Dorms - First floor - Melvin
Melvin slowed down, nodding. "Yeah."
It wasn't like he volunteered to take the medication.
Moving to the last step he looked around and spotted a door. "I think we can get out of here."

TownAmerica began with an allcaps explanation to the world that she and Mimsy were not to be ******** with. And then...well THEN... "Hey is your mom a scarlet lady named Caroline?" America asked the question slowly. "Cause she's on Twitter right now if so. She wants to talk to you. She also says we're a good team so she's definitely not stupid or anything. And something about little kids?"

Dorms - first floor
Jordan descended the last few stairs in a rush and ran over to the door, shoving at it and half expecting it to be locked. It opened easily, blessing him with a faceful of hot, humid air. "We're not in California," he said over his shoulder to Melvin, and stepped outside.

Life Labs: H's Office
Rep wasn't sure what he was expecting, maybe he was hoping that somehow H would have evaded the status that was wrecking the rest of the island and that he'd just be in there waiting for them to arrive and to hand them the key to getting things back to normal.
Instead the way he looked at them made Rep subconsciously put himself between Carl and H like a protective lioness.
"Hey H." he said. "Are you doing all right in here? Just checking in and s**t."

Outside Dorms
Melvin jerked back to let Jordan pass and then stopped when he looked out the door that wasn't bolted shut. If they were kidnapped, where was the security? Where were the guards? Where were the locks and chains?
Following him out, he looked outside into the bright light and felt a heavy warmth he wasn't familiar with. "This isn't Maine either."
Stepping out, he saw an large stretch of grass out into the distance followed by what clearly wasn't pine trees. "Is that a jungle?!"

LIFE LABS: H'S OFFICE
Carl peered from behind H, suddenly very curious. He wasn't looking exactly at who Rep was looking at, just peering around the room as if trying to make sense of everything (it wasn't working).
"Are you a doctor?" he added, genuinely curious, "I saw a doctor once, it was terrible."

LIFE LABS: H'S OFFICE"I will be one day," the boy, his voice tinged with a slight Boston accent. "You've been lucky, though, if it was only the once." He smiled and then looked at Rep with increasing interest. "You're afraid of me."

Outside Dorms
"I thought the door would be locked, or there'd be like, guards or something," Jordan said, and turned to look up at the building they'd just come from. "It just looks like apartments," he said. "Kinda fancy apartments but not like, a prison or anything."
He looked out to the tangle of green in the distance. It was ridiculously lush and green. "I think it's a jungle," he agreed.

LIFE LABS: H'S OFFICE
Rep didn't like being around H, he never had, part of him yearned for the man's impossible approval and part of him feared him. All of it was a viceral pull which left him spineless and helpless in front of him. He had hoped it wouldn't be the case if he was a kid, but here he was, genuinely unnerved by the boy in front of him.
"I am ******** not." he said, without the certainty he wanted it to have. "I'm no scared of you and I never have been. I'm coming by to make sure you haven't broke anything or hurt yourself, least you could be is grateful." He eyed the screens anxiously.
"Doctors are just stuck up ******** who think degrees make them better. I don't think H can help us Carl, like this."

Outside
"Yeah. Where is everyone? If they took us, then why aren't we locked up? Where is anyone?" He walked out, the grass cool and the sun warm, and he was relieved to find that it all felt somewhat normal. There was something that always had been reassuring to him to be out in the sun where it was bright.
Where it wasn't dark.
Turning, he turned about and then paused, gesturing at Jordan and pointing out across the yard. "Look. That building - it's glowing" Across was another large building and above it large symbols glowed brightly above it.

LIFE LABS: H'S OFFICE
"Well, I don't like flu shots, so I didn't go again." Carl said, once again misinterpreting the words quite literally.
Despite Rep insisting that they leave, he couldn't take his eyes off something on display behind the "Doctor". "What is that." He pointed vaguely to where some strange blue and black paperweights resided. Very loudly, he whispered to Rep, "I think you should tell him about the voices."

Outside
Jordan turned a slow circle. "Yeah. If they took us, where are they?"
He looked where Mel was pointing. "Whoa. That's cool. I wonder how they did that. Do you want to go look?"

Outside Deus Dorms
Chance held up both of his hands in a gesture of hasty submission.
"No touchy, okay," he said lightly, and stepped outside. The sun was warm on his face, making him squint a little, but the grass under his bare feet was soft; he'd forgotten to actually put on shoes before wandering around, but that had never bothered him before.
"Maybe some sort of like...I dunno," Chance shaded a hand over his eyes, staring up at the building.
"Maybe like a research facility?"

LIFE LABS: H'S OFFICEThe boy just smiled, opened his mouth, and said, "Clarice, scan the room." And then a woman's voice, low and sweet and smooth, intoned, "There are several additional beings in the room. The largest humanoid is William Hughes. Potential: reached in full." A little less formal, "You've been socializing a lot better, guy. Your ability to work in a group context has exceeded previous estimates." A pause, "The second humanoid is under a Legacy Effect. Arm all systems, sir?" The boy's smile widened.

Outside Dorms"Yeah they might have a phone from or a radio. If we're in a jungle then maybe that's why we can't call anyone." He said, walking towards the glowing building before he spotted two other kids further off.
"Hey, there are other people. HEY!" He waved out at them because he could tell they were NOT adults.
