fellowship had to take different paths. This is seen even late in the story, he creates a massive diversion to help the ring bearer, Frodo penetrate Mordor to destroy the ring. He did everything in his power to keep whom he could save. Even when things seemed bleak, he never wavered. Most importantly he never once asked for special treatment despite his rightful lineage. Not to mention, he is as equally kind and caring as he is an incredible on the battlefield makes him every bit the leader, and king his character development lead up to.

Response:
A leader...what was this assignment even? Frowning, no really scowling Garet glared at the question on the paper in front of him. He didn't know! Grumbling he tipped his head back as he stared up at the ceiling. Wait, he could always base it off one of his favorite books maybe? Despite his initial disdain, it outweighed his desires to purposely slack off and delay the inevitable need to finish his assignment. He could always choose one of the Fellowship members like Aragorn, Legolas or Gimili. He loved the various characters that inhabited the Lord of the Rings. There was plenty to choose from, even outside the Fellowship such as Éowyn. In the end, he settled for Aragorn after some debate about whom would be easiest to write about for the assignment.

Oh good, something interesting to do in class! Jacie may not enjoy school very much but language arts was one he didn’t mind too much. Stories and art were something he found value in. Luckily, today was a day of creativity in class! He picked up his pencil and thought for a moment before starting his assignment. I would imagine that the chocolate factory would have all sorts of interesting rooms! Especially a room that is made out of all sorts of different kinds of candy! Where grass is is green colored shredded coconut, the tree trunks are made of chocolate and the leaves are cotton candy! Of course, most candy can melt so there would have to be some sort of electricity! The wires could be made of nerds ropes! It would be a place to relax and have a complete sugar overload! Of course to relax you need a chair made out of licorice; it can come in red or black! This would definitely be a room for me!

Finishing his assignment, his stomach growled some. All that candy would be amazing but real food was definitely needed. Luckily, lunch was next!

Kinley thought long and hard on what room he thought the chocolate factory would have. He starting to write down his idea with as much detail as her could. My room would be made completely out of cotton candy. Chairs, desks, scientific equipment would all be made out of cotton candy. You can even condense it into a sugar lump so that stuff wouldn’t have to be fluffy! The fluffier cotton candy is saved for stuff like pillows and blankets or maybe just a snack. Maybe there is also a pool area that spins the candy into it’s fluffy delightful stage. You can swim in it and cover yourself in it… like a cotton candy cocoon! What was really awesome about a cotton candy room is that you can change the color since it’s just sugar!

Kinley looked at his paper, knowing it wasn’t really that good. He just didn’t have inspiration on creating a made up candy room. He hoped his paper was good enough to pass.

Story:
Reading over her assignment, Lilja thought of a fairy tail that she could use. Deciding on Alice in Wonderland, she started her story in the eyes of the Queen of Hearts. Once there lived a wonderful queen who cared very much about her kingdom. She did everything for her people and all that lived in her lands. Her people called her the Queen of Heart because of how much she loved her people. However, overtime, the queen developed a disorder that made her want to perfect everything. She wanted the perfect kingdom for her people. She made stricter laws so her people were safe and happy. Her people didn’t like how controlling she had because and started to revolt against her. Didn’t they know that this was all for them? One day, she had gotten upset at her gardener because they planted white roses instead of red ones. She told them to fix it and went on her way. When the gardener told her they were done, she checked out her garden to realize that they had just painted the white roses red. They tried to trick her! When asking why they painted the roses, they told her that a girl named Alice gave them the idea. Angry, the queen send her guard to collect this Alice girl. Who was she? Why was she in her kingdom? Even better, why was she in the royal garden!? She looked everywhere for this girl but only found that she had started a rebellion movement within her kingdom. Heartbroken that her people turned on her, she became angry. “OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!” She shouted, trying to strike fear into the hearts of her people since love obviously didn’t work but it was too late. Alice had found her. The girl looked innocent but she had been the cause of this revolution and now the queen found herself staring this child down. “OFF WITH HER HEAD!” She screamed out to her guard but they had turned on her too! She had nobody left, nobody to trust. Then swipe! Alice slashed her sword at the queen.. Ridding her of her screaming head and the queen’s life was vanquished to an outsider that never belonged there. Looking over her story, she grinned. She was happy that they had a creative assignment today, it was a lot of fun to write.

Student Name: Crispin
Original Story: Little Red Riding Hood

Story:
Crispin hummed thoughtfully as he decided what to write a story about. An idea occurred to him as he furiously began to write. The Wolf waited patiently for the arrival of the little girl in the crimson red cloak. The blood from the remains of dear old Grandma lay scattered about the old, worn down home. Wolf had not meant for it to go this way...the old woman had been so over the top and outrageous, however! She had discovered him, lurking in waiting for her Granddaughter. Fearing for the child's safety, she talked the creature. All the wolf had wanted was to meet the beautiful girl up close. As fate would have it, she could only see him for the beast he was.. and not the kindly soul that sought only to consume Riding Hoods every waking moment. So he followed her, back to this old shack deep in the forest.

When the old woman had attacked him, the beast had no choice but to defend himself. It was over faster than the beating of his wild heart.

In the aftermath, the sound of ticking from the grandfather clock echoed in his ears. The rhythmic echoing was deafening in that small space. The wolf sat in silence, wondering where he had gone wrong. Had meeting her truly been so wrong? The taste of blood was still thick on the creatures palette. What was he to do? She would surely arrive...at any moment. The clock began to chime at the top of the hour, like some ominous prelude as the door began to rattle....

It was time to see how she would greet him, as he lied in waiting.

Once he was done writing, Crispin read over it again. It was purposely left as a cliff hanger...but he liked the direction he was going with it. Grinning he went to go turn in his assignment, pleased with the results.

Pursing her lips, Nova wasn't sure how to answer the given question initially. What sort of silly things existed in a magical, make-believe chocolate factory? She was familiar with the story, and had been paying attention as it was discussed... she sighed deciding it was no use. The teacher was looking at her expectantly. The little girl looked thoughtful as she decided how best to answer.

"Uhhh..Well of course were would be all kinds of rooms for the different flavored Hard Candies. Plus I imagine there is a massive Chocolate room for each type..like the Milk Chocolate room or the dark! Plus there is a room for nuts, taffy, caramel and other stuff like the gum testing room? Each room would have all the different stages of the candy from finish to start! That way you can try the candy in each stage of creation. There would be lots of machine and giant containers to hold all the candy I think." Nova purposely spoke up, namely so she wasn't asked to repeat herself for being too quiet...she hated having to repeat herself because her voice was too soft. She shrugged in response after adding in her thoughts, she didn't really like candy very much...so she didn't know really know what else would be in Mr. Willy Wonka's Factory.

The idea of going to a place like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory fascinated the young Baphomet. Making candy seemed like a dream job, you got to bring endless joy in the form of sugary goodness to the world over. When they had learned about it, even if was just a story she had been delighted by the concept. A thoughtful expression crossed her face as the teacher asked about what kind of rooms would be in a place such that. Humming thoughtfully, she leaned back in her seat in consideration.

"There would be machines of all colors and sizes to allow for the production of every kind of candy flavor. Even the planets would be edible, as they would be candy hybrids! The rooms each would have a test tasting station, where you can watch things be produced. The chocolate river flows into the great mixing pool where they craft all of their chocolate yummies." Kahlua's eyes sparkled in consideration. "Even the trees could grow fruity sweet treats! When the flowers bloom it reveals a new type of candy, while the bark its self can be chewed like gum. They have gardens that grow all kind of exotic flavors, even the ones they use for the Gobstoppers! I bet there is all kind of furniture..some you can even eat!" She explained, getting carried away with her imagination.

Student Name: Lailah

Response: The problem with Lailah having to write an assignment like this, was the fact that she had barely paid any attention to the book when they were reading it. She had mostly been daydreaming, thinking about the candy that was in the book rather than anything else, and by the time they had finished, she had only been able to wonder if bubbles could be flavored.

She took a minute, looking at the paper, appreciating it's whiteness, before she started to write what her room would be.

"The Cotton Candy Room.

The room itself is all different colors, since cotton candy can be all different colors. The walkways would be made of the sticks people use to be able to eat the candy. There would be cotton candy growing like it was harvested from plants. The ground would have green puffs, that they would harvest any green cotton candy from. The trees also would be made of cotton candy, and instead of having leaves, would have cotton candy. But the workers would need to watch out, for in the trees, there would be the cotton spiders, who create nests out of the cotton candy to be able to catch their prey. The spiders would be made of hardened cotton candy. The trees would be various colors, such as pink, blue, purple, and others. Workers would also have to worry about being wrapped up in the cotton candy, as they could become completely trapped."

After that, the paper started to get a bit rambly, even for Lailah, and she was forced to stop, lest her teacher get an assignment back that was five pages long.
